Shane Filan told me: “It’s a huge statement but I think My Blood has the same power as Flying Without Wings did in 1999; it’s just one of those songs that will connect.” Nicky Byrne agreed: “It is safe to say it is Ed Sheeran and (songwriting partner) Steve Mac at their best!” |

Not sure it is wise that they release another ballad or that all the songs are co-written by Ed. But we will see. |

It wont be big regardless, a top 75 would be good for them but it will keep helping build the album hype.

Xfactor performance would suit a ballad though

And their most streamed ballad singles in the UK are You Raise Me Up and Flying without wings.

And their most streamed ballad singles in the UK are You Raise Me Up and Flying without wings. Absolutely the highlights of the night in Hyde so far. right up their alley. Idk but there were some tech difficulties on the other songs they performed but the last three songs were flawless. Surprised almost no one in the audience knew What About Now already. I guess most of the people there are older, they knew Swear it Again more. While the younger ones latest and bigger memory of Westlife before their new singles was What About Now from the comments I have read before. Shane describes it a "really important song to us" and "emotional" as it's about the relationship between them and their families

If we're talking 'Flying Without Wings' vibes this could potentially be quite a big hit - at least of 'Hello My Love' standards if not better. Need to catch up with their Radio 2 in Hyde Park set.

Has Hyde Park done anything for them in terms of chart activity? Majority of acts get big boosts from performing and I can see the PSB have really benefitted from huge spikes in back catalogue but not for Westlife?! Interesting that a live TV performance plus a massive outdoor show is having zero impact

Shane could be overdramatic though. Anyway we'll see.

This is a big release for them if it flops or has no impact the album will sell moderately due to the time of year it's released. If it's a hit the album could be huge!
