This was really good, T'Challa and Killmonger were both super hot.
I don't think we saw enough of Killmonger as a villain though, I could understand where he came from. |

I watched this today and I enjoyed it a lot. My favourite scenes were the final scene where the two Erik Killmonger & Black Panther were fighting each other underground, the scene where members of tribes were fighting once Black Panther reappeared after being seemingly killed, and majority of the scenes that featured Klaue. It's a shame that Klaue didn't appear in the film for longer as he was a really interesting character who was played very well by Andy Serkis.

If you didn't want anything to be spoiled then you should have waited until you saw the film before opening this thread. |

The film is barely out, you could have put major plot points into a spoiler tag until a reasonable amount of time had passed. I like to see how people react to movies and how well they do at the box office so I should be allowed to come here if I want to

As predicted.. MONSTROUS!! QUOTE Marvel and Walt Disney’s Black Panther has earned a smashing $192 million Fri-Sun and likely $218m Fri-Mon holiday opening. That’s the biggest February opening weekend ever, the biggest solo superhero launch (we can expect Deadpool to comment later this week), the biggest holiday opening (bigger than the $200m Wed-Sun opening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009), the biggest Fri-Mon launch (bigger than the $153m Fri-Mon opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End in 2007) and the biggest non-sequel launch of all time. We’ve known that movies fronted by minorities could be huge box office hits at least, at LEAST, since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker’s Rush Hour opened with $31 million in September of 1998. That’s not even counting the likes of Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop or Will Smith’s many, many hits. And let’s not forget those Fast and Furious moves, which proved that diverse casts were totally box office poison by earning record-breaking sums in China and around the world. Incredible

On a second watch the film, admittedly did drag a little, I have to say. The South Korea/finale parts are still huge and amazing but everything between that was a bit too long, and I think should have been edited down by about 15 minutes. It's still one of my favourite MCU films though.

Actuals are in and it opened with 201+ millions for a 3-day weekend and 235 million for a 4-day weekend.
Massive. I watched it last night and omg it blew my mind...I actually didn't feel like it was dragging at all. The way the story got unfolded and revealed, I was so impressed with that  Also worth mentioning that laugh out loud moments were really good  |

a good 8/10, a superhero movie with some comments well-deserved on society and the world. Also one of the best Nelson Mandela impressions I've seen in a film, albeit in a totally hot way. If good-looking people weren't hired to be ogled at there's nothing stopping hiring those of us not blessed with the gift of looking unremarkable (at least facially, the job still needs a super-fit bod)...
Good cast, one of the upper middling MU movies, and better than quite a few. |

I do appreciate that this is bringing a taste of something fresh and new to the MCU but to be perfectly honest, I did find it a little dull at times and found myself feeling a little bored. I feel like it could have done with a little cutting down because this is the first time I've thought that an MCU felt overlong for a long time. Lupita Nyong'o and Danai Gurira completely killed it in their roles so I can't wait to see more of them especially. I was surprised at how genuinely funny it was at times though too, I belly laughed at Okoye using her wig as a weapon in the casino omg!!
