No real surprises for me so far. There would have been something wrong if the Transformers and Twilight movies hadn't gone out first.
Bit surprised at Despicable Me 2 finishing so low though. I thought it was a great sequel. Not a patch on the first one, but certainly a million miles better than some of the movies still to come. |

#80: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gross: $708,982,323 Rank on all-time list: #71 Rotten Tomatoes score: 53% Rates: 5, 4, 7, 5, 10, 7, 3 = 41 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 41/7*10 = 58.57 Coming less than two years after the first film in the reboot, The Amazing Sider-Man 2 became the lowest-grossing film of the series, and the first to be certified "Rotten". #79: Kung Fu Panda 2 Gross: $665,692,281 Rank on all-time list: #80 Rotten Tomatoes score: 81% Rates: 7.5, 9, 5, 7, 1 = 29.5 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 29.5/5*10 = 59 The first of three animated films in this section, Kung Fu Panda finishes just below the first film. #78: Kung Fu Panda Gross: $631,744,560 Rank on all-time list: #86 Rotten Tomatoes score: 87% Rates: 7.5, 2, 7, 5, 7, 7 = 35.5 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 35.5/6*10 = 59.16 The first Kung Fu Panda ends up one place higher than its sequel. Personally, I marginally prefer the sequel. #77: Ratatouille Gross: $623,722,818 Rank on all-time list: #92 Rotten Tomatoes score: 96% Rates: 10, 0, 7, 8, 7, 5, 7, 4 = 48 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 48/8*10 = 60 The third animated film in this section, and definitely the best out of the 5 here. Ratatouille is in my opinion a great film, slightly disappointed to see it so low, but it does have the same score as #76 and #75, since ties are broken by gross (Star Wars Episode II grossed more than Ratatouille and whatever #75 is grossed more than Star Wars Episode II). #76: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of The Clones Gross: $649,398,328 Rank on all-time list: #84 Rotten Tomatoes score: 67% Rates: 8, 5, 4, 7, 6, 6, 10, 8, 0 = 54 People who rated it: 9 Final score: 54/9*10 = 60 After The Phantom Menace became the highest-grossing Star Wars film (it still is, but probably not for much longer) but disappointed some fans, Attack Of The Clones made a considerable dip in gross compared to its predecessor. Still, it is considered a better film. |

#75: Ice Age: The Meltdown Gross: $660,940,780 Rank on all-time list: #81 Rotten Tomatoes score: 57% Rates: 10, 6, 6, 6, 4, 8, 2 = 42 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 42/7*10 = 60 The first of three films in the Ice Age franchise. #74: Tangled Gross: $591,794,936 Rank on all-time list: #100 Rotten Tomatoes score: 90% Rates: 10, 10, 8, 7, -5, 6, 7 = 43 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 43/7*10 = 61.42 Next is the first of of three Disney animated films, with Frozen and Big Hero 6 coming up later. #73: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Gross: $786,636,033 Rank on all-time list: #50 Rotten Tomatoes score: 78% Rates: 7, 8, 4, 9, 6, 8, 2 = 44 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 44/7*10 = 62.85 Coming 19 years after The Last Crusade, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was hotly anticipated. While the three previous films are better, it's still quite good. #72: Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End Gross: $963,420,425 Rank on all-time list: #24 Rotten Tomatoes score: 45% Rates: 5.5, 7, 8, 5, 7, 7, 7, 4 = 50.5 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 50.5/8*10 = 63.12 The third film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, with a budget of $300 million it is the most expensive film ever made, even after adjusting for inflation. #71: Shrek the Third Gross: $798,958,162 Rank on all-time list: #46 Rotten Tomatoes score: 40% Rates: 10, 9, 5, 6, 6, 6, 4, 7, 4 = 57 People who rated it: 9 Final score: 57/9*10 = 63.33 The third Shrek film, it is a bit of a drop compared to the two first films, but still a good film regardless. |

No great losses so far, except for Indiana Jones. I really enjoyed that one and Queen Blanchett was fabulous as usual.

