The BBC has a new singing competition called "Pitch Battle" starting at some point this Summer.
It's hosted by Mel Giedroyc and the judges are Gareth Malone and Kelis, with various guest judges including Will Young, Seal, Joe Jonas and Chaka Khan. It's seems like an interesting format - it's based around Pitch Perfect. It's probably going to be one of those shows that's either really awful and cringe or amazing. Probably gonna end up being awful and cringe  QUOTE The brand new series, which sees rival musical groups facing-off against each other, will be presented by Mel Giedroyc, a self-confessed music lover and no stranger to the world of singing herself having previously starred in The Rocky Horror Show Live and Eurovision spoof Eurobeat. Each week, Mel will be welcoming singing groups from across the land to the stage where they will compete head-to-head over a series of choral challenges including Pitch Perfect inspired riff offs, a soloists challenge and an a capella round.

KELIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That makes this worth a shot at least.
It's giving me Don't Stop Believing (remember that awful Glee style choir thing on Channel 5) teas though

What's more shocking is that she's RELEVANT enough to be a talent show judge in 2017! Fantastic though.

Oh my LORD Kelis! I hardly even bother with tv these days but I'll definitely be watching this for her 😍
Also, her and Gareth Malone, what a wonderful duo. |

Talent show judge doesn't equal irrelevant, but she hasn't had a hit in 6 years so it's not like she's stooping
She's a good pick though, a bit random but I like that rather than having someone dull like Jess Glynne or whatever.

This concept sounds bad enough but anything with Gareth Malone in it is enough to make sure I'm not tuning in.

I switched off after a bit, it was quite awful :/ Kelis was the only thing saving the show.

The only thing worse than the actual show is the bloody adverts they show for it before shows where the groups do acapella versions of the theme tunes
 This again really misses the mark as a talent show, I just found it a bit of a chore to watch. The only good bit for me was Kelis, who I wish was utilised on a better show but ah well.
