The Sun is reporting that Coldplay have been recording new music throughout lockdown, set to appear on their upcoming 9th studio album "Music Of The Spheres" - out this year! This matches up with the rumours that have appeared in the past, so appears to be truthful.

for what I understood, the plan was to go more commercial on this one, thats why they reached out to Max Martin

I wonder what they'll do this time. I'm also kinda surprised they have something coming this soon too. Could be nice or something dreadful (well, the Everyday Life album had some meh moments).

Yep! That's what the original leak for Everyday Life said (that there would be a more commercial album in 2020), so it was probably delayed due to covid.

I want them to be more commercial as they create more genius tracks when doing that plus I’d like to see if they can get a top 10 single still in a 3rd decade!

"Music Of The Spheres" has now officially been trademarked by Coldplay!

They were trending on twitter this morning as the band have landed in Korea, leading to BTS fans speculating whether a collab was on the way... not something I'd expect, but I wouldn't have predicted them collaborating with The Chainsmokers before that happened!

I can see why there's speculation on that (as random as that sounds), BTS recently did a cover of Fix You which Coldplay described as beautiful! I think the signs are there that the two groups are fans of each other, could it actually happen though?

I really hope so! I have no idea what it would sound like but it would be a massive pop moment

(For what it's worth apparently BTS are releasing a new single on May 21st)

The are building the campaign at a good pace.
Should be easily another Number 1 album for Coldplay.

Good sign that Radio 1 will continue to be on board, strange for a band that’s been around 22 years on their playlist. Like an anticipated new release from The Jam in 1999!

They still strongly support the Foo Fighters and they've been going for over 25 years.
