I like the idea of fight-dancing (or whatever it's called) but not for the whole video, I'd also like something toned down like the teaser we got.

I f***ing LOVE this video. It's made the song click with me even more too. So beautiful! I always under estimate or get over excited for her videos, but because this era hasn't blown me away like it usually does with her, I think I've been a little more surprised. Very pleased with the video... VERY.

That video is sublime. P!nk is a genuine artist, it's just a shame this album seems to have been recorded on autopilot. Nobody else among her contemporaries thinks outside the box with their visuals like she is capable of and has done here.

Saw the video on my break at work today....oh wow!!! I honestly think this could be my favourite Pink video now over Nobody Knows.
Oh and Regina, the guy in the video for you.... https://twitter.com/Colt_RT Some reviews I have found... By RollingStone Pink Gives Love a 'Try' Turbulent ballroom dance moves become metaphor for relationship In her new video for "Try," Pink stands triumphant in a desert and shows off some impressive ballroom dance moves with an unnamed lover as she sings, "You gotta get up and try, try, try." The message is of perseverance, and as the choreography unfolds, the dancing becomes a metaphor for the ups and downs of love and relationships. There's violence, sex, tenderness, aggression and remorse in the moves, tied together with another gigantic chorus from Pink. Eat your heart out, Dancing With The Stars. ----------------------------------------------- By Sam Lansky from Idolator When she was teasing the video for her new single “Try,” Pink explained that it was her favorite video ever to shoot, and now we know why. The clip, which premiered this morning on Vevo, is elegant, complicated and audacious — like Pink at her best. Directed by Floria Sigismondi and choreographed by The Golden Boyz, “Try” depicts the conflict and attraction between Pink and her man (portrayed in the video by a ridiculously muscular shirtless guy — one of those dudes who’s about 90% torso), as expressed through an interpretive dance that’s variously erotic and violent. As the passion between the couple ramps up in intensity, they wind up soaring through the desert, covered in rainbow paint. (It sounds strange, but it works marvelously.) Although Pink’s videos are often driven by self-consciousness and irony, she plays it totally straight in this one, giving an emotive performance that communicates volumes, all while executing impressively acrobatic dance moves. “Try” comes on the (Lucite) heels of Christina Aguilera‘s “Your Body” video, which also played with ideas of sexualized violence, but whereas “Your Body” went for laughs, Pink’s effort is genuinely stirring. It also does a fine job of differentiating the song, which feels pedestrian compared to Pink’s more affecting downtempo tracks (see: “Please Don’t Leave Me,” “Who Knew”). --------------------------------------------- By Toya from Toyaz World Epic! That is one word that can be used to describe Pink‘s new music video for ‘Try’, which premiered earlier today. The breathtaking visual was crafted by Canadian director Floria Sigismondi and serves as the second visual from Pink’s new album ‘The Truth About Love’. Now, if you’re not drawn to EVERY SECOND of this video, I will be amazed. The amazingly powerful visual sees Pink reinventing the Apache dance, and shows just how physically strong, and acrobatic she truly is. I’ve always said that Pink is an underrated dancer and if this video does not confirm it, I honestly don’t know what will! The concept, which portrays the physical expression of battle between men and women, was engaging, powerful, artistic and straight passionate. Pink gives insight to what her sex life with husband Carey looks like! On a serious note, the video totally reflects the meaning of the lyrics, and I feel it’s the best video to drop since Rihanna‘s ‘We Found Love’. I will even go as far as to say Pink outdid herself. Always admirable seeing an artist setting the boundaries. ------------------------------------------------ By Giant Unplugged That damn P!nk never ceases to amaze me. Not only is she back with a new album [The Truth About Love] that’s collecting rave reviews. But the alternative Pop star is pushing visual boundaries with a brand new video called “Try”. Take a few moments to checkout Pink’s visuaully stunning video above. It’s fantastic. I’m not a P!nk fan like that. But this right here just made me a believer. |
