Very interested to see how these turn out, I think my 12 has a decent chance of doing well so I hope it can (and me not flopping for once would be nice too x)

01. awardinary was behind…

Alter Bridge - Blackbird

QUOTE
Hi Jade,

Thank you for hosting again, your plug session was a real success I felt, and great turnout too!

Here’s my votes.

+12 Colony House – You Know It
+10 Karnataka – Secrets Of Angels
+8 Shrangralas – White Gold
+7 Soccer Mommy – Circle The Drain
+6 Westerman – Confirmation
+5 Windmaker – My Empire
+4 Club Smith – Young Defeatists
+3 Working Men’s Club – A.A.A.A.
+2 Moaning – Fall In Love
+1 FalKKone – Licht Und Schatten

We begin with Wardy who is behind 'Blackbird' by Alter Bridge! They're an American rock group consisting of former members of the band Creed. They were said to be inspired by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd when creating this song. 'Blackbird' boasts a killer guitar solo, a raw vocal performance and some really emotional lyrics. The blackbird appears to represent someone they've lost in this cruel world before they were able to see the light. Powerful stuff! This is one of the longest songs in the contest as it clocks in at almost 8 minutes long. Wardy shows support to a fellow #longsongbloc member - as 'Secrets Of Angels' is his silver medal and that is easily the longest song in the contest, at 20 minutes. Colony House become our first leader tonight with Arctic Monkeys Shangralas completing the top 3.

02. Chez Wombat was behind…

FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten

xx Larkin Poe - Preachin' Blues
xx Kasalla - Stadt met K

Great edition, thanks very much all! <3

Next up is Chez Wombat who is revealed to be behind ‘Licht Und Schatten’ by FalKKonE! This is a symphonic metal cover of a song from the anime Tokyo Ghoul, so an eclectic choice for sure. FalKKonE himself appears to be from Poland and specialises in these symphonic metal covers. A lady named Rena is also involved with this project as a singer and artist, but she doesn’t sing on this occasion. This entry is purely instrumental - with some epic guitar and string action! Chez is currently sitting in 16th with one point, not bad at all when there has only been one set of votes prior to his. He does not award any points back to Wardy, fellow exposed buddy, but does help some other songs off 0. Still 12 zero pointers at the moment. Chez awards Karnataka his gold, so that is easily in the lead now with two medal positions to its name. A 20 minute winner… could it happen? That would be iconic. Chez tops up Working Men’s Club and Moaning’s respective totals, sending them both into the top 5.

Suddenly Wardy's knowledge of Alter Bridge on plug.dj makes sense magic.gif

Chez being behind the only instrumental of the contest, who'd have predicted ohmy.gif (naturally also one of the best songs *.* that to do v well pls x)

Did I fool people into thinking I was Iz for just a minute? x (I confess I've never heard of Tokyo Ghoul)

FalKKonE has loads of really cool symphonic metal covers of various anime and video game covers and various weird stuff (he's done Mozart and the Thomas the Tank Engine theme as well) on his channel, I'd really recommend it to all those who like this: https://www.youtube.com/falkkone/join

Rena is indeed also often involved and is pretty cool, but you can barely hear her over the music sometimes laugh.gif

iz is not behind the anime song!!!

I always love symphonic reinterpretations of good soundtracks, so that was a highlight.

03. Bré was behind…

Moaning - Fall In Love

QUOTE
12 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten
10 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A.
8 Bebe - Malo

7 Westerman - Confirmation
6 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels
5 Ellis - Shame
4 Windwaker - My Empire
3 Dogleg - Fox
2 Soccer Mommy - circle the drain
1 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud

Great round, some surprises there as I haven't really been a fan of other music I have heard from Soccer Mommy and especially Westerman but these were great choices! Here's hoping Moaning won't be paid the dust I was paid in the last Jade Nuggets xx (I may have slightly bent the rules in sending a song that's mostly synthpop but hey, it has a good amount of guitar in the second half kink.gif)

Commiserations to these which were also worthy of points:
Amyl And The Sniffers - Starfire 500
Folkstone - In Taberna
Summoning - Land Of The Dead
Sonata Arctica - Whirlwind
BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know
Club Smith - Young Defeatists

Now it’s time for Bré’s votes! He is behind ‘Fall In Love’ by Californian-based band Moaning. This is gloriously 80s with its synthpop influences and thrashing guitar - thankfully it did contain enough of the latter to dodge a veto. Lyrically this is about being afraid of falling in love due to witnessing a lot of relationships ending badly. I feel like a good synth always brightens up any topic however. This package also contains a cool and slightly trippy Adult Swim video. Bré is currently sitting in 7th place so could certainly be on track to outdo his position in my last Nuggets contest. He awards 12 points to Chez’s symphonic metal instrumental so that now flies into the top 5! Bray also awards 10 to Working Men’s Club, tightening their grip on 2nd place. He then gives 8 to the Spanish standout from Bebe - that is now in the top 10. He also ensures that BLOXX and Dogleg are off 0, so now it’s 10 people that remain on nil points.

SCOREBOARD

1 28 Karnataka - Secrets Of Angels
2 23 Working Men's Club - A.A.A.A.
3 13 Westerman - Confirmation
4 13 FalKKonE - Licht Und Schatten [Chez Wombat]
5 12 Colony House - You Know It
6 12 Bebe - Malo
7 10 Moaning - Fall In Love [Bré]
8 10 Ellis - Shame
9 9 Soccer Mommy - Circle the Drain
10 9 Windwaker - My Empire

11 8 Shangralas - White Gold
12 7 Folkstone - In Taberna
13 6 Summoning - Land Of The Dead
14 4 Club Smith - Young Defeatists
15 3 Egoism - What Are We Doing?
16 3 Dogleg - Fox
17 2 BAILEN - Your Love Is All I Know
18 1 Amyl & The Sniffers - Starfire 500
19 1 BLOXX - Lie Out Loud
20 0 Alter Bridge - Blackbird [awardinary]

21 0 cheerbleederz - sometimes i cry at work
22 0 Club Drive - Spare Time
23 0 DI-RECT - Times Are Changing
24 0 H.E.R.O. - Bad Blood
25 0 Kasalla - Stadt met K
