In every election my Dad has voted he has never voted for the winner (always lived in staunchly Conservative constituencies and mostly votes Labour), he was adamant that he would be on the winning side in the EU referendum (remain... or so he thought) and even the pointless and pitifully low turnout Police and Crime Commissioner elections he lost out when the person he voted for had initially won by 0.06% but on the second preference votes lost out.

Democracy is depressing sometimes.
