I'm sorry it's taken so long to get back to you all on the Genre Forum Survey that we put out a few months ago, it's taken a while to discuss and fine-tune how to proceed! A few changes have been made recently which are something of a trial, and so we can measure what works and what doesn't. You'll have already noticed the format tags now present in the genre forums. This is the closest thing we can have to an actual tagging system on this software, and every thread in the genre forums needs to have a tag assigned to it. If you're unsure, just ask a moderator! Always open to new tag suggestions as well - let me know and I'll be able to get it added. We're looking at creating more individual threads, rather than having an artist's entire era discussed in the album thread (for example, instead of Beyoncé's COWBOY CARTER era being discussed entirely in the album thread, we have separate threads for TEXAS HOLD 'EM and so on). In particular, every UK top 40 hit should have its own thread, with the exception of album tracks that chart upon an album's release (using the Beyoncé example, JOLENE wouldn't need a thread). Additionally, for releases like albums, singles, EPs, and so on, please format your threads as so: Thread title: Song Artist - Song Title Thread subtitle: Release Date for example: Benson Boone - Beautiful Things 18th January 2024 or Camila Cabello feat. Playboi Carti - I LUV IT 27th March 2024 This keeps the forum looking tidy and easy to read! In addition, newly launched today is the Music Lounge. This has replaced the Artist Forum Hub to become a place for general music discussion and news. Please dive in and create topics for your favourite artists, and any music news you come across! It's the place for all music chat that doesn't fit an artist's current era. Finally, based on your survey feedback, we've renamed a couple of the genre forums. Pop is now Pop and Country, to reflect the growing popularity of country music, while Dance is now Dance and Electronic. From now on, an artist's threads may feature in multiple forums depending on the genre they're creating (for example, Post Malone's latest single will go into Pop and Country, separate from his previous material which still lives in R&B and Hip-Hop). We'll review the impact of these changes over time and see if this system is working or not, but please do ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer them! Thanks so much to the Genre Mods for their invaluable insight into tweaking the system |

Music Lounge is a great idea, especially when talking about music festivals that cover multiple genres!
