A year since 'breathin' became another top 10 hit for Ariana *.*

I have the day off work so it's a rare opportunity where I can hear the chart live, yay! I know that I enjoy the new Taylor and Jorja songs, so I look forward to hearing those, but I have not heard new Sam Feldt yet and am scared tbh based on his murder of 'Show Me Love' and the title :')

These Words <3 Still adore that, and its parent album. A good opening sale for it too considering the climate in 2004.

Westlife did quite well to only drop its sales by less than a third in the second week with If I Let You Go, considering it had the hallmarks of a fanbase No.1. This was the point Better Off Alone started to properly decline too but really healthy and consistent numbers for a song that never got to No.1.

Swae Lee featuring Drake
Won't Be Late

Non-album single
Released: 16th August 2019
Label: Eardruma Records/Interscope Records

Video

Biography

American rapper and singer/songwriter Swae Lee first found success as part of the Southern sibling hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd. He was born Khalif Malikibnsham Brown in Inglewood, California, but his family relocated to Tupelo, Mississippi when he and his brother Slim Jxmmi (born Aaquil Ibinshaman Brown) were very young. The brothers were raised in the Ida Street housing projects, which were notorious for their high crime levels. Around this time the brothers' parents split up, which eventually led to them seeking shelter in abandoned homes in the area. Music proved to be a useful escape for the boys, and they found a role model in rapper David Banner, who also hailed from Mississippi. They began their path in music by forming Dem Outta St8 Boyz with Jemiah Middlebrooks. Eventually, the brothers headed out on their own, and had local success with the single "Party Animal." In 2013 the duo signed to the EarDrummers Entertainment label as Rae Sremmurd, which was the label name spelled backwards. They went on to release two studio records, SremmLife (2015) and SremmLife 2 (2016).

As a solo artist, Lee made his debut on Mike WiLL Made-It's "Drinks on Us," followed by appearances on Wiz Khalifa's "Burn Slow" and French Montana's "Unforgettable." The latter track peaked in the Top Three of the Billboard 200, also topping the U.S. R&B/hip-hop and rap charts. In early 2018, Lee appeared on the soundtrack for Black Panther alongside R&B singer Khalid, followed a couple months later by "Hurt to Look," the first single from his debut solo effort, which arrived as one of three albums bundled into Rae Sremmurd's third, SR3MM. In addition to one disc of Rae Sremmurd material, it was also home to the solo debuts from each of the brothers: Lee's Swaecation and Jxmmi's Jxmtro. The set debuted at number six on the Billboard 200.

Missed the top 40 this week?

Liam Gallagher
One Of Us

3rd single from Why Me? Why Not.
Released: 16th August 2019
Label: Warner Music UK

Video

Biography

William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis, and later served as the singer of Beady Eye, before performing as a solo artist after the dissolution of both bands. His eccentric dress sense, distinctive singing style, and abrasive attitude have been the subject of commentary in the press; he remains one of the most recognisable figures in modern British music.

Although his older brother Noel wrote the majority of Oasis' songs, Liam penned the singles "Songbird" and "I'm Outta Time", along with a string of album tracks and B-sides. Noel departed Oasis in 2009 and formed Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam continued with the former members of Oasis, sans Noel, forming Beady Eye, releasing two albums, until they disbanded in 2014. His debut solo album As You Were was released 6 October 2017, which proved to be a critical and commercial success, topping the UK Albums Chart and being certified Platinum.

As You Were sold over 103,000 units in its first week in the United Kingdom. It is the ninth-fastest selling debut of the decade within the nation. In 2018, the album was certified Platinum with sales of over 300,000 units in the UK. In the United States, it opened at number 30 on the Billboard 200 with 15,000 album-equivalent units, including 14,000 traditional sales.
