A look at the race to the World Grand Prix at Cheltenham Racecourse:
http://www.worldsnooker.com/the-race-to-cheltenham-updated/
China's Ding Junhui is through to the quarter-finals of the Masters after a dominant performance to beat England's Jack Lisowski 6-1.
Ronnie, Ryan Day and Luca Brecel all through as well.
An comfortable 6-2 win for Barry Hawkins over Shaun Murphy last night.
A strange noise during the match between Trump and Wilson
https://mwww.twitter.com/Livesnooker/status/1085546662968389632
Have some people turned up at ally pally to watch darts ? Some of the shouting out in tonight's match with Hawkins.and Robertson has been unnecessary. Tomorrow afternoon will be rowdier with Ronnie O'Sullivan playing Ding.
As pleased as I am for Judd Trump, you have to ask what happened to Mark Selby - he was all over the place.
Selby just doesn't seem to be the player he was when winning the world title back in 2017.
A great win for Judd Trump over Ronnie O'Sullivan to win the Masters.
Indeed, that was a mature polished performance from Judd against Ronnie.
Congratulations to Judd. Did all the legwork in the first session, leaving Ronnie a mountain to climb. Wanted Ronnie to win but all due respect to Judd as he also beat Selby with some brilliant match play snooker on route. One of the favourites for the crucible now?
David Gilbert makes the 147th official 147 in the Championship League, Group 5! He will earn £600 for it.

Gutted for David Gilbert. Two times this season he’s had a lead towards the end of a final but a ranking title continues to elude him. His time will come hopefully in the not too distant future.
World Grand Prix starts here in Cheltenham today.
Two Welsh players have been banned from snooker after a corruption inquiry.
Former professional David John will serve a suspension of five years and seven months, while Jamie Jones has been given a one-year ban.
Yuan Sijun pulls off another great scalp! After beating John Higgins last week and Mark Williams yesterday he now beats Stephen Maguire 4-2 to reach the Quarter Finals of the World Grand Prix!
Mark Allen conceded the match when 3-1 down and 20-2 points down in his match against Ali Carter
https://www.twitter.com/WorldSnooker/status/1093526048531083265
When asked if he regretted his actions. Mark Allen said
It will be a Judd Trump v Barry Hawkins semi-final as they go through with Judd beating Selby 5-1 and Hawkins beating Kyren Wilson 5-2.
Ali Carter reached his first ranking final for two years with a 6-0 thrashing of China's Xiao Goudong at the World Grand Prix.
Congratulations to Judd Trump! He becomes the 10th player to win 10 career ranking titles beating Ali Carter in the final 10-6.
Neil Robertson makes a 147 maximum break at the Welsh Open. His 4th in professional competition.
Thanks to Mart!n for finding this. A strange moment from The Crucible back in 2013.
World Champion Mark Williams is out of the Welsh Open after losing 4-2 to Zhang Anda in the second round.
Robertson-Bingham is my prediction for the final.
Cant see Robertson not reaching the final with that draw.
Bingham seems to be extra motivated for this tournament and needs the ranking points for the Crucible.
Neil Robertson will play Stuart Bingham in the Welsh Open final after a 6-0 semi-final win over Iran's Hossein Vafaei.
Neil Robertson is the Welsh Open champion for the 2nd time after beating Stuart Bingham 9-7!
It is now 14 years in a row he’s won at least one trophy, Neil Robertson.
I think that the occasion may have got to Hossein Vafaei which was a shame to see after he beat Selby in the last 16.
Stuart Bingham's opinion on the Snooker Shootout
http://stuartbingham.com/2019/02/shootout2019/
Were Evans and White randomly drawn to play each other, or was this set up intentionally...? Well it was for Jimmy White over Reanne Evans in the Shootout.
Second round draw of the Snooker Shootout.

