Since 1997 was a special year for me I'm working on a Spotify playlist to share all the fantastic songs that were released in 1997 and will be 20 years old - yes 20! Scary isn't it?

I'd leave off My Heart Will Go On as it's very much a 1998 song in the UK, the film Titanic came out in '98 here too. Also is that the Fatboy Slim remix of Brimful of Asha or the original?

I'm doing a similar blog/playlist soon for 1997 on my blog. Quite a few have already mentioned my favourites from that year, so I'll mention a couple I love that haven't already had a look in:
Dannii Minogue - All I Wanna Do. Strange to remember this was her big "comeback" moment into pop music. She looked amazing with the blonde hair too! And of course the first proper Brian Higgins/Xenomania production to hit the charts. North and South - Tarantino's New Star. I loved "No Sweat", the CBBC series they starred in at the time (sort of a proto S Club 7), and I had this on cassette when it was released. An epic barnstorming pop nugget! Cathy Dennis - "Waterloo Sunset". Admittedly a cover, but a blindingly good one to boot. Ray Davies from the Kinks produced her version, and indeed a lot of her final studio album "Am I The Kinda Girl" which had some proper Britpop type gems on it. Boyzone - "Picture of You". This for me was one of their finest hours this single. And I can do a surprisingly effective impression of Ronan Keating singing this
