So the dance forum has been an iconic forum for quite some time now, it's about time we saw which posters are the biggest fans of dance music.

not been here for long so not sure who used to post here back in the day but expecting thermo, ethan and ketalina all gon' be top 10!

Posted by: Dobbo Nov 16 2014, 04:40 PM

Just missed out on the top 50 ohmy.gif . Surprised I'm that high considering I've only been posting a year smile.gif

32 204 Ryan.
33 200 GRIFF
34 196 Where is Ella?
35 194 BLUE
36 194 FM11
37 190 SITCHUAISHAAAN
38 180 AntoineTTe
39 175 Jester
40 174 Rooney

Starting the top 40 then is global mod and veteran poster Rooney. Not to be seen in here much these days, having migrated to the lounge, he was a bit of a fan back in the day but has even posted a bit recently, having started the topic for Daft Punk's Random Access Memories.

Another global mod next and it's the legend that is Jester. Always a great poster who does like a good house tune and posts in here from time to time.

AntoineTTE is next, with his love for 90s dance in particular putting him in this list. Whilst he may be seen as a grumpy old man his opinions are welcome for being different and him being more intelligent than the average buzzjack user.

SITCHUAISHAAAN, I've no idea who this is so must be either before my time or a name change that passed me by is next alongside FM11.

Paverella may not be a massive fan of dance music, with criticism for any super-mainstream-sell-out DJ, but he has posted here enough to be top 40 so well done. Next to him is Where is Ella aka Kath who has really shone as a dance forum poster recently, not just in the dance forum but in BJSC too, introducing us to tunes such as Prelude. Keep on going and you'll be top 20 soon!

Just outside the top 30 is Griff, Ryan and Mushymanrob.

ketalina up next with 21 - 30!

Posted by: Jester Nov 16 2014, 04:54 PM

21 - 30

21 239 russt68
22 234 Ricky
23 231 Nick F1
24 229 ░░░░
25 226 Rob S
26 226 Joao.
27 216 Eric_Blob
28 211 Jack
29 209 GRIMLY FIENDISH
30 209 Musicmaster

In the top 30 we have a member quite before my time in Musicmaster. With a name like that you would imagine he would've dominated all of the genres forum charts but alas dance must've escaped him, letting 29 of his fellow peers speed past him (probably on speed too).

A surprising inclusion in GRIMLY FIENDISH who despite having a name that sounded like he'd be found in the Slayer tent on PCP trying to headbang himself into vertigo would probably be found sneaking in the back of Armand Van Helden's side tent trying to get one last shopping trolley out to 'Bonkers'.

Jack represents your more chart friendly dance music connoisseur. At his peak in the 2009-2011 David Guetta and Alex Gaudino chart era, Jack would be found Taking Over Control with Eva Simons crying into his copy of 'Silly Boy' wondering where Britain went wrong with her, but still throwing mad shapes to the best male producer/female diva collabs in the Western World.

Eric_Blob continues to be a sporadic presence within the forum (I assume at his peak when the dance-rap collabs put their best foot forward at the end of last decade), whilst Rob S and Joao. show themselves to be names from the past who don't grace the Dance side as much anymore. Where did you go? Don't you dance these days??

Our beloved and undoubtedly marmite ░░░░ (dotJake) takes a hot minute from blocking out the haters to throw in an underrated dance gem or an up-and-coming future hit that you've just not heard yet. With his blogosphere knowledge, he lends an interesting angle to the forum and takes it past the Top 40 smashers and DJ List Top 100 to show a new blossoming side of dance which might very well be the future.

NickF1 continues to excert European flair with massive smashers and hyped new releases from the best that Europe has to offer, whilst Ricky and russt68 could be found trying to blow the dust off each other as they sit at the back of the shelf. Bye guys.

Back to Thermo!

Nice to see me just outside of the Top 40 despite just recently joining the forum in the past year ~ would comment on the others but I don't really have too much to say, I wonder who will be #1?

Posted by: Harve Nov 16 2014, 05:20 PM

I've either made less than 58 posts or more than 239. I *think* it's the latter but I'm not sure!

