Doctor Who was BBC 1's most watched programme yesterday with 4.69m.
I’ll take it! Just slightly down on last year’s NYD episode but at least it’s relatively on par with this year’s Christmas Day ratings. Should be over 6m consolidated.
Corrie: 5m
Emmerdale: 4.6m
Mrs Brown’s Boys: 3.7m
Eastenders: 3.3m
I think that's quite good for Doctor Who - I expected around 4m based on its recent downward trend and the fact everything seems to be rating on the low side this festive period.
It's a bit worrying that The Serpent couldn't beat Doctor Who despite the lack of competition in the 9pm slot, whilst Doctor Who faced a similar rating Emmerdale in its slot.
I think Dracula suffered in the same timeslot last year but then had a massive increase in the consolidated ratings. I doubt The Serpent will do the same as Dracula benefited from word of mouth but it might rise once its in its proper timeslot.
Not seen it yet but I’m looking forward to it!
Very happy with that for Doctor Who! A perfectly respectable figure for this day and age, especially following a very divisive series finale where some of the audience could easily have switched off.
Much better for The Masked Singer! I don't think we'll be seeing it launch during Christmas week again.

E2: 5.44m
E3: 5.45m
E4: 6.70m
E5: 4.66m
E6: 3.50m
Quite a dip for The Wheel with no Strictly lead in.
Boris making an early play for highest rating of the year - around 2m shy of the March 2020 combined figure across all channels.
Despite the high figures, I expect it won't be commissioned for a series
I’m watching on catch up tonight, I wonder what will happen!
Looks like EastEnders achieved 4.4m last night whilst the second episode of Coronation Street was watched by 5.2m at the same time. At the start of both programmes, 6.2m were watching BBC 1 and 5.3m were watching ITV, which shows EastEnders' audience plummeted across the half hour whilst Corrie remained steady.
The Chase achieves a new high with 5.05m viewers.
Some ratings for Sunday: A Perfect Planet on BBC 1 was watched by 5.8m and Beat the Chasers on ITV was watched by 4.3m.
I suppose The Chase is fun, easy watching whilst people are having their tea; 9pm might be a primetime spot but I can see why it's not resulted in more viewers. Similarly, a successful drama at 9pm probably wouldn't have anywhere near as many numbers if aired at 5pm.
4.48m for EastEnders last night, slightly up on Monday which I didn't expect. Traces was watched by 2.8m, down 900k on Monday, and Staged followed with 1.6m.
Over on ITV, 2.1m watched Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: A Very Major Scandal and Beat The Chasers continued with 3.7m.

Eastenders done great on the player for christmas day, were the consolidated ratings for christmas day released?
Yep, you can see them in the 2020 thread here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=229461&view=findpost&p=6763364
Pooch Perfect rated 2.7m last night, followed by the return of Death in Paradise with 6.2m! On ITV, Beat The Chasers rated 4.2m, up slightly on Wednesday's 4.1m.
Death in Paradise Series Openers:
Series 1 (2011): 5.75m (23.7%)
Series 2 (2013): 6.86m (28.9%)
Series 3 (2014): 7.13m (29.7%)
Series 4 (2015): 6.91m (29.7%)
Series 5 (2016): 6.82m (30.2%)
Series 6 (2017): 6.71m (29.0%)
Series 7 (2018): 6.36m (29.4%)

Series 9 (2020): 5.80m (31.6%)
Series 10 (2021): 6.20m (31.9%)
Pooch Perfect did better than I thought, it looked like another sub-2m flop from the trailers. Solid as ever for Death In Paradise! They did well to get that produced and ready for its usual January slot.
The Masked Singer was watched by 5.8m with a 7m peak! The Voice UK, The Wheel and Catchphrase were all up week-on-week too (see below). The football on BBC 1 was watched by 5m and peaked with 6m.