#70: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Gross: $1,045,713,802 Rank on all-time list: #15 Rotten Tomatoes score: 33% Rates: 6.5, 6, 6, 6, 9, 7, 7, 4 = 51.5 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 51.5/8*10 = 64.37 Starting off this section is the fourth film in the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise. Despite being the lowest grossing film in the franchise in North America, the growth of some markets (China in particular) enabled it to become the second film in the series to gross $1 billion and make Johnny Depp the only star to have starred in three billion dollar-grossing films (this one, the film just next and another film coming shortly). #69: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Gross: $1,066,179,725 Rank on all-time list: #13 Rotten Tomatoes score: 54% The second Pirates Of The Caribbean film, thanks to the popularity of the first film (which grossed over $600 million, and will be appearing later) became only the third film to gross over a billion dollars (today there are 20, although one was released after this started and won't be appearing), after Titanic and The Lord Of The Rings: The Return of the King, both which will obviously be appearing later. #68: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa Gross: $603,900,354 Rank on all-time list: #98 Rotten Tomatoes score: 63% Rates: 10, 9, 8, 6, 5, 8, 1 = 47 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 47/7*10 = 67.14 My personal favourite in this section, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is however my least favourite out of the three films in the series. However, I absolutely love the plane crash. #67: The Lost World: Jurassic Park Gross: $618,638,999 Rank on all-time list: #94 Rotten Tomatoes score: 52% Rates: 6, 8, 6, 6, 7, 8, 6 = 47 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 47/7*10 = 67.14 The first sequel to 1994 dinosaur thriller Jurassic Park, The Lost World grossed considerably less than its predecessor and held in much lower esteem. #66: The Amazing Spider-Man Gross: $757,930,663 Rank on all-time list: #57 Rotten Tomatoes score: 74% Rates: 6, 8, 4, 6, 9, 7, 7 = 47 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 47/7*10 = 67.14 Being a reboot coming only five years after the quite reviled Spider-Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man became the lowest-grossing Spider-Man film (though its sequel would take that honor 2 years later) but is considered much better than Spider-Man 3. |

Tangled deserves to be much higher than that, really great little film and has a lot of the same qualities that made Frozen great.

#65: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Gross: $974,755,371 Rank on all-time list: #22 Rotten Tomatoes score: 80% Rates: 6.5, -5, 7, 9, 5, 9, 6, 10, 10, 10 = 67.5 People who rated it: 10 Final score: 67.5/10*10 = 67.5 The first of the eight Harry Potter films, it impressively managed to remain the highest-grossing film of the series until Deathly Hallows - Part 1. However, here it is the least popular film of the franchise, with all seven others still to come. #64: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith Gross: $848,754,768 Rank on all-time list: #40 Rotten Tomatoes score: 80% Rates: 10, 10, 4, 8, 3, 6, 15, 10, -5 = 61 People who rated it: 9 Final score: 61/9*10 = 67.77 By far the best film of the reboot trilogy, Revenge of the Sith finishes with a score almost double The Phantom Menace's. The original film is still to come. #63: Shrek 2 Gross: $919,838,758 Rank on all-time list: #32 Rotten Tomatoes score: 89% Rates: 15, -5, 9, 8, 7, 6, 10, 4, 8, 6 = 68 People who rated it: 10 Final score: 68/10*10 = 68 The first of my 15s to drop out, Shrek 2 was rated by all 10 participants but my 15 was countered/ruined by a -5 from Ultraviolence1989. #62: How To Train Your Dragon 2 Gross: $618,909,924 Rank on all-time list: #93 Rotten Tomatoes score: 92% Rates: 6, 10, 7, 7, 7, 4 = 41 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 41/6*10 = 68.33 Another DreamWorks sequel, How To Train Your Dragon 2 underperformed, didn't live up to its expectations. #61: Ice Age: Continental Drift Gross: $877,244,782 Rank on all-time list: #37 Rotten Tomatoes score: 37% Rates: 10, 10, 6, 6, 7, 2 = 41 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 41/6*10 = 68.33 The fourth instalment in the Ice Age franchise, Continental Drift was the highest-grossing animated film outside of North America for a year until it was surpassed by Frozen. |

