I seriously love 'Ready For It', so this better be great if it's the second single instead of it.

Top 3 would be a good enough peak for me for if its a great song. She's already had a #1 debut this era so I'm not being greedy. Maybe if we are lucky she'll get another one, most likely album release week with the effect of people checking out the album and the (hopeful) X-Factor slot

IT'S OUT
omggg it's quite Melanie Martinez It reminds me of Blank Space and Out Of The Woods with Melanie production. The lyrics are INCREDIBLE, I'm glad that there isn't anything cutting or petty, it's really like 16 year old Taylor's diary matured up with some 1989 sensibility. LOVE it, idk about its potential as a hit I changed my mind on that about 5 times during the song |

Really really good on first listen, extremely radio friendly and I think it’s a grower in the way Blank Space was - it doesn’t hit you around the face but I think it will sink in on further listens. It maybe reminds me a little of Paloma’s Crybaby in terms of general feel.
The line about the cats at the ends of the middle 8 made me scream, only Taylor! Really really like this, and I’m sure I’ll be absolutely loving it after a few more plays. And I love how every Taylor song GOES somewhere, there’s always ad-libs just where you want them. |

Also "you make me so happy it turns back to sad" might be her BEST lyric ever that concisely nails that feeling of an unattainable crush, which says a lot, I am REALLY stanning these lyrics.
People from the Secret Sessions said it's about Joe, her current bf, too |

I can tell I'm going to be hooked on this in no time at all The other two songs from Reputation so far definitely pack more of a punch but this is a lot of fun and I love the lyrics too. I'd love to see a video for this so I do hope that it's single 2 but I adore "Ready For It" too so I'm a bit conflicted

It's really good. RFI is better but only coz this is like 'Blank Space' but with less punch. I understand why LWYMMD was used as the first single though. But I'm def feeling this era a lot more after these last two songs!

I think it’s a grower in the way Blank Space was - it doesn’t hit you around the face but I think it will sink in on further listens. The line about the cats at the ends of the middle 8 made me scream, only Taylor! Yass at the cats line, I heard it and thought, "well, that's Jade sold" Agree re; the first point too. I definitely wasn't sure about the sound of it at first but by the time I'd heard the entire thing once in full, I was feeling it a lot more. Not crazy about the 'you're so gorgeous' hook but the 'you make me so happy it turns back to sad' one works a lot better. |

I really like it! 3/3 for me so far pretty much.
The lyric which got me was the "I don't mind if you touch me in the darkroom" one. |