I was expecting higher / a bigger timeshift for episode 1 of The Serpent after Black Narcissus opened with 7.16m (5.71m and 5.42m for episodes 2 and 3).
The Pembrokeshire Murders was watched by 6.3m (33.1%) on ITV, the channel's biggest overnight drama rating since Vera in 2018 and the channel's biggest overnight for a new drama since The Durrells in 2016.
Series 3 of Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad launched with 4.8m.
On BBC 1, Traces dropped another 900k episode-on-episode to 1.9m (down 1.8m on last Monday).
Soap ratings:
Coronation Street 5.8m
Emmerdale 5.1m
EastEnders 3.6m
Not sure if that's the first or second episode of Corrie.
Decent enough figures for Marine v Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal v Newcastle (Well done to everyone who watched the whole of that match)
1.7m for Traces followed by 1m for Staged. The Pembrokeshire Murders continued with 5.8m.
The Pembrokeshire Murders concluded with 6.7m (36.1%), bringing the series average to 6.3m. Has anyone watched it? I tried watching the first episode but couldn't get into it.
Another rating for Tuesday: EastEnders rated 4.1m.
I'm surprised The Pembrokeshire Murders increased that much for its final episode. I tried a bit of episode 1 but also didn't think it was anything special? There have been better dramas recently that have rated worse, but true crime + ITV always seems to be a winner!
Reminds me a bit of The Salisbury Poisonings on the BBC last year - nothing particularly special / very little online hype but rated very well.
I suppose it benefited from little opposition - if it was up against Silent Witness, I guess they would cancel each other out and rate 4-5m. As you say though, true crime dramas do seem to capture the public's interest.
On BBC 1, 2.3m for Pooch Perfect (down 400k) and 5.6m for Death in Paradise (down 600k). On ITV, top episode of Emmerdale rated 4.7m (not sure which of the two episodes), followed by 2.8m for The Martin Lewis Money Show and 3.5m for The Pembrokeshire Murders: Catching the Gameshow Killer.
Top programmes in the consolidated ratings for the week of 4-10 Jan 2021 (including devices)
01. Prime Ministerial Statement - 14.08m / 14.33m (BBC) + 5.45m / 5.48m (ITV)
02. BBC News (Mon 20:10) - 11.05m / 11.13m
03. Death In Paradise - 8.32m / 8.42m
04. The Masked Singer - 7.27m / 7.32m
05. Coronation Street (Mon 19:30) - 6.78m / 6.88m
06. A Perfect Planet - 6.35m / 6.44m
07. Countryfile - 6.32m / 6.34m
08. Emmerdale (Mon) - 5.88m / 5.94m
09. The FA Cup (Sun 16:30) - 5.69m / 5.76m
10. EastEnders (Tue) - 5.25m / 5.40m
A couple of big ratings on Channel 4 - Gogglebox (5.14m / 5.21m), 24 Hours In Police Custody (4.45m / 4.57m). 24 Hours In Police Custody seems to have come from nowhere with a stonking rating?! The second episode was only slightly lower.
I can possibly only see an England match in Euro 2020 (do we officially call it Euro 2021?) and maybe Line of Duty or I'm A Celeb topping that by the end of the year.
A strong start for Death In Paradise, which is up around 300k year on year and very good for The Masked Singer (one of its highest ever ratings there).
Saturday night ratings: on ITV, 4.8m for Catchphrase, 6m for The Masked Singer and 4.2m for The Voice UK. On BBC 1, 4m for The Wheel.

