Lol. Normani is one of the best dancers in the industry and she's releasing stuff like this.
Give the girl an uptempo and a crowd to perform in front of already. |

This is stunning and a vibe. Between this and Wild Side which ended up being one of my favourite songs of last year I think her album is shaping up to be great .

I don't like the song, she keeps releasing boring music.

This is a strange critique for me as there is nothing wrong with showing versatility. Ciara is one of the best dancers in the industry too and yet some of her best songs are mid-tempos like ‘Dance Like We’re Making Love’, ‘Body Party’ and ‘Promise’. We all know Normani can dance the house down. I am really enjoying this as something different. |

When your solo career began four years ago and you've only released three singles in that time you need to grab the GP and get some bops under your belt. Securing a couple hits and establishing your name so you can drop an album is the priority here and she ain't going to do that with stuff like this. She's an AMAZING dancer and her basketball scene from Motivation and the dancing from Wild Side went viral on social media and is what people want from her. There's a million female artists out there who are singing these cute little midtempos and ballads but nobody can do choreo like Normani. It's bizarre her team aren't giving her something uptempo to work with. |

She seems to have fallen into the trap of releasing R&B midtempos (see also: Rowland, Kelendria) that even R&B radio stations aren't overly interested in, especially from an unestablished female solo artist. When she has a couple of solo hits under her belt she could start sending these to radio stations as they might be more receptive to them, but she has to get there first. This is cute enough but again, I don't see it making a splash. |

I believe it even went number 1 on Urban Radio in the US . She has uptempo stuff coming soon which she has been teasing both with her own music and apparently a collab with Calvin Harris . There’s nothing wrong with her wanting to express and show another side of her in the mean time and it shows versatility as an artist . I think cause she was in a pop group people just automatically expect her to be making mostly pop/uptempo music majority of the time but R&B music is clearly the lane she wants to head down and she’s even expressed herself is more authentically her . Apparently she's been telling fans to STFU about her not releasing any music.
Bye. |

I imagine it comes from a place of frustration where she isn't allowed to release music like Raye because of label issues. I'd hope so anyway.

Thing is, she isn't really doing anything to show people she's serious about her music career anyway. She never performs anywhere, she doesn't upload any acoustics/covers to her social media, she dissed Motivation once Wild Side was out and spends more time taking selfies and promoting make up than doing anything at all music related. I get the fact she's trapped by her label in terms of releasing music but she doesn't help herself. |

She just said she's got stuff going on in her personal life as to why she hasn't been releasing/doing stuff. I think we're all so used to celebrities being open books and she's just private idk.

at the end of the day she's an artist and the material she's released is fantastic
there's no denying there's a label issue at hand here - i can't see why Wild Side wasn't pushed more and an album or even a single released soon after. I love Normani's output though minus 'Motivation' which was musical suicide imo |
