Yet to see Roman Israel but might try and catch it tomorrow. This would be my ranking for the rest:
1. Chalamet (should be walking away with this, everything was so perfectly portrayed and the final scene of the film alone should be getting him the Oscar) 2. Oldman (feels a bit more like an impression but at least it was very transformative and believable) 3. Day-Lewis (very good but not ready to win another Oscar already and I've just ranked Oldman ahead for the physical transformation of his performance) 4. Kaluuya (loved the film lots but don't see what was so special about this performance - he surely wouldn't have made it if it was a more competitive year) I'd take Kaluuya out of my personal top five and complete it with Tom Hanks for The Post and James Franco for The Disaster Artist. |

I'm rooting for Chalamet, that's such a beautiful work of his. Will be glad if Gary Oldman wins too, just like him ever since Harry Potter Judging by previous awards he stands a good chance to get the Oscar this year. Surprized there is no Michael Shannon on the list, though I'm not a fan so not disappointed