For football fans:
Go on Lingo!
2 million for 3pm on a weekday must be much better than average for that slot - I presume that cracking a million would normally be good for that timeslot? I wonder if it's the show itself that's picking up an audience, or whether it's just because there's more people at home than usual.
A bit of both, Winning Combination in the last lockdown was definitely a bit lower IIRC.
Yes it was higher than Winning Combination and Tenable which has also aired in that slot. I think 1m would indeed be a good result for that time of day, a lot of shows don't even break that if I think back to times where I've previously seen daytime ratings.
^ Just to clarify, that does include the late night repeat (which was watched by over 1m) which won't be included in the official figure when its published on Monday, but apparently the reported figure hasn't had adverts stripped out (which the official figure will) so it might end up close to that figure anyway. Regardless, still a fantastic rating! The launch of Lewis was watched by 11.31m so it wasn't far from outdoing that too.
Trying to find the previous biggest drama launch for ITV; I think it might be The Royal which debuted with 11.96m in January 2003 (Rosemary & Thyme also rated 11m+ (11.11m) for its first episode in August 2003).
1.9m for Traces again last night. The series averaged 2.3m:
E1: 3.7m
E2: 2.8m
E3: 1.9m
E4: 1.7m
E5: 1.9m
E6: 1.9m
ITV seem to be striking gold with their 3-part true crime dramas spread out over three days. The Pembrokeshire Murders, Des, Quiz...
It wouldn't surprise me if they have another two or three ready to go before the end of the year, and I'm sure they'll be just as popular.
Conflicting figures for Joe Biden's Inauguration, one could be slot-based and the other time-checked:
5.7m for Death in Paradise, up 100k week-on-week. On ITV, 3.2m watched The Chasers Road Trip
Death in Paradise
E1: 6.2m
E2: 5.6m
E3: 5.7m
Intrigued to see how It's a Sin will perform tonight. I've seen it promoted a fair bit and there's a lot of buzz in certain circles, but I don't know how wide its audience will be. I'd be happy with 2m.
I think It’s a Sin might be seen as an underperformance on the overnights but a large part of the audience is probably more likely to watch on All4
I think It's A Sin will be quite low overall but 16-34 audience will be strong.
I expect it will be similar to Russell T Davies' last project Years and Years in that it was hyped, had a good buzz and was well received but won't have widespread appeal beyond the twittersphere and younger audiences.
Do we have 7 day figures for Drag Race UK's premiere yet?
1.9m (10.7%) for It's a Sin last night, 12.2% share of 16-34s which is Channel 4's best for a drama in 3 years.
I'm guessing Kiri might have been the last drama to have a better share of 16-34s (it rated 3.2m in the overnights, can't find the share of 16-34s though).
The Masked Singer is really going from strength to strength with a new series high!
In fact last year's final was 6.4m so depending on the exact figure, last night is potentially its highest rated episode so far in the UK!
More ratings for Friday: 4.1m for Would I Lie to You? followed by 3.2m for Not Going Out on BBC 1. Endeavour repeat rated 1.5m on ITV.
For Saturday: The Wheel rated 4.3m and The Voice UK rated 4.3m, as well as the ratings in the post above.

Not a great return for Marcella or Best Home Cook last night.
Celebrity Best Home Cook: 2.7m
Marcella (ep 1): 2.8m
Marcella (ep 2): 1.9m
A bizarre decision to start with a double bill into the 10pm slot as shown by the big drop off in rating between episode 1 and 2. Best Home Cook could potentially increase tonight with The Repair Shop leading into it.
The first rating for Marcella isn't too bad when you consider Series 2 opened with 3.7m which was a big drop from what Series 1 opened with and averaged. The share wasn't far off the opening share for Series 2 either:
Marcella Series Openers:
Series 1 (2016): 6.12m (27.6%)
Series 2 (2018): 3.74m (17.4%)
Series 3 (2021): 2.80m (15.4%) / 1.90m (14.2%)
Marcella Series Averages:
Series 1 (2016): 4.91m (22.8%)
Series 2 (2018): 3.40m (16.4%)
Having another episode straight after at 10pm was clearly a bit too much for viewers, although the share was quite similar.
Some Wednesday ratings - as expected Best Home Cook increased with The Repair Shop lead in, which itself continues to be quite a force out-rating Coronation Street!
The Repair Shop: 5.4m
Coronation Street: 5.3m (not clear which episode)
The Bay: 3.9m
Celebrity Best Home Cook: 3.0m
Grand Designs: 2.1m
I love the Repair Shop. It's perfect lockdown tv, it makes you smile and feel good. Plus it's actually quite interesting learning about how they restore everything.
What generally is a good rating for a TV programme? when I look at ratings for TV shows I'm not sure whether 3 million for example is good or not.
It would depend on the type of programme I think. Nowadays, in regards to BBC 1 and ITV, a drama rating 4 or 5m in the overnights would be good and 6 or 7m would be fantastic, especially when you consider they generally seem to add 2m on with catchup.
Most watched programmes of 11-17 January 2021:
01. The Pembrokeshire Murders (Mon) - 9.54m / 9.77m
02. Death in Paradise - 7.62m / 7.72m
03. Finding Alice - 7.58m / 7.71m
04. The Masked Singer - 7.29m / 7.34m

