Lucy Spraggan confirmed on Facebook today that her new album would be called 'We Are' and will be released in April!

'Join The Club' was fantastic, and Lucy is one of only a few artists I've ever seen live and she was absolutely great. Can't wait for new music from her!

She will be announcing lots more news on Monday as this picture shows:

Haha! I guess that means the physical version will have another special type case just like 'Join The Club' had so at least that's the positive. wub.gif

Is one of her songs featuring in a TV ad at the mo?

I can't remember the product but I've heard it a few times now.

Yeah she is singing a song for an advert although I can't remember which one it is, I believe it's a song especially for the advert and it isn't on this album.

My signed album arrived today, it is a special case as we expected. It feels a lot more mature than Join the Club, that's not to say there weren't plenty of mature moments on that album too as there were! There are quite a few folk influenced tracks which is a sound I love and overall it is just a fantastic album as the production complements Lucy's lyrics perfectly. Lucy also "sings" more on this album but it's still a very distinctive album.

My highlight has to be the sensational "The Postman". For me Lucy shines brightest when she manages to recreate such emotional stories in her lyrics (see Tea & Toast, You're Too Young) and this is the prime example on We Are. Even though from quite early on in they song you had an idea how it could ende, and even though it did end as I expected it did out tears in my eyes. 'Until I Lived My Life' was another example of this.

Another interesting track to mention is 'Uninspired' which I'm interpreting to be about the label that released Join the Club and it really shows how negatively she was treated by them, she also makes a remark on this in the Thank You notes. There is still plenty of uptempo tracks though and overall the album is a fantastic mix between anthemic, uplifting uptempos and emotional and beautifully written slow numbers.

It's difficult to compare it to Join the Club as each song on both albums feels like brand new stories and this album is just the perfect continuation of that album for me.

I can't believe this is her third album! I Didn't even know she'd released two before this.

Most of the tracks on Join the Club were also on Top Room at the Zoo iirc.

Yeah, that's right! Join the Club was more of a re-release with proper studio production qualities than a new album, but at the end of the day I guess they are separate albums.

(This is top 15 on iTunes! ohmy.gif)

Dropped to #73 in the mids, Expected but such a shame as its a really good album... Hope they continue with this project and we get a 2nd single but after the first missed the Top 100 and the album looking likely to spend 1 week in the Top 75 I wouldn't be surprised if that's that last of this era cry.gif