Stephen Maguire now safe for the Players Championship with Zhao Xintong out of the Shoot Out, the final 16 confirmed.
Players Championship Draw
1 - Mark Allen v 16 - Stephen Maguire
8 - Dave Gilbert v 9 - Stuart Bingham
5 - Ronnie O'Sullivan v 12 - Barry Hawkins
4 - Mark Selby v 13 - John Higgins
3 - Neil Robertson v 14 - Joe Perry
6 - Mark Williams v 11 - Ali Carter
7 - Kyren Wilson v 10 - Jack Lisowski
2 - Judd Trump v 15 - Jimmy Robertson
Bit of a strange moment in the 4th frame last night at the Players Championship between Ronnie and Barry Hawkins.
And it got weirder with Mr O'Sullivan
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/snooker/47441567
John Higgins beats Mark Selby 6-4.
The World Number 1 is out of the Coral Players Championship. It will be a O'Sullivan v Higgins quarter-final then.
Another early exit for Selby again. He has only won three tournaments across all of last season and this one combined, and he hasn't troubled any of the triple crown events.
In fact he is often the forgotten man, not getting the mentions the others do, and he is world number one!
Also through to the quarter-finals is Stuart Bingham with a 6-4 victory over Dave Gilbert.
Mark Williams pulls one back, 5-3 now in his quarter-final match with Neil Robertson.
I think Jack Lisowski must be feeling as a sick as a parrot after he let a 5-2 lead slip away against Judd Trump in their quarter-final match, with Trump winning 6-5.
Outstanding break from Neil Robertson with the other 5 colours all on cushions. A match winner. He'll play Judd Trump next in the semi-finals.
Ronnie´s now playing exceptionally low-key snooker, which suits very well to him. But once again he needs to try to forget being completely flawless. If he fails to be slightly flawless in terms of missing a one or two easy position shots, I mean failing to get the cannon correct, John will probably get better of him in their Players Championship quarter-final this afternoon.
I think it will be Neil Robertson that will win against him and Trump, probably a 6-4 win for him.
Good win for Ronnie over John Higgins with a 6-4 win over him, he'll play Mark Allen in the semi-finals.
Jill Douglas asks if Trump can be as good as Higgins or Hendry. Ronnie did well to not laugh there.
Neil Robertson is the first man through to the Players Championship final after an impressive 6-4 victory over Judd Trump.
1000 centuries for Ronnie - what an achievement!
That achievement of 1000 centuries is one of the greatest achievements in snooker, absolutely phenomenal stuff from Ronnie. The last few shots had more cheers than someone winning the World Championship or for a maximum.
Bingham wins 4-1 at the Gibraltar Open against Ryan Day.
Mark Selby reels off an incredible six consecutive frames, with the aid of three centuries, to open up a 6-2 lead over Neil Robertson at the halfway stage of the contest of the Tour Championship.
Judd Trump wins four straight frames to come back and beat Mark Williams in the Tour Championship from being 8-5 down.
In the other match between Selby and Neil Robertson. It was Neil Robertson who won 9-8 on the final black in a 65 minute final frame.
The end of the first session in the first semi-final.
Trump 6-2 O'Sullivan
An absolutely fantastic display so far from Judd Trump!
Neil Robertson will face Ronnie O'Sullivan in the Tour Championship final after sweeping past Mark Allen 10-6.
Mark Allen has pulled out of the China Open next week.
Defending champion Mark Selby is out of the China Open to world number 92 Craig Steadman in the first round. It means that Ronnie O'Sullivan will be World No.1 going into the World Championships.
A look at the provisional Crucible rankings updated daily:
http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?template=48&season=2018
Marco Fu just lost in the final match of the day. You know he is down to 36 in the rankings now, after his eye issues. Just shows how you can drop when out through injury.
Barry Hawkins, John Higgins, Judd Trump, Ding Junhui, Mark Williams are all out in the second round of the China Open.
Welsh snooker player Jamie Jones has lost an appeal against a 12-month ban for failing to report corruption.
In positive news, Stuart Bingham made the 151st 147 against Peter Ebdon in the China Open.
And here it is:
Neil Robertson has now won 17 frames in a row in the China Open after beating Sam Cragie 6-0. He'll play Luca Brecel in the semi-final.
Go Jack Lisowski!
If he could win, it could be a breakthough like when his mate Judd Trump won the same competition in 2011...
Neil Robertson wins his 16th ranking title which takes him 1 ahead of Mark Selby.
Jack Lisowski is getting closer all the time and surely it's only a matter of time before he breaks his duck.
Finished 11-4 to Neil.
I saw the 141 break earlier in the match, very clinical. Apparently there was an easy red missed by Lisowski earlier which could have put Robertson off his stride according to the commentary I heard.

