Golden and Disco offered us very enjoyable third singles with Golden and Real Groove.
Which song is your preference? |

When i first heard the Golden album, golden the song i didnt rate at all, it was one of the more disappointing songs on the album for me but after a while it grew on me and i really like the song, real groove i always liked from the first time i heard it but have got to like it even more since it became a single, both are good songs but real groove gets my vote.

Real Groove has a more chart friendly sound to it.
Golden would have less appeal outside of the fanbase. That said,Golden received much less of a push as a single from the label in comparison to Real Groove. |

Didnt golden only get some sort of a push when they released a lifetime to repair, from what i remember it was all quiet messy, I think the Weiss remix was released at the time 'A Lifetime to Repair' was added to radio and the country edit was released. Then of course a similar thing happened when 'A Lifetime to Repair' was performed on X Factor when we were preparing ourselves for 'Music's Too Sad Without You' to be pushed. In response to the poll, I love both songs. I thought 'Golden' was a great feel-good song released in time to celebrate Kylie's 50th and was a great tour opener, but 'Real Groove' takes it for me; really catchy and contemporary. |

A digital ep of Golden including the Weiss remix was released at the time of release of A Lifetime To Repair.

'Real Groove', this isn't even remotely a competition for me.

The 2 previous posts before me highlight how opinions vary so greatly with fans.

I love both! Golden is a highlight for me from the album of the same name, and like Liam said it made for a great tour opener! However, for the exact same reason as Liam again, it has to be Real Groove Not just one of the best DISCO tracks, but a stand out in her whole discography, for me *.*

I never considered Golden a proper single and just something thrown out in time for her 50th birthday.

It got sent to radio, had a music video, a TV performance and a remix released, which I think is enough to consider it a proper single. It might not have got as big of a campaign around it as the two pre-album singles but I think that's just a sign of the times.

The singles that followed Golden felt more pushed but with that said Third singles and after have little chance of success.
In terms of third singles Real Groove has done ok. |

Ideally music's too sad without you would have been the 3rd single and golden fourth. Golden though is a good song and is reflective of the album and the same can be said for real groove.

Yes agree, both these singles are good representatives of their parent albums.
Golden is clearly more heartfelt both lyrically and vocally and I really enjoy it. Real Groove is is a much more creative and clever pop song, definitely one of her best ever. It deserves so much more success but I’m also thankful it has managed some better streaming numbers for her. I really hope it is performed on a tour or TV/ festival at some point to ignite some wider interest. |

Not much in it, but I prefer Golden. More just the song, rather than as a single choice.
I can see Real Groove was a good single choice. And Kylie has done some great stuff with it. For me, it's the sentiment of the lyrics that doesn't particularly appeal. A little too salty. Golden's lyrics are uplifting and cleverly written. So that got my vote. This post has been edited by McAndrew: Mar 11 2021, 10:38 PM |

Its amazing how a song can change mindsets if released as a single or stays as an album track, 2 hearts isnt a bad song at all but it was more a bad choice of lead single, if it was an album track for example i think i would like it alot more and i kinda feel the same about a lifetime to repair i dont think it was right for a single, real groove and golden felt right as single choices and i like the songs just as much whether they stayed as albums tracks or as they now are, singles.

Agreed on 'Lifetime to Repair'.
When I first heard it, I thought it'd be a favourite album track. But then it was released as a single... 😳 But I guess the lack of a proper video didn't help. |

I like 'Golden', but honestly I think I perhaps could have done without it as a single. It's pretty inessential for me.
