Mel's trolling was annoying when it meant we lost Lola, but I love her more now given it's because of her we're rid of Jay I was pretty sure Cheryl would save Stevi but I thought she'd be the only one. Mel didn't even like Stevi before, she was just like "f*** it let's save him" <3
As I said though, he was genuinely better than Jay in the sing-off! |

Personally I wouldn't buy any of them. But at least Stevi is entertaining to watch unlike Ben, Lauren, Stereo Kicks & to a lesser extent Andrea.

I don't think it was a case of Mel suddenly having a big turnaround with Stevi, more she just really doesn't like Jay at all.

In all fairness, Stevi's performance was waaaay better than Jay's in the sing-off.

In all fairness, Stevi's performance was waaaay better than Jay's in the sing-off. Exactly. I wouldn't buy his music and I don't even really think he's that entertaining anymore, but I just find him quite likeable actually and even when looking at who's left in the competition now I'd prefer to watch him perform than Stereo Kicks and probably Ben actually. Plus for once, that proved you can easily fall in the sing off with a weak performance... Jay was terrible last night and seemed to put very little into it, whilst you can tell Stevi wanted to stay and gave it his all. If we judge on those two performances, which is essentially, and always should be, the point of the sing-off, it was 100% the right result. I bet if Jay had stayed, everyone would moan that he stayed based on a really weak sing-off again to be fair |

Personally I would ditch the sing-off and just go with the public vote.
After all the judges are just giving their personal opinions and not the public's. That's why very few winners ever get anywhere after the winner's single. Only Leona, Alexandra and Little Mix. I think you have a better career coming 2nd to 6th. Look at One Direction, Olly Murs, Cher Lloyd (especially in USA), Ella Henderson etc. This post has been edited by euro music: 17th November 2014, 06:09 PM |

Can we all talk about how DREADFUL the sing-offs have been this year? And when I think back to the glory days of Ruth Lorenzo's 'Purple Rain' performance..

I think the sing offs are showing that most contestants are really relying on backing tracks/vocals, back up singers and staging to carry them this year. |

That's kinda the point of having judges... I know that - but the judges shouldn't have the casting vote - it should be entirely down to the public vote. The one with the least votes should be eliminated and if it's a double elimination the bottom 2 should go. The judges have had their votes before the lives. Most of the time it ends up going to deadlock anyway so the judges' cackle is rendered redundant...

They can't do that otherwise Cowell can get sued by Simon Fuller for X Factor bassicly being the same format as Pop Idol. |
