I think if it was going to take off, it's inclusion on Hot Hits Uk and constant airplay on Kiss Fm would have seen it happen, so it's clearly not quite big enough to be a massive hit. So I'd rather they wait now until the big come back in Summer.

...I guess it's probably better for them to keep out of the public eye for a few months, so the public don't get bored and more importantly, sanity reasons.

I reckon people will really start properly craving new Little Mix within 2 months. (The longest gap we had in the past 3 years was between Hair and SOTME). May/June/July will be the perfect time to drop a new single - the GP thirst will be real.

Agreed. They need to give the public enough time to miss them, but not too long that they forget them/don't bother with them. Something just before the Summer Hits Tour would be awesome!

Yeh that was also my point, hopefully the label learnt from it too.

Well at least it's guaranteed, the thought that they could ever have a 3x Platinum album didn't seem realistic at one point. cheer.gif

'Only You' is actually becoming a really smart move. I feel like it's big enough to be called a hit but not too big that it's gonna over shadow their big, actual comeback.

People are getting more and more thirsty for new Little Mix!

“Glory Days” spends its 86th week in the Top 200 Belgian Albums chart at #82.

It just surpassed “Spice” by the Spice Girls (85 weeks) and is now the 3rd longest charting girl group album of all time in Belgium!

Outstanding.

That's with a single which is only being bolstered by radio and video play (and it isn't even on the album!). For an act of their nature, that's amazing.

People want more Little Mix and it makes me so happy to see! wub.gif

Glory Days has sold 106,896 in 2018, and 70,000+ of that is from streaming units alone. It probably goes without saying that the continued presence of Glory Days in the albums chart is mostly thanks to streaming and that's been the case for quite a while now. It's typically achieving around 75% to 80% of its sales from streams, over the past few months.

Here's a smattering of information to demonstrate the strength of their streaming compared to pure sales:

s = streaming, p = physical, d = downloads

27/04/2018 - #30 - 2,657 sales [2,074 s | 484 p | 98 d]
25/05/2018 - #36 - 2,292 sales [1,834 s | 350 p | 108 d]
22/06/2018 - #52 - 2,052 sales [1,629 s | 339 p | 84 d]
27/07/2018 - #25 - 2,418 sales [1,857 s | 368 p | 193 d]

9,419 sales accumulated over these 4 particular weeks: 7,394 comes from streaming.

It's not far off a million combined sales now (983,838). It would be interesting to know the split between the three forms of sales consumption. I wouldn't be too surprised if it's at least 300,000+ from streaming.

This is no criticism of Little Mix, but to the Official Charts - I can't help but think it's a bit ridiculous to consider the amount of streaming they've managed is equivalent to hundreds of thousands of actual sales. A vast amount of those streams won't necessarily have been the listener intending to consume their music as an album, just a few particular tracks off it, yet the accumulation of many people doing this is being counted as album sales. Ed Sheeran's Divide sales from streaming alone must be absurdly high.

I just feel like Glory Days' presence this high up the chart has long since verged into the "by default" stage, because they're consistently achieving around 1,700 to 2,000 streaming units a week. It only takes 1,800+ to crack the Top 40. It's more than likely it'll be around for months to come.

When you consider on the 27th July that Glory Days sold 561 pure sales and placed at #25 with 1,857 of streaming added in, while Kylie's Golden sold 992 pure sales and wound up being #74 due to only 223 streaming units, it certainly makes me ponder whether album streaming is way too dominant nowadays.

It's just that streaming is such a huge force right now. I think they need to balance it better in regards to the albums chart though. But eh, that's for a topic in the chart forum laugh.gif it's frustrating though.