18 - 20

18 279 { bré }
19 247 JDL
20 245 Atonement

Starting the top 20 off is Atonement. Sadly missing from not only the dance forum but buzzjack as a whole now, he was a big fan of eurodance such as Inna pre-sellout. At #19 is JDL who pre-dates me so I can't comment any further on him. One place higher than him though is Bré. When he's not taking part in shoutbox or chart forum banter he does like to stop off in the dance forum to discuss big tunes and comment on forum rates. Amongst his fave dance tunes is 'Language' which is super amazing and one of the best songs ever, so yeah, nice to have another big fan of it. Expect him to climb rapidly whenever The Prodigy show any sign of releasing a new album (seriously guys it's been over 5 years now why don't you release something!!!!111)

Same here, but I have a feeling it's the former. Which is weird if that's the case that so few of my 14000+ posts have been in here.

Posted by: ► ▲ N Nov 16 2014, 07:02 PM

I can exclusively reveal Iz that you're NOT in the chart ohmy.gif

Posted by: M¤th Nov 16 2014, 07:20 PM

Language continues to remain one of the best dance songs ever, so much quality in that one tune heart.gif If only it was bigger than a short-lived #9 hit.

Posted by: مدهش* Nov 16 2014, 07:30 PM

Colour me genuinely surprised, I adore electronic music.

Posted by: { bré } Nov 17 2014, 01:15 AM

Kinda surprised to see myself that high as I feel like I barely ever post in the genre forums and when I do it's usually in the Indie forum.

But yes The Prodigy need to hurry up with that new album, it was promised for this year and all!!1!

16 - 17

16 310 Liаm
17 282 Simon.

Next in our countdown is Simon who at 17 racks up an impressive tally of 282 posts, but rarely rears his head past the Pop Forum these days to add to that total. To add to the anti-Dance pro-Pop conspiracy is the leader of said forum Liam who shows he can be enough of a traitor to his own ground when he wants to be, being the first person to rack up 300+ posts in our countdown so far. Not averse to the odd boogie here and there, Liam showed his upmost appreciation in the dance forum of recent when he embraced the Disclosure / Duke Dumont / Avicii onslaught of early 2013 and has been a consistent commentor on the future hits and chart ready dancefloor destroyers that have popped up since. Dance forum is still better tho. #nostandardisationallstandards

14 - 15

14 327 jark
15 324 ✖ ketalina ✖

At #14 we have Jark. Having now moved on with his life, he occasionally posts in the lounge, but dance forum posts are a real rarity now, and since the chart was compiled ketalina has overtook him, being only 3 posts behind here which lands him at #15. This means that the highest current dance mod is myself, will I be #1 though? ohmy.gif ketalina is a great addition to the mod team anyway and with his big knowledge of unknown dance pleasures, like the one linked in this post, it's great having him here. Not just for that but also for his witty commentary (which is why he's co-hosting this countdown with me)

11 383 JonieWonie
12 378 Mikal
13 347 Harve

Just before we break into the Top 10, we look at the names that just missed out on the countdown. At 11 and 12 once again are a couple of names quite before my time but I seem to recall are well-remembered for their pop hoe ways and can imagine would've joined Jack on the commercial dance train of the late noughties with a season pass, before getting off and making the visit to our lovely little forum a one-way affair. At 13 however is a much more prominent name - electronic enthusiast Harve who is VERY much known for his love of dance music. This includes but is not limited to throwback classics, nugen 90's inspired jams, deep underground hits that would slam the dancefloor from the middle of a SubClub setlist, Boiler Room headliners and future-house PC Music faves, representing the best of the more unknown but the equally as infectious dance anthems that everyone really SHOULD be listening to. In honour of r Harv I've included a firm mutual fave that soundtracked a lot of my 2013 and I'm aware it did the same for him too!! SO GOOD.

