Gabrielle’s new single Stop Right Now just dropped, following her Masked Singer appearance.
Pleasant song, some very nice sections but not sure about the chorus. Good luck to her though she’s a great artist! |

Gabrielle's previous album was actually really solid! Been listening lately after one of her old songs popped up on the radio~

Smart of her to release a new song now; and always a delight to hear her again. She really should be a national treasure.

Her last album was SO good, not keen on this one so far. I believe her album will contain some of the songs she performed on the Masked Singer.

So there are only 2 new recordings on the new album.
I have played stop right not a few times today, its ok but not a patch on the best songs from her last album. No bundles on offer which is strange from BMG in this era. I would love to know updated sales from her back catalogue ?? Liam could you help ? |

She has a very distinctive voice and i would have preferred the new album to be all new songs or mostly new songs after her been away so long, but i hope it can do ok if even for only 1 week.

I would love to know updated sales from her back catalogue ?? Liam could you help ? I don't think there's ever been a Gabrielle countdown given by the OCC so I have to go by BPI certifications: 1) 600k+ Dreams: Gold (July 1993)* 2) 600k+ If You Ever (with East 17): Platinum (September 2019) 3) 600k+ Rise: Platinum (March 2020) 4) 600k+ Out of Reach: Platinum (September 2020) 5) 400k+ Give Me a Little More Time: Gold (November 2018) 6) 200k+ Sunshine: Silver (July 2017) * 'Dreams' had sold 590k as of June 2013 but didn't get certified Platinum because it pre-dates the current OCC/BPI data base (Feb 1994+). It would have to sell 600k since that date in order to be certified Platinum. Two more songs sold over 100k in their respective years of release: 120k Walk On By (end of 1997) 109k When a Woman (end of 2000) I imagine 'When a Woman' has outsold 'Walk On By' now. As for her albums, we got three figures from August 2018: 1.434m for her 'Dreams Can Come True' greatest hits, 1.29m for 'Rise' and 49k for 'Always'. 1) Dreams Can Come True... 1.434m 2) Rise 1.29m 3) Gabrielle 300k+ 4) Find Your Way ~200k 5) Play to Win 100k+ 6) Now & Always: 20 Years of Dreaming 60k+ 7) Always 49k 8) Under My Skin |

Surely Dreams can't be too far from 1 million after all these years, it's still a modern day classic. I say that but I only ever listen to Heart 90s so no idea if it's played elsewhere.
The more I listen to this new song, the more I think it was a leftover from the last album. |

I'm quite surprised 'When A Woman' isn't at least silver!

'Out of Reach' does better than 'Dreams' on streaming (albeit worldwide) and that sold 200k within 5 years (certified Gold in October 2015 and Platinum in September 2020) so I guess 'Dreams' may have managed a similar amount since June 2013 when it was on 590k. |

Ah that's interesting to know, I'd always thought Rise would've been above Out of Reach. The video has now been uploaded, doesn't really help the song but looks like she's having a nice time. Wonder if there would be enough interest for a Gabrielle singles rate. |

I'm sure she'll do a good job with the covers, but I'm just not a fan of cover albums, so very disappointed
No bundles on offer which is strange from BMG in this era. I'm not that surprised. BMG did the bundles with acts like Kylie, Steps and Emma who all have a (maybe small but) very dedicated fanbase who want to buy multiple versions. Gabrielle doesn't strike me as someone with a very dedicated fanbase, but more a casual 'i'd buy her record' fanbase. |

I do agree Gabrielle would have a more casual fan base but sadly most casual fans probably wont even know of its release, i think they should do some signed copies as her loyal fanbase would snap them up.