08. Antique's Roadshow - 6.04m / 6.06m
09. Emmerdale (Thu 19:00) - 5.73m / 5.79m
10. Bradley & Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad - 5.73m / 5.76m
The Pembrokeshire Murders:
E1: 9.54m / 9.77m
E2: 8.92m / 9.13m
E3: 9.49m / 9.69m
Average: 9.32m / 9.53m
All episodes adding 3m+ on their overnights, with the first episode adding 3.5m. The Pembrokeshire Murders: Catching The Gameshow Killer rated 5.67m / 5.72m which is 2.2m up on the overnight!
Top episode (Tuesday) of EastEnders barely scrapped 5m overall (4.86m / 5.01m), nearly 2m behind Corrie! It's a good job EastEnders does better on other devices than the other soaps.
Death in Paradise up again - now above 6m! 2.8m for The Chasers Road Trip on ITV.
Death in Paradise
E1: 6.2m
E2: 5.6m
E3: 5.7m
E4: 6.0m
Excellent for Death In Paradise! It's on Thursday & Friday next week and then just Friday the following week so will be interesting to see if that has an impact on its ratings. You'd expect it to be much lower on a Friday.
The Pembrokeshire Murders did very well (as expected) but the accompanying documentary has to be the stand out rating. Three nights of a true crime drama followed by a documentary about the 'real story' seems to be a winning combo for ITV over the past year or so.
It will be interesting to see how Line of Duty does in March, hoping for insane numbers!
Big launch for new Channel 5 drama The Drowning last night. Not far off the #1 spot for the 9pm hour!
The Drowning: 2.8m
Long Lost Family: 3.4m
Panorama: 1.5m
Celebrity Best Home Cook: 2.9m (16%)
The Drowning: 2.7m (14.7%)
Marcella: 1.9m (10.2%)
Amazing for The Drowning to hold nearly all of its audience for episode 2. It's already a massive hit for Channel 5 without even seeing how well it consolidates! Best Home Cook is actually up on last week and is trundling along at a very consistent level.
Excellent once again for The Masked Singer
How much extra has TMS been pulling in from the later consolidated ratings?

Really poor start for Gordon Ramsey's Bank Balance - 2.7m on Wednesday and 1.9m on Thursday.
We're still yet to see how it did last night up against Gogglebox.
Thursday night ratings were poor all round - Bank Balance actually won the 9pm slot with just 1.9m...eek. It's going to be a long 3 weeks for BBC One.
Yikes for ratings... roll on Line of Duty!
This week must have been the first time there's been three consecutive nights where the top 9pm programme didn't pass 2m.
Channel 5 even won the slot on Tuesday and Wednesday!

It will be interesting to see how Harry & Meghan's interview with Oprah rates on Monday night given the best bits will be hammered into the news all day. But also it's been so long since we've had so much promo for a TV event like this - it's literally been a headline on all main news outlets for at least the past week. You can't ask for better promo of a TV broadcast than that?
Anything less than 5m would not be great given how much ITV have allegedly paid for the rights to broadcast it.
Gogglebox was watched by 4.6m on Friday!
On Saturday, Saturday Night Takeaway was down half a million to 6.5m followed by The Voice UK with 4m.
On Sunday, Attenborough's Life in Colour was watched by 5m followed by Bloodlands with 5.4m. On ITV, McDonald & Dodds was watched by 3.6m.
11.3m for Harry/Meghan!
Wow! Even with the hype and build up, that's more than my upper end of expectations. And even more impressive considering the rating in the US was just over 17m (which obviously has a much bigger population).
The first (and probably only time) GMB has beaten Breakfast...

9.9m for Line of Duty (highest ever overnight rating - previously s6 launch with 9.56m)
With an even bigger cliffhanger this week, Line of Duty could cross 10m next week in the overnights!
yas line of duty *.*
Episode 1 of Line of Duty has consolidated to 15.20m in the 28-day ratings (14.59m for TV sets only).
This makes it the most watched TV broadcast of the year so far surpassing Oprah with Harry & Meghan (14.89m).
Line of Duty with another massive high - 10.9m viewers last night! Up 1m on last week's all-time high
The final episode may even overtake Harry & Meghan next week (11.3m is the overnight figure to beat)?
Highest rated TV drama since Doctor Who's Christmas Day episode (which drew 11.7m)!
12.8m (56.2%) for the final episode of Line of Duty!
Massive!! Outside of the PM's various lockdown announcements, I can't even remember when we last saw an overnight rating that high
EDIT:
Now confirmed by Lizo Mzimba as the highest overnight audience for a drama (excluding soaps) since 11 February 2001!
^ Incredible ratings! It achieved 15.57m after 7-days (including all devices) which makes it the biggest drama since 28 March 1999 when the Series 6 finale of A Touch of Frost achieved 15.83m.
Series average is 13.6m!
The BRITs averaged just 2.9m last night with a 3.6m peak. BBC drama Three Families continued with 2.1m, down 400k on Monday's premiere.
2.9m is truly horrific
They are incredible ratings and very rare these days.
Coronation Street only managing 3.5m yesterday!
Anyone find any ratings for the friends reunion in the UK or US?
The much-anticipated reunion episode of Friends was watched by around 1.7 million viewers in the UK on its first day of release.
The Sky One broadcast pulled in 691,000 (4.6%), according to early figures, while a further 982,000 watched the programme on demand at some point throughout the day.
The figures are expected to rise further over the Bank Holiday weekend as more viewers stream the programme on demand.
With thanks to DS, here's how GBeebies performed on Day 1. It beat Kay Burley's breakfast show on Sky but overall came in third place for the day, marginally behind Sky. The demographics skewing massively male and ABC1 can be quite valuable for them in terms of attracting advertising revenue (well, those who are willing to be on the platform lol). Sadly, it looks like GBeebies is safe for now!

