Mariah's 2008 album has had resurgence and hit number one on the US iTunes
omg what year have I landed in?
Is there something that triggered the sales resurgence?
'Migrate' to FINALLY receive single status please *.*
It was the 12th anniversary 2 weeks ago so I guess people are rediscovering it
Caution deserves this, can't believe it only scraped the top 40 here :'(
'Bye Bye' has the iconic wiping a tear away moment in the video though *.*
Wtf this is so random! But so welcome! What is the actual reason though? A 12 year anniversary is not more special than any other year.
It's literally just the power of her fanbase wanting it to go back to #1!
Second time after ‘Glitter’, the power of the Lambs is real *.*
I LOVED this album at the time. Embarrassingly I wasn't much of a fan until this era.
Wtf! I thought when I seen that on Twitter it was some edited joke and not genuine!
Wonder what impact it’ll have on the charts next week.
I’ll Be Loving U Long Time is such an underrated fave!
This is so random though!
Top 30 on UK iTunes too - you love to see it.
The lambs are powerful !!
Random but amazing news! *.*
It's made me revisit the album today. I'm sure I haven't heard it from beginning to end since 2008 (although I listen to certain tracks from it every now and then). It's a great album and it holds up really well after 12 years! I'll definitely return to it more often.
Obviously Migrate is the major fan favourite and considered as a missed single opportunity (Mariah does too). It does seem strange that her label didn't at least target Urban radio with it, considering that it was so warmly received... apart from by Perez Hilton, weirdly, and supposedly his influence~ at the time is what contributed to Migrate not being released. Ugh!
After that listen through, it's reminded me that I'm That Chick was my favourite album track at the time, and I still love it now. My Last.fm stats begin in 2012 and before today I hadn't listened to it at all in the past 8 years. I'll definitely be playing it a lot more from now on. I really like Thanx 4 Nothin' too.
So strange that I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time wasn't a bigger hit. Bye Bye was lovely but it seemed to stall the album campaign after the great start with Touch My Body. Maybe they thought it would be a bit of a One Sweet Day moment, but it should have remained as an album track imo.
OMG I love her random bursts of success recently, can this become a more common thing please
It was to do with the physical release being cancelled for I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time underperforming if I remember correctly in the UK. I know it got playlisted.
Releasing Bye Bye as a single was if the label was trying to recreate the magic that We Belong Together had in the US but it failed miserably. The Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel era had the same thing with I Want To Know What love Is being randomly pushed as a single 👀👀
Memoirs is an absolutely fantastic album, such a shame it's so overlooked
It’s up to #19 on iTunes
'Bye Bye' really was terrible.
'Loving U Long Time' is one of her best.
Does this stand a chance of making the Album chart? Although, I guess realistically the streams wont be high enough
She sung a bit of Last Kiss, I know many aren't a fan but it's one of my faves!
Cute! (Even though it's my least favourite song on the album )
The downloads won't be strong enough in the UK to make the Top 200, but she has a very good chance of entering the Top 100 downloads chart.
The download chart would be good enough for me! Perhaps it may get in the R&B chart too
I wonder how much the album has sold to date? is 160k too optimistic?
'Lovin U Long Time' got quite a bit of play on R2.
Migrate and I’m That Chick are better than Loving U Long Time
As much as Caution was a move in the right direction, E=MC2 was her last fully decent album imo. I would welcome a return to form along the lines of this album any day to get her some commercial success. I would have gone Touch My Body, Love You Long Time, I Stay In Love and Migrate as singles however Side Effects is my fav song on the album.
Oh oop, it didn't enter the UK Download Top 100 I know that the #100 sold 81 downloads, so Mariah sold less than that.
31 in the R&B chart atleast
