She's releasing 10th November following the (likely) back-to-back #1 singles Crazy Stupid Love & I Don't Care
I'm going to go with 41-45k. I can't see her doing much more than A Million Lights (that sold 35k in its first week I believe) given that it was released after "Call My Name" which was a much bigger hit than both "Crazy Stupid Love" & "I Don't Care".
Between 30,000 and 35,000. Although I could be overstimating her sales.
41-45k and a #5 or #6 debut. Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Queen and Ed Sheeran will all outsell her, and I wouldn't put it past Sam Smith to outsell her as well after his X Factor performance on Sunday night.
She's not a big album seller, so I'm gonna go with 40k tops.
I think she will have something around 40k-50k.
30-35k
31-35k with a #3 or #4 debut.
30k I think
4 people predicting 21-30k... The album is doomed for eternity if it sells 30,000 or less. DOOMED.
50k maximum in first week. Her last album barely sold 100k in total and album sales have been in decline since then.
Even with her high profile on X Factor I'm not sure this album can achieve platinum sales.
Are people taking into account that 'A Million Lights' was released in Q2 (June 2012)? Sales are usually much lower at that time of year than in Q4. In fact that album was the third best selling June release of 2012, but only the 103rd best selling album of the year overall, so that shows what a low selling month June was that year for new releases.
Her prior two albums were released in Q4. I'd be surprised if 'Only Human' sold less in its first week than 'A Million Lights', but I guess we shall see. People here have underestimated how she'd do with 'Crazy Stupid Love' and 'I Don't Care', so perhaps she could surprise us with her new album. I'm hopeful for 50k+.
I have low expectations for the album sadly, the market is so competitivite lately, but as you say we could be surprised.
I'd only predict around 25k for this I think.
I'm going with 41-45k - with sales picking up a tad in the run up to Christmas and promotion from X-Factor, if she couldn't sell that at the least I'd be quite embarrassed.
I know that this might seem like a strange comparison, but I'm just noticing its iTunes and Amazon positions in relation with where Calvin Harris's album was at this point lask week:
Motion was #14 on iTunes; Only Human is currently #66 (it was in the late 20s earlier in the week following the releases of the promo singles). Motion was in the 40s on Amazon; Only Human is #77 at the moment.
Based on this it's not looking likely that she will sell 40k, which is about what Calvin will do this week.
Once again, I know that Calvin and Cheryl cater to different audiences, but as both are seemingly underperforming it's perhaps something to take into account.