All of the soaps are being pummelled in the ratings the past few weeks. Corrie has been barely above 4m and Emmerdale dipped below 3m - neither far off where EastEnders has been settling ratings wise the past few months. Whatever the circumstances, shocking to see EastEnders drop below 2m for the first time and it's happened for 4 episodes in a row!!
Jesus Christ at EastEnders ratings, didn’t realise they were getting that bad! I can remember when Doctors could achieve like 1.1m/1.2m at lunchtime.
East Enders have put all the episodes on iPlayer in advance, so would be interesting to see what their ratings are like once this is taken into account. Either way, not good.
England v Germany had a 27m peak wow
England's 4-0 win over Ukraine at Euro 2020 attracted a peak TV audience of 20.9 million, making it the most-watched live TV event of the year with 81.8% audience share.
England's 4-0 win over Ukraine at Euro 2020 attracted a peak TV audience of 20.9 million, making it the most-watched live TV event of the year with 81.8% audience share.
Not an all-time record but last night peaked with over 30m viewers! Massive!
Crikey!, I think that is the third most viewed programme ever in the UK.
The match average was 29.85m which brings it down to 5th behind EastEnders and The Royal Family documentary.
Still a crazy high figure!! The average also very close to the peak, which is great to see.
makes it more impressive considering the amount gathering and pubs that will have been showing it

f***ing hell this can't be real
https://inews.co.uk/culture/television/euro-2020-final-viewing-figures-england-vs-italy-most-watch-event-uk-history-1099039
I can't remember if live streams are already included in the overnights or not, so it could be that the article have double counted some ratings. I feel like they probably have been when you consider the amount of people watching in clubs/pubs/outside events that aren't represented in the figures - I know it does feel like the whole country was watching but there's only so much higher the true figure can go!
Edit: This is a comment from the BBC article, not sure if "those who saw it via catch-up services" refers to live streams or specifically catch-up:
I'm guessing the number quoted for streams is requests rather than average, which is always massively inflated compared with the final figure we see from Barb.
I think overnights include streaming via TV but not other devices as that takes longer to collate?
Yeah I was thinking that too re: requests rather than streams. Hopefully we do get an official average for the match itself, reported elsewhere in the media if not on the BARB most watched programmes of the week list.
Incredible ratings for the final.
A terrestrial audience of 1.6 million watched the opening game of The Hundred, making it the most watched women's cricket match ever televised on the BBC.
Oval Invincibles beat Manchester Originals at the Kia Oval on Wednesday.
In a game streamed live 180,000 times on iPlayer, Invincibles' captain Dane van Niekerk hit 56 not out, sealing victory with two balls remaining. The Originals had set the hosts a target of 136 to win.
Broadcast simultaneously on BBC Two and Sky Sports, the peak combined viewing figures of 1.95 million meant the game broke UK viewing records for women's cricket - surpassing the peak audience of 1.24 million who watched last week's England v India T20.
More than 3.8m people watched at least three minutes of the game across all channels and nearly 35% of the audience was female.
I can’t believe how much the BBC and Sky Sports are really hyping this Hundred rubbish. Hopefully it will flop on its arse
I quite enjoyed it myself. We'll see how this mens' match goes tonight.
But do we need it though? T20 is perfectly fine as it is and The Hundred just seems gimmicky in comparison.
I think they're going for the younger audience and people who don't have Sky Sports.
soaps have really suffered from the euros haven’t they! Hollyoaks ratings are tragic as are east enders
Amazing rating for Emma Raducanu's historic win at the US Open last night
Amazing for a last minute scheduling change! I think that match average is about double anything that Wimbledon achieved this year (Emma's R4 match also being the peak of Wimbledon iirc)
Fantastic ratings for the US Open final!!

