Chart Analysis

As it's a bit of a calmer week in the chart with only four entries in the top 40, and 12 in the top 100, it was never in doubt that Rudimental wouldn't stay at #1 with 'These Days'. It becomes their third week at #1 and is now the longest-running #1 single outright for all of the artists involved, beating Jess Glynne's two weeks spent with 'Rather Be'. It seems likely that this will become the first lengthy run at the top in 2018, and has already spent longer at #1 than the two #1s before it ('Sky Is Falling' and 'My Own Hymn' which spent one week at the top each). Both of those songs fall out of the top ten this week, down #4-11 and #6-15 respectively, leaving 'Lonely Together' as the only former #1 in the top 10 as it spends a record 27th week there, climbing #10-9 this week.

The #2 single this week belongs again to Calvin Harris with 'Nuh Ready Nuh Ready'. The gap between #1 and #2 has widened however, so at this point it seems unlikely that Calvin will manage to overtake Rudimental. CLiQ climb two places to re-peak at #3 with 'Wavey', and are eyeing up the #2 position.

Standerwick and HALIENE follow their #14 debut last week by jumping ten places to #4 to give both artists their second top 10 hit. Nora En Pure catapults back into the top 10 at a new peak of #5 with 'Trailblazer'. The song, which previously peaked at #7, fell to #26 last week but gets a boost from its announcement as the South Danaelandan entrant for BJSC 102. Also re-entering the top 10 are Jax Jones, back #11-6 with 'Breathe', and Drake up #12-7 with 'God's Plan'. Sir Drake gets his 12th top 10 hit this week too as 'Look Alive' (with BlocBoy JB) climbs five places to #10.

Elsewhere in the chart new peaks are reached by Virtual Self with 'Ghost Voices' (#21-19), Don Diablo with 'Give Me Love' (#22-20), Wilkinson with 'Decompression' (#36-26), Arty with 'Sunrise' (#35-28) and Sonny Alven & Dragonette with 'Awake' (#32-30). Re-entries come from Avicii with 'Without You' (#42-36) and Rita Ora & Liam Payne with 'For You (Fifty Shades Freed)' (#48-37).

It's been a good week for Kendrick Lamar as he gets this week's highest brand new entry as featured artist for Rich The Kid on 'New Freezer' at #62. He is also this week's highest top 40 new entry, as Black Panther soundtrack single 'All The Stars' (a duet with SZA) jumps 21 places to #27. It becomes his sixth top 40 hit, and first for nearly a year when 'HUMBLE.' reached #21. It becomes SZA's third top 40 hit as it charts alongside 'The Weekend' at #24. The second and only other new arrival to the top 40 comes from Lika Morgan. She is a dance producer and singer from L.A. who has made this chart a few times now, most notably on BJSC entry and #2 hit 'Make Your Move'. She gets her third top 40 hit this week with 'Lady Marmelade', a rendition of Patti LaBelle's song of (almost) the same name - for some reason Lika's spelt Marmalade with an 'e'. It climbs to #38 from last week's #62.

Great to see "These Days" at #1 and I'm also happy about the big gains for "All The Stars", "IDGAF" and a surprising big gain for "Cola"!
Finally nice debuts for "Mad Love" & especially "Pray For Me", the latter looks to be my #1 tonight, when I release my chart.
Great chart overall!

These Days could be #1 for a while, it's the first song of 2018 I've really loved.
Cola just randomly re grew on me a bit this week ha.
Mad Love is a bit of a bop, good to have Sean Paul back again.
Pray For Me is quite good but I'm glad All The Stars seems to be getting bigger.

House Of Cards is amazing too, it's been a while since I've really been into a KSHMR song

that is quite annoying but there's no stopping Drake, we're just lucky it's set for a 4th week at #2.
I was expecting it from Gareth Emery first but he seems to have been very quiet since, great that Standerwick and HALIENE came back finally.
This is probably my fave KSHMR song in a while too, must be the Sidnie Tipton influence.
I am a sucker for a Drake song oops.

Rudimental continuing their run at #1, if it wasn't for Drake they'd be doing that officially

Fairly low entry for 48HRS, it's certainly different to their other recent stuff but I am quite liking it~

I see a couple of Black Panther tracks in there, they are growing on me although that film really didn't need a soundtrack

Shame really, if only Drake timed his release for a few weeks later.
Not really into 48HRS as much as their previous two songs, not a whole lot to it sadly.
All the Stars is growing for me more than I expected, Pray For Me is decent too, rest of the soundtrack doesn't appeal.
