Mariah's 2008 album has had resurgence and hit number one on the US iTunes cheer.gif

It's also making moves in the UK and is currently at #19. This is amazing to see.

She's going to perform a song of the album for the fans heart.gif

omg what year have I landed in?

Posted by: pippa 27th April 2020, 07:23 PM

Is there something that triggered the sales resurgence?

'Migrate' to FINALLY receive single status please *.*

Posted by: joyride 27th April 2020, 07:33 PM

It's a travesty that Migrate wasn't the 2nd single. Such a waste.

Caution deserves this, can't believe it only scraped the top 40 here :'(

YES! A bop.

I'm going to listen to this album again, I also loved 'For The Record' wub.gif The singles were all over the place, I only really like 'Touch My Body' and 'I'll Be Loving U Long Time' - 'Bye Bye' and 'I Stay In Love' were terrible choices.

Posted by: Jonjo 27th April 2020, 08:10 PM

'Bye Bye' has the iconic wiping a tear away moment in the video though *.*

Posted by: Scene 27th April 2020, 08:38 PM

Wtf this is so random! But so welcome! What is the actual reason though? A 12 year anniversary is not more special than any other year. tearsmile.gif

Posted by: Jack 27th April 2020, 09:26 PM

It's literally just the power of her fanbase wanting it to go back to #1! laugh.gif

I’ll Be Loving U Long Time was a BOP. That was one of the songs I was obsessing over when I started eighth grade wub.gif wub.gif

Second time after ‘Glitter’, the power of the Lambs is real *.*

Posted by: Slick 27th April 2020, 10:13 PM

I LOVED this album at the time. Embarrassingly I wasn't much of a fan until this era.

Yes, criminally denied a hit in the UK. It still is a bop.

Wtf! I thought when I seen that on Twitter it was some edited joke and not genuine!

Wonder what impact it’ll have on the charts next week.

Posted by: Hauspital* 27th April 2020, 10:44 PM

I’ll Be Loving U Long Time is such an underrated fave! wub.gif

This is so random though! laugh.gif

Is there a campaign by fans running?

Posted by: ___∆___ 28th April 2020, 03:04 PM

Top 30 on UK iTunes too - you love to see it.

The lambs are powerful !!

Random but amazing news! *.*

It's made me revisit the album today. I'm sure I haven't heard it from beginning to end since 2008 (although I listen to certain tracks from it every now and then). It's a great album and it holds up really well after 12 years! I'll definitely return to it more often.

Obviously Migrate is the major fan favourite and considered as a missed single opportunity (Mariah does too). It does seem strange that her label didn't at least target Urban radio with it, considering that it was so warmly received... apart from by Perez Hilton, weirdly, and supposedly his influence~ at the time is what contributed to Migrate not being released. Ugh!

After that listen through, it's reminded me that I'm That Chick was my favourite album track at the time, and I still love it now. My Last.fm stats begin in 2012 and before today I hadn't listened to it at all in the past 8 years. ohmy.gif I'll definitely be playing it a lot more from now on. I really like Thanx 4 Nothin' too. heart.gif

So strange that I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time wasn't a bigger hit. Bye Bye was lovely but it seemed to stall the album campaign after the great start with Touch My Body. Maybe they thought it would be a bit of a One Sweet Day moment, but it should have remained as an album track imo.

OMG I love her random bursts of success recently, can this become a more common thing please

Posted by: Mack. 🐠 28th April 2020, 11:02 PM

It was to do with the physical release being cancelled for I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time underperforming if I remember correctly in the UK. I know it got playlisted.

Posted by: 🐠 IT’z Cody 🐠 28th April 2020, 11:47 PM

Releasing Bye Bye as a single was if the label was trying to recreate the magic that We Belong Together had in the US but it failed miserably. The Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel era had the same thing with I Want To Know What love Is being randomly pushed as a single 👀👀

Posted by: Andrew. 29th April 2020, 12:48 AM

Memoirs is an absolutely fantastic album, such a shame it's so overlooked sad.gif

It was a download only release!

Now is a good time it make a dent on the charts as sales are low.Great few months for Mariah and all based on old material.

Posted by: ___∆___ 29th April 2020, 06:47 AM

It’s up to #19 on iTunes cheer.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 29th April 2020, 11:00 AM

'Bye Bye' really was terrible. sick2.gif

'Loving U Long Time' is one of her best.

Posted by: joyride 29th April 2020, 01:43 PM

Does this stand a chance of making the Album chart? Although, I guess realistically the streams wont be high enough no.gif

Posted by: joyride 29th April 2020, 01:47 PM

She sung a bit of Last Kiss, I know many aren't a fan but it's one of my faves!

Posted by: Jay ☆ 29th April 2020, 02:19 PM

Cute! (Even though it's my least favourite song on the album laugh.gif )

The downloads won't be strong enough in the UK to make the Top 200, but she has a very good chance of entering the Top 100 downloads chart.

Posted by: joyride 29th April 2020, 03:28 PM

The download chart would be good enough for me! Perhaps it may get in the R&B chart too cheer.gif

I wonder how much the album has sold to date? is 160k too optimistic?

Posted by: dannjohn 29th April 2020, 04:19 PM

'Lovin U Long Time' got quite a bit of play on R2.

Posted by: vibe 29th April 2020, 04:44 PM

Migrate and I’m That Chick are better than Loving U Long Time

Posted by: Rossco 29th April 2020, 06:39 PM

As much as Caution was a move in the right direction, E=MC2 was her last fully decent album imo. I would welcome a return to form along the lines of this album any day to get her some commercial success. I would have gone Touch My Body, Love You Long Time, I Stay In Love and Migrate as singles however Side Effects is my fav song on the album.

Posted by: Jay ☆ 1st May 2020, 04:56 PM

Oh oop, it didn't enter the UK Download Top 100 sad.gif I know that the #100 sold 81 downloads, so Mariah sold less than that.

Posted by: joyride 1st May 2020, 06:54 PM

31 in the R&B chart atleast cheer.gif