While 800k is pretty good for a snooker semi-final in this day and age, it's hard not to think of it in the context of the figures it once got.
F1 final will be broadcast on C4 after a deal with Sky, seems like it could get a pretty hefty rating.
6.5m overnight for the IAC final. Absolutely dreadful by it's high standards.
13.1m for Boris's narcissism broadcast.
4.3m C4 peak for F1 final.
Disappointing ratings for I'm a celebrity, strictly really showing its power as the long standing reality show.
Wow that's a huge drop for IAC compared to last year / its usual standard although I'm not too surprised considering the general reception, I think people are ready for a jungle return now.
Also from yesterday - that new Simon Cowell show Walk The Line got 3 million viewers and Strictly Results Show 9.8 million - looking forward to seeing what the final of the latter will achieve this weekend, there's a lot of goodwill surrounding the quality of the finalists.
Starmer will address nation tonight.
Gonna be mighty embarassing if that beats Boris

If the BBC genuinely want to save Doctor Who it needs some creative scheduling, the next series could stay on a Sunday night with it being surrounded by hits. If we assume it's coming back in 2023 early in the year then maybe:
18.00 - News
18.25 - [Popular Game Show maybe House of Games/The Wheel]
19.10 - Doctor Who
20.00 - Call The Midwife
21.00 - Line of Duty
They could even show Classic Who as a lead in to the main show instead of the game show, trying to entice older viewers to stick around for the new version.
They’re not going to revolve their entire annual schedule around Doctor Who
It doesn’t really make a difference anyway as this series led into Strictly aka the BBC’s most reliable and popular entertainment show. Less people are watching a show on the specific timeslot, I remember discussion for other series that the actual ‘live’ viewers who watched it as it aired was at least 1m less than the overnights.
Not to mention that it doesn't need "saving" in the first place...! Comparing to almost 60 years of ratings is entirely pointless. The BBC are not going to cancel the show that's been their biggest (non-soap) drama for the past 6 weeks
There’s sooo many factors to think of in scheduling. Call the Midwife and the BBC One Line of Duty series have outrated all new series of Doctor Who so you would be overshadowing the series and drowning it out amongst hype for those shows. You want the show to be, if possible, the focus of the day. Strictly’s results show does lower than the Saturday show but it’s still over 8m and amongst the highest on TV now. Also, schedulers aren’t going to out all their high profile shows for the year on one night - they’re going to space them out and use them as a springboard for new shows.
This is literally the worst time to talk about cancellation as we know the show is lasting until at least 2024. How many other dramas get to say that? If it was in so much danger then this is a perfect end point for the show with the departure of the main cast and the producers. Instead, they’ve asked for an additional episode and creating a whole new springboard for the show from 2023. RTD is so passionate about the show that he wouldn’t want to be the person who revived it and then killed it again
No it won’t because it’s all comparative! Jodie had higher to fall from than Capaldi, ratings across the board are largely in a different place and it’s performing similarly on the weekly charts in terms of position. I’m not blinded that it’s not at it’s peak and that it could be doing better but it’s a drama that’s soon celebrating 60 years and has been on for 16 years in it’s current iteration, outlasting hundreds of shows during that time. It’s extremely rare for a drama to maintain high ratings. I think dramas like Silent Witness, Call the Midwife and Death in Paradise are the only ones really coming to mind but none of them have ever played a real part in pop culture.
The ones in charge of actually making the decision have ordered an additional episode to be one of the centrepieces of their 100th birthday celebrations as well as preparing plans for the show for at least up to three more years. That’s a huge showing of confidence in the show. It just makes little sense to be so concerned at this stage in light of the BBC’s continued confidence in it. They’re literally making the decision, not anyone else
Ratings are pretty low all round this Christmas, however that might have something to do with a 4 day bank holiday. Walked past a few pubs over the past few days and they were busier than any time I've seen them in the whole pandemic. I guess people prioritising things that might soon be taken away from them over Christmas.
8.96m for the Queens Speech winning the day. 5.78m for Strictly second.
ITV's highest entry being 3.25m for Corrie (overnights) in 8th.
ITV deffo need a rethink next year....
Perhaps something like:
5.30pm News
6.00pm Emmerdale
7.00pm - Coronation Street
8.00pm - Ant and Decs Christmas Takeaway
9.30pm - Who Wants to Be A Millionaire At Christmas
10.30pm - News
