So another new season of the European cup begins this week with the Preliminary Qualifying tournament for the 4 lowest ranking Euro coefficient leagues:

La Fiorita(Malta) vs Inter D’Escalades (Andorra)
Levadia Tallinn (Estonia) vs Vikinger Reykjavik (Iceland)

The winners meet on Friday in Reykjavik to fight for the right to play Malmo in the 1st round in July with the losers dropping into the Europa Conference qualifying rounds!

Here we are again! It still feels a bit unfair to me that the 'Champions League' kicks a lot of the champions out before it starts in favour of numerous runners up from the biggest leagues but I'm sure there's a reason for it.

Gonna have to watch completely as a neutral this season sad.gif

Jurgen Klopp told Liverpool fans to book the hotel for Istanbul after last season's final ended, he must have been talking in jest of course but you wouldn't bet against it actually happening. Can't imagine Real Madrid retaining it and another failure to win this trophy for Manchester City is incoming.

Ha I think he meant that in relation to the last time Real beat us we won the following year! I’d take that now 😁

I think Celtic and Rangers have a chance to put two Scottish sides into the Top 16 with those draws, also Group B, C, and H are insane.

No way either are going through. Celtic should inish 3rd, Rangers are in a tough group, think they will be very lucky to finish 3rd.

Rangers' Champions League match with Napoli has been put back 24 hours to Wednesday at 20:00 BST, Uefa has announced.

Uefa said the rescheduling was "due to the severe limitations on police resources and organisational issues related to the ongoing events surrounding the national mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II"

Rangers fell to their third consecutive heavy defeat without scoring despite a more encouraging performance against Napoli on a dramatic night in the Champions League.

Matteo Politano's penalty and late strikes from Giacomo Raspadori and Tanguy Ndombele secured victory, but only after Allan McGregor twice denied Piotr Zielinski from the spot.

James Sands was sent off for conceding the first penalty and, though McGregor saved twice following a VAR check for encroachment, he did not deny Politano.

The Italian forward put the ball low into the corner beyond the reach of the 40-year-old Rangers keeper after Borna Barisic was penalised for handball.
