The first excerpt of her interview is below, although likely won't be published in full until the magazine goes on sale on 7 December.

Dua Lipa Talks Feminism And Body Image In The January Issue Of British Vogue

When Dua Lipa signed her record deal at the age of 18, she was waitressing. Now, the indefatigable 23-year-old sells out arenas. Her success – she’s the UK’s biggest female musical export since Adele – comes at an important junction for women in the arts, with her overt sexiness reading as a positive choice.

“Feminism to me is not man-hating, it’s just being like ‘we deserve the same opportunities’,” she tells Zing Tsjeng in the January issue of Vogue. “You hear so much about all these strong important men who have changed the world, even in history and the story of mankind, somehow the f***ing story starts with: ‘Well, the man did this.’”

Currently at the end of a behemoth tour and focusing on 2019, there can be no doubt the British-Kosovan singer is writing a different fate for herself. Her second album is the most anticipated of the year, both by an industry keen to crown her its next global superstar and, more importantly, by millions of fans keen to witness the next chapter in her evolution – and theirs.

Although she has not always had the confidence of a chart-topping, record-breaking popstar, she adds: “I do feel quite confident in my body, there’s always going to be something you don’t like, but it’s so much healthier to tell yourself two things you like about yourself every day. I go, ‘You know what, my skin’s looking great, I’m not going to put any make-up on,’ rather than, ‘Oh God, you’ve had pasta every night this week.’” As if you needed any more reasons to love Lipa.
