six seconds and it sounds utterly FABULOUS. get the sense we are getting one of the more commercial moments here.
sorry if i am alone in thinking this but WTF, marina is releasing BY FAR the best material of her career, everything so far is sublime and not even as some doe-eyed type of mega fan. i came into this era with few expectations and indifference. each and every release has been a marina i am familar with...but pushed to the greatest and to get colloquial, FABULOUS extremes. i have no doubt now in my belief for what 'froot' entails. a pop and homosexualé classiq *.*

As much as I want to hear it, I really don't want it to leak this early! :'( #poormarina
Also, definitely going to be getting the vinyls when they're up for sale again on the 2nd!
p.s. this is incredible of course. This album is really shaping up to be a masterpiece.

I love this but strangely I am not expecting a lot from FROOT. I don't think it will nearly be up to the standard of The Family Jewels or Electra Heart

Ohhh I quite like this.
Was quite disappointed with the last two.
Looks like this is being pushed as the first single, premiering properly on R1 next Tuesday.
Marina has no chance of a top 10 now with streaming

Love it, but I really cannot tell how it'll do chartwise if this is the next (first proper? 
) single. But as a song it's absolutely wonderful. Possibly my fave so far!

It doesn't matter where the single will peak I guess. The album is more important, and while I'd imagine strong first week sales due to her fanbase, beyond that she needs Radio 1 to make people aware she's still around and making music, so I'm relieved she's pushing a single.

Video premieres Monday apparently!
Also, this hasn't been added to Spotify, whereas the other 3 have. So I guess they will indeed be pushing this as the lead single for the album! Very happy with that

I have a feeling that the song will be up on spotify on the 2nd as all the other ones had been released on their respective release dates on itunes!

Yeah, I think it'll be on Spotify come Monday. I still think it's being pushed as a single
more than the others though. And I'm happy with that. I'm really loving it.

As the brazilians say: REINA!
- She's touring "the world" in October.
- The upbeat songs on FROOT are: Forget, Blue, Better Than That (and Froot obv).
- She's written the ENTIRE album alone.
- Froot is spelled that way because she wanted it to seem playful, rather than serious.
- Her favourite songs are Better Than That & Savages.

Oh Marina.
I'm really looking forward to hearing Forget, Blue and Better Than That then. I generally prefer her more upbeat songs. I'm really excited about this era, now. She said she's just starting promo now, so I'm really hoping for big things from Atlantic.
I wonder how high into the chart she can get with 'I'm A Ruin' on Monday. The album pre-order is back in the top 200 now.
Also, there's been a collab recorded. Not for Froot but for another artist. Hopefully someone good and respectable that can help boost momentum for her as an artist.

'happy' is definitely routed in sadness and depression. it's probably my favourite so far and well onto being one of my favourite marina songs of all time. really SPEAKS to me it does.

Happy is definitely my fave too It's one I can really feel, it's so simply yet so hard hitting and stunning.
I think this might be second though! They're all so amazing though that it's impossible to rank them almost.

I need to stop thinking I am not a fan and give into my love for Marina. Always forget how much I enjoy her until I actually listen, as strange as that sounds.

I do like it, especially the ending. The first half is just too one-note. It's pushed the album pre-order back into the top 100 on iTunes anyway. 
Out of interested does anyone know sales figures for Marina's singles and albums?
I know Primadonna would be around roughly 240k. and The Family Jewels was 177k last I heard, with Electra Heart selling 60k+. But that's as much as I know. I'm surprised 'Hollywood' isn't Silver?

I have really struggled to properly get into anything post-'Froot' and i'm not sure why I think they might work better in the context of a whole album for me, but as standalone tracks there is little bringing me back for repeated listens. I can see a very cohesive album could be coming but I guess i suppose happier, more upbeat Marina in terms of single releases.
The video for this isn't the best either except for the final minute. The first part is like a stage-school reenactment of Madonna's 'Frozen'.

This is connecting with me so much recently! I thought I loved Happy but this is something else, incredible.

tbh this era feels much more sophisticated and mature than The Family Jewels (pretending Electra Heart didn't exist in this post~). And while I am loving everything she's been releasing so far, something has been missing. Something that made TFJ one of my favourite albums ever. I just hope the whole record will make more sense than Froots of the month separately.

That's what I'm hoping too. I think TFJ had a really strong character, so did Electra Heart - though a weaker one. I'm hoping it'll make sense in full, too. And she hasn't revealed any of her upbeat tracks yet (apart from Froot). I'm only liking 50% of what I've heard so far, but 'Froot' and especially 'I'm a Ruin' certainly make up for the other two for me.
I'm a ruin is a real grower, though I prefer the shorter version.

I still prefer the younger, brattier Marina. I'm a Ruin just sounds generic to me. Must need my ears syringed judging by the reactions round here.
Liked Froot and Immortal but not to the same extent I adored Fear and Loathing and just about all The Family Jewels.

Electra Heart is better than TFJ (although TFJ is still a pretty damn brilliant album, it's on my top 40 of all time), but I'm glad she's reverting the sound back a bit. However it sounds like the album as a whole will be different again, which is what I love about Marina. Given how much I adore the first two albums, I'm not going to let myself think that Froot will be as good but it will be perfect if everything keeps to more or less to this standard! I know it won't, because they've obviosuly picked the best to release before the album I imagine but my excitement could not be higher regardless!

I had to laugh at I'm a Ruin being described as basic and generic.
Video is a total rip of of Madonna's Frozen. Someone really should have said no at some point.
