I got 15 out of 22.

how many can you get? And no Cheating! wink.gif

Posted by: 'Dan Jun 27 2015, 12:54 PM

17/22

my wrong answers were the most consecutive #1s question [damn you westlife], the sales gap question (that was really a guess, the difference between answers was barely anything), who kicked Whitney off #1 (thought it was Shaggy for some reason), the year Cher got a #1 and how many years between Kylie chart toppers

Posted by: Slick Jun 27 2015, 12:58 PM

12! It was actually quite tough. Some of the stuff you either know or you don't.

Posted by: Simon. Jun 27 2015, 01:03 PM

Wow I thought I'd smash this, got 9.

Posted by: Yorkie2 Jun 27 2015, 01:26 PM

I got 17, pretty happy with that, though a couple were guesses. The Pharrell Williams question isn't clear enough as it could mean either the number of separate periods at #1 or number of weeks.

Posted by: Dobbo Jun 27 2015, 01:27 PM

19! Surprised myself there laugh.gif

Annoyed that I got the Westlife one wrong. I thought it was Spice Girls!

Posted by: Rush Jun 27 2015, 01:50 PM

17/22! Felt I got lucky with a lot of those. (missed ABBA's last #1, the first #1 of the 21st century, Lily/Bastille, the X Factor Christmas #1 misses and 2010's #1s)

Posted by: Chez Wombat Jun 27 2015, 01:52 PM

12. Some I should've got (Westlife x2, ugh!)

Posted by: vidcapper Jun 27 2015, 02:02 PM

I only got 8 - but a lot of the questions fell between 1985 & 2003 when I wasn't following the charts. teresa.gif

Posted by: liamk97 Jun 27 2015, 02:11 PM

20! ohmy.gif I didn't get the last ABBA #1 or who stopped 'Vienna' getting to #1. Can't believe I actually remembered how many copies stopped Bastille getting to #1! laugh.gif

Beat that Bre. happy.gif

Well I didn't beat that (I got 15) but how did you not get the Vienna question? That's surely one of the few questions here that even non chart geeks could probably get (especially as there were two correct answers - I claim a bonus point for knowing both of them tongue.gif)

Ones I didn't get: years between Kylie's #1s, number of #1s in 2010, year of Cher's second #1 (I was certain she didn't have another one until 'Believe'!), number of sales between Lily Allen and Bastille, song that knocked Whitney off #1, last ABBA #1, longest running #1 of 2003

To be honest I don't even know what 'Vienna' sounds like! tongue.gif I'll probably know it if I listened as it is one of the biggest "shoulda been a #1". But yeah, I've never known what blocked it.

20/22!

Got the oldest person and Madge no.1's questions wrong.

Posted by: liamk97 Jun 27 2015, 03:07 PM

I almost got the oldest person to get a #1 wrong too - I thought Cher at first, then remembered that ghastly Comic Relief cover of 'Islands in the Stream' that Tom Jones featured on.

Speaking of Madge's #1s, you can rate them in the link in my signature. kink.gif

Posted by: Dircadirca Jun 27 2015, 03:43 PM

Oh I got 11.

I feel like Manics should count as the first #1 of the 21st century since Westlife first hit #1 at the end of 1999, but then to be more pedantic the 21st century is supposed to start at 2001, I'm certainly not bitter about getting it wrong

Posted by: donnahjaneymack Jun 27 2015, 07:47 PM

19 for me!

The ones I got wrong:
Lily/Bastille sales gap (I had no idea, I guessed, it was wrong).
longest runner at no1 in 2003 (was sure it was Beyonce).
Madonna's no1's (I tried counting them up in my head, but completely forgot about "Sorry" and "American Pie".)

Posted by: JosephStyles Jun 27 2015, 07:55 PM

I got 13, not too bad as some were complete guesses!

Posted by: paulgilb Jun 27 2015, 10:33 PM

Got 2 wrong: the Lily Allen-Bastille sales gap, and the first #1 of 2000 (ambiguously worded IMO).

Posted by: d4rud3 Jun 27 2015, 10:59 PM

I did terrible only got 7 but some were before my time

Posted by: n4yr Jun 27 2015, 11:18 PM

19/22

I got the sales gap wrong (pure guess), first number of the 21st century (went with the first new #1), and oldest person to have a #1 (I forgot about the Comic Relief single).

Posted by: andreweeyor Jun 27 2015, 11:19 PM

11

Posted by: Riser Jun 28 2015, 12:29 AM

13 for me! Mad that I guessed the Spice Girls instead of Westlife, Leona Lewis instead of JLS and Cher instead of Tom Jones but I definitely could've messed up a lot more.

Posted by: Common Sense Jun 28 2015, 07:59 AM

Only 12 for me. The more recent ones let me down.

Agree entirely with you here! Lost a point on the first no.1 for the same reason, so counting my 18 as a 19 (lol)

How do you mean? Did you go for the first NEW number 1?

Posted by: J▲hq Jun 28 2015, 12:42 PM

10

I thought Madonna was the oldest person to get a #1 because Madonna is old. sad.gif

Posted by: Mack Jun 28 2015, 02:10 PM

15/22.

I didn't. But I knew there was a risk that they'd worded it incorrectly and that I'd picked the right answer but not the one they were looking for.