Northern Ireland's two-time World Championship semi-finalist Joe Swail has retired as a professional player.
The Belfast man has taken the decision "due to various health/mental reasons needed to compete at the top level".
Swail, 49, finished the 2018/19 season 89th in the world rankings after a 10-1 defeat by Joe O'Connor in the World Championship qualifiers.
China's Yan Bingtao became the first teenager for 13 years to win a ranking title with a 5-2 win over Mark Joyce in the final of the Riga Masters.
The 19-year-old world number 21 dominated the 54th-ranked Englishman and a break of 66 sealed victory.
Yan is the youngest ranking title winner since compatriot Ding Junhui won the 2006 Northern Ireland Open aged 19.
Mark Allen continued his bid to retain the International Championship title with a comfortable 6-2 victory over England's Ali Carter.
Judd Trump beat two-time winner Mark Selby to reach the final of the International Championship.
Trump, who replaced Ronnie O'Sullivan as world number one earlier this week, won 9-4 in Daqing, China.
The 29-year-old fell 3-1 behind but recovered to lead 5-3 at the end of the opening session, dropping just one more frame on his way to victory.
Snooker legend Jimmy White has finally won a world title at the Crucible - the world seniors event.
'The Whirlwind' - now aged 57 - famously finished runner-up six times in the World Snooker Championship.
But the Englishman was celebrating on Sunday evening after beating Darren Morgan 5-3 in the the final and picking up £25,000 for winning a seniors event that was being held at the Crucible for the first time.
All Glasgow final in the world 6 reds as John Higgins will play Stephen Maguire.

Mark Selby produced a dominant display to thrash David Gilbert 9-1 in the English Open final in Crawley.
England's world number five opened up a 5-0 lead before compatriot Gilbert, ranked 12th in the world, won a frame.
Selby led 7-1 after the first session and took little time in securing the two frames he needed when the match resumed at the K2 Leisure Centre.
He finished off with a 101 break to secure his 16th world ranking title and the £70,000 first prize.
Austria will stage a world ranking event for the first time in January when the BetVictor European Masters take place in Dornbirn.
The event will take place at the Messe Dornbirn venue from January 22nd to 26th and it’s the first event in the new BetVictor European Series.
Great to see Jimmy White in the Champion of Champions event, thanks to winning the World Seniors - and he's due to play Ronnie too!
Judd Trump captured his 13th ranking title with a 10-5 win over Thailand's Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in the World Open final in Yushan, China.
A 6th 147 for Stuart Bingham in his first round match at the Northern Ireland Open.
Despite getting to the final, Ronnie still needs some more points to be certain of making the Coral series of tournaments.
I believe he is now 20-something on the one year list.
He is in 22nd for the World Grand Prix rankings.

I saw parts of the final, and it was very good between Judd Trump and Ronnie O'Sullivan, a high quality final.
Saudi Arabia will host a ranking event for the first time next season after a 10-year deal was agreed with World Snooker.
The Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters will take place in Riyadh from 4-10 October 2020 with total prize money of £2.5m.
The champion will receive £500,000, the same amount as the winner of the World Championship.
Home favourites John Higgins, Graeme Dott, Anthony McGill and Scott Donaldson were among the winners on day one of the Scottish Open.
Higgins will play Switzerland's Alexander Ursenbacher in round two after beating Jamie O'Neill 4-1.
Dott defeated Igor Figueiredo 4-0 while McGill and Donaldson beat Hammad Miah and Lei Peifan, respectively, 4-2.
McGill next faces England's Elliot Slessor, whose English compatriot Billy Joe Castle will meet Donaldson.
Northern Ireland's Mark Allen beat Andy Hicks 4-2 to set up a second-round tie with England's Louis Heathcote, who overcame Anthony Hamilton 4-1.
Marco Fu beat Sam Craigie without losing a frame and Mark Selby defeated Mark Joyce 4-2.
Jack Lisowski beat defending champion Mark Allen in the deciding frame to set up a Scottish Open final with Mark Selby.
Lisowksi, 28, won three frames in a row from 3-2 down before being taken the distance by Northern Irishman Allen at Glasgow's Emirates Arena.
A break of 95 then sent the world number 14 through to Sunday's final.
