Whatever hype you had for the album before its release, has it lived up to those expectations and hype?

I was expecting to be slightly underwhelmed, especially with 'Rain On Me' but in general. And WOW she proved me wrong.

Honestly, my expectations were unrealistically high and she's exceeded them.

My expectations were MIDDLING, because Gaga so often disappoints and makes such odd choices with her music. This album doesn't disappoint, so she has MET my expectations. It remains to be seen if this album has longevity for me (beyond the next couple of weeks.)

YES A MILLION TIMES OVER.
I'm not the most coherent at the minute because I'm still on a huge high after listening so that really does say it all. |

100% yes. I thought we could've had something that rivalled Joanne and ARTPOP, but never did I think we'd have something potentially rivalling The Fame era(s)!!

I didn't have any expectations to be honest, other than it followed a more dance-inspired sound and structure opposed to the big pop sound with anthemic choruses.
I was certainly hoping it would be a thrilling experience with a few twists and turns but I don't know if that's an expectation specific to this album or what I look for in all albums. For the sake of the question though, I'm saying yes. It was being hyped up to be one of the best albums of the year, which it is, and could potentially rival her earlier work. |
