Also, Robbie falls out of the chart play zone and Sean Paul climbs into the top thirty, in what is a jampacked daily update. Starley also hits the top 20 for the first time, thanks to a massive streaming gain. - Expect big changes tomorrow, there is an Ed Sheeran track - or more than one, planning to assault the chart, plus we have other top 10 contenders from The Chainsmokers (?) and Major Lazer, the latter of which will be aiming for #1. Expect top 40 challengers from Sia, Snakehips/MO, and Kiesza too

Today's chart update will come tomorrow morning when we get the Spotify update - as if I were to do it now we would have incomplete figures for the new releases because they'd have no streaming, so in order to establish as accurate of a chart as possible I'll be posting the FRIDAY update on Saturday morning with iTunes sales figures from 6pm today, and the SATURDAY update on Saturday night including the iTunes figures from then and the same Spotify figures. There'll be mininal difference because obviously I'll be using the same Spotify figures for both the Friday and Saturday updates, but for the sake of consistency it's worth updating for observation. Anyway, the schedule will go back to normal from then on, with updates from Sunday - Thursday coming at the usual time, with no compromised figures used. Hope it all makes sense!

The weekend effect has really halted the growth of new songs and favoured the more dated ones, we see - most notably Don't Leave by Snakehips which falls 19-32 (13 places). |
