Chart Commentary

A big thank you to all those 12 of you who commented on last week's personal chart, including Sven10, JSG, 360Jupiter, Jason, toffonews, M4NG0, Dobbo, HarryEzra, seltinpixmile, JosephStyles, AH Gold and PeteFromLeeds.

Well, it's been coming, Katy Perry is back where she belongs, at the top of the chart. Chained To The Rhythm becomes the sixth #1 of 2017 to feature on my Top 40 Countdown, and is the first Brit performance of 2017 to reach the summit.

Not far behind her and Mr. Marley are another Brit performance from The Chainsmokers & Coldplay which climbs into the Top 5 on its second week. The Chainsmokers have a total of 3 different songs within the Top 40 this week! Jax Jones looses some popularity which makes room for former #1 from Snakehips feat. MØ to climb a spot.

Martin Jensen has climbed an impressive 18 places this week to reach the Top 10 with Solo Dance. Dante Klein, who previously featured on a Cheat Codes single, enters the Top 10 after 5 weeks of relatively stable chart movement.

Other noteworthy climbers this week are Anne-Marie, Kygo & Selena Gomez and also Sia too. All have the potential to peak even higher in future weeks!

Bebe Rexha is this week's highest chart debutant, and following her into this week's chart are KATO & Sigala feat. Hailee Steinfeld, Lost Kings feat. Tinashe and a belated late entry from The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk (but not Starboy)!