#60: Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs Gross: $886,686,817 Rank on all-time list: #35 Rotten Tomatoes score: 45% Rates: 10, 10, 6, 6, 7, 3 = 42 People who rated it: 6 Final score: 42/6*10 = 70 The third instalment of the Ice Age series, Dawn Of The Dinosaurs became the highest-grossing film of the franchise and the highest-grossing animated film outside of North America before it was surpassed by its sequel and a Disney film coming up very shortly... #59: Alice In Wonderland Gross: $1,025,467,110 Rank on all-time list: #18 Rotten Tomatoes score: 51% Rates: 6, 10, 5, 6, 9, 7, 6 = 49 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 49/7*10 = 70 In 2010 a live-action remake of Disney's 1951 animated film Alice In Wonderland, adapted from the classic Lewis Carroll novel of the same name was released and surprised most box office experts by grossing over a billion dollars. Its success spawned three more movies, Oz The Great And Powerful, Maleficent (which will be appearing later), and Cinderella, having varying degrees of success. #58: Frozen Gross: $1,274,219,009 Rank on all-time list: #6 Rotten Tomatoes score: 89% Rates: 10, 15, 9, 7, 5, 6, -5, 7, 9 = 63 People who rated it: 9 Final score: 63/9*10 = 70 Adapted from Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen, Frozen shocked all box office experts, who had it pegged having similar success to Wreck It-Ralph ($471,222,889) by grossing 2.70 times more than that film and becoming the fifth-highest grossing film ever (though it was recently surpassed by Fast & Furious 7, which wasn't out when this poll was started so won't be appearing. Neither will Avengers: Age of Ultron, which has just entered.) Anyway, it's safe to say Frozen rocked the box office last year. #57: Casino Royale Gross: $599,045,960 Rank on all-time list: #100 Rotten Tomatoes score: 95% Rates: 9.5, 5, 8, 8, 5, 9, 6, 6 = 56.5 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 56.5/8*10 = 70.62 From two Disney films that will probably still be in the top 100 in 40 years if the average number of billion dollar-grossing films a year remains the same to a James Bond film which is spending its last month in the top 100 (with Jurassic World certain to outgross it). Anyway, Casino Royale is the 21st Bond film (despite adapting the first novel) and is Daniel Craig's first appearance as 007. #56: Life Of Pi Gross: $609,016,565 Rank on all-time list: #98 Rotten Tomatoes score: 87% Rates: 8.5, -5, 15, 7, 9, 15, 0 = 49.5 People who rated it: 7 Final score: 49.5/7*10 = 70.71 Another film which is likely be out by the end of the end (with the aforementioned Jurassic World, Minions, Fantastic Four, Mission Impossible 5, Spectre, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens very likely to outgross it). |

#55: Monsters University Gross: $743,559,607 Rank on all-time list: #63 Rotten Tomatoes score: 78% Rates: 10, 10, 7, 7, 7, 5, 6, 5 = 57 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 57/8*10 = 71.25 Pixar's most recent film, Monsters University is the second of six Pixar films in this countdown. It beats Ratatouille, which beat it on the Least Favourite Pixar Movie rounds, hosted by Ultraviolence1989. #54: Spider-Man 2 Gross: $783,766,341 Rank on all-time list: #51 Rotten Tomatoes score: 94% Rates: 7.5, 6, 9, 6, 6, 10, 8, 5 = 57.5 People who rated it: 8 Final score: 57.5/8*10 = 71.87 Finishing 31 places higher than Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man 2 nevertheless misses the upper half of this countdown. #53: Fast Five Gross: $626,137,675 Rank on all-time list: #89 Rotten Tomatoes score: 78% Rates: 7, 4, 15, 6, 4 = 36 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 36/5*10 = 72 Thirteen films only received 5 rates, and Fast Five was one of them. However, having received a 15 amidst otherwise middling ranks, the low number of raters for the film meant that the 15 was much more influential, raising its final score by almost 20 points. #52: Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Gross: $694,713,380 Rank on all-time list: #74 Rotten Tomatoes score: 93% Rates: 8, 4, 9, 6, 9 = 36 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 36/5*10 = 72 Coming 5 years after the third Mission Impossible film, and 15 years after the first, Ghost Protocol became the best-reviewed and the highest-grossing film of the series. Sequel Rogue Nation is due for the 31st of July. #51: Fast & Furious 6 Gross: $788,679,850 Rank on all-time list: #49 Rotten Tomatoes score: 68% Rates: 7.5, 5, 15, 6, 3 = 36.5 People who rated it: 5 Final score: 36.5/5*10 = 73 The sixth film in the series, Fast & Furious 6 took the series success even higher, becoming one of the 50 highest-grossing films ever. Of course, two years later Fast & Furious 7 came and took everything to a whole other level. |

Fast Five is a genuinely brilliant movie. If anyone is an action/heist fan I suggest they check it out. Out of all the films in the franchise, this is definitely the highlight in terms of structural films. Check it out!
