Chart Analysis

Helped by its top 20 finish in BJSC, Nora En Pure remains at the top for a second week with 'Trailblazer', a feat that Darren Styles & Stonebank failed to manage earlier in the year as they dropped to #3 following their week at #1. Interest in her back catalogue has shot up as well as that of her latest single 'Sphinx', the week's biggest climber, which shoots back into the top 40 this week at a new peak of #21, smashing its entry position of #40. With the current lack of competition, and that her lead is increasing, we could see the song remain at #1 again next week.

The top three remains as it is, with Rudimental and friends holding on to #2 with 'These Days' and CLiQ spending a third consecutive week at #3 (its fourth in total) with 'Wavey' (feat. Alika). It still has a while to go to beat the current record, set by MK's '17' with its six weeks at #3 without charting any higher. Drake climbs back to #4, where he entered and peaked six weeks ago with 'God's Plan'. Post Malone climbs to #5 with 'Psycho' (feat. Ty Dolla $ign), giving him his second top ten hit as I predicted it would last week.

Also entering the top ten are Sonny Alven & Dragonette with 'Awake', catapulting 21 places to this week's #6 as it impacts. It is the first top ten hit for Alven, and fourth for Dragonette. It is worth noting that these two entries push Avicii out of the top ten with 'Lonely Together' for the second time, though the first non-artificial drop (having previously fell 6-17 from the Christmas effect). It sits at #12 this week. Also of note is KSHMR's eight place climb to #20 with 'House Of Cards'.

The top 40 is rounded out by five new entries, which join the re-entry for 'Sphinx' at #21. The highest of these is from Sammy Porter with 'What We Started (A Bit Patchy)' (feat. Jessica Agombar), up to #30 following three weeks spent just outside. It is the first hit for both acts. As BJSC 102 is now complete, entries from the contest are now chart eligible which lets two of them straight into the top 40. The Cowtermont entry 'Capricorn' (feat. WOLFE) by Xan Griffin got our 18 points so unsurprisingly is the highest of these at #31. It is also the chart debut for both acts. Purple Haze (Sander Van Doorn) enters at #34 with 'Choir 1.0', having represented Dobago. It is Sander's first chart hit under the Purple Haze alias, alongside eight top 40 hits as Sander Van Doorn.

Andrew Rayel is a non-BJSC associated act, but nonetheless also has a brand new entry in the top 40 with 'Horizon' (feat. Lola Blanc). His previous highest charting hit was 'Never Let Me Go' which stalled at #41. 'Horizon' enters at #35 this week to get him his first. Lola Blanc previously featured on TheFatRat's #7 hit 'Oblivion', so this becomes her second top 40 hit. Finally, climbing one place to #40 is Dim3nsion with 'Agarimo', claiming his first top 40 hit.

Outside the top 40 new entries come from BJSC acts Brunelle, The Presets, Trivecta, Maria Nayler, Audio Paradyne & Stahl and Goreshit, alongside entries from CamelPhat & Audio Bullys, Not3s, Fatboy Slim, Gorgon City, XXXTENTACION, LIONE, Different Heaven and MNEK.