9 - 10

9 520 *Ben*
10 429 Eth▲n

Starting off the top 10 is the amazing Ethan who always has something to say about a new dance song, even if it's just "sick~ music.gif", but we love him for that. With his massively good taste it's great having him here especially when he introduces us to the next big hit (like the one quoted) or something underground. He'll definitely be ~pushing on~ in this countdown next time we do the reveal, there is quite a big gap between 9 and 10 though. At #9 is former dance mod *Ben* who stepped down about a year ago. We don't hear from him that much except in chart chat where he posts a bit, and occasionally visits the dance forum but generally not as active on the site as he used to be.

7 575 DancingInTomKayn
8 533 Jonjo

Jonjo??? A DANCE music fiend? Who would've believed? Keri Hilson must've took a hot minute from laborious studio time and preparing coffee for Michelle Williams who was taste-testing it for her 'friend' Beyoncé to allow Jonjo to venture outside the walls of the R&B forum, popping in and letting us HAVE IT with his nice-guy attitude and opinions on the dance hits of the day. Although I wasn't around in his era of dominating this forum, I imagine him to have dropped it like it was SCALDING to Roll Deep's run of form in 2009 and I know I was too so hi-five sister. Vine link pending as well because I know that's how we roll.

One half of the 2 Bears in spirit Tom Kay (who is sadly no longer with us but not in an otherworldly way just in that whole 'I have a life' way) always represented the best in Italo-Disco, cheesy 90's style bangers, Eurodance and some gritty house bangers that the world just wasn't ready for yet. In his honour the song above was an unjust DNQ from his BJSC nation Numayania, who also provided us with the astonishing 'Coma Cat' and is a shining example of taste that would've been included in that hefty near-600 post count. 6 622 j-jay

Now we have two posters who were before my time, which unfortunately means I don't have much to say about them. j-jay was a dance mod back in the day and started numerous dance topics, including this KLASSIK from 2006/7. ScottyEm was also a regular here back in the day, not starting nearly as many topics as j-jay but posting more than him.

GASP! Buzzjack Dance KING only at #03?! Phil you might want to halt that Buzzjack Forum skin update (again LOL) and recheck your numbers because we have a DANCE MUSIC EMERGENCY! Yes, many had him touted for the top of the pile in this countdown but fellow co-mod and Dance Forum saviour ► ▲ N (also known as Thermo) has to settle for 3rd place, which if you take into account the length of time he's actually graced the Buzzjack Forums is impressive! He will always keep you in the loop regarding the DJ Hot 100 mainstays, the BIG new releases and goings on in the world of EDM, as well as the future Europe / USA big hitters that will dominate your Summer. He's also the ying to my yang in terms of our dance tastes, alerting you to the more commercial side (a side I know near to NOTHING about) as opposed my more blogcentric side (something he does actually know a little bit about - I'm becoming MOOT). Long may you bring those sick ~VIBEZ~ to the children who just want to sweat out a Molly and hump their neighbours, kid. Just below Dan but not even CLOSE to snatching any sort of #IMPAKT-related weave is mr_aly who still pops his head in and bops his head out to the best new tunes and the next big chart hitter, showing that there IS life outside hauling Avril Lavigne up the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. The song is in dedication to my co-mod - where an obsession REALLY began you might say <333

So who will be #01? ohmy.gif

Well I've kept y'all waiting but now I reveal~

2 - 1

1 1837 Euphorique
2 1088 gooddelta

The winner is Euphorique, who slays here by a Texan country mile, he's unlikely to be overtaken anytime soon anyway but it could happen one day as he very rarely posts on Buzzjack now. He used to be the dance forum king and was a forum moderator until ketalina replaced him earlier this year due to lack of activity. He's a big fan of 90s/00s dance music and not such a fan of newer stuff which partly explains his disappearance. In second place is buzzjack's constant presence gooddelta, who may not seem like one on the outside but really is a massive dance music stan, especially late 90s stuff like the song linked above but is open to most musical genres and we can all agree he's a great poster. WD on being ahead of me guys~

How in God's name have I managed top 10? Lmao.

I blame Cascada tbh, although 2008-2010 was a decent period for dance music. H Two O, Basshunter, Roll Deep and Scooter around the time they beat out a 2nd week Madonna to top the album chart *.* But yeah not surprised at that top 2. Especially with Euphorique winning. Master of all things Dance, imo.
