Zara has teased her next single, Don't Worry Bout Me, on Instagram today - should be released in the next couple of weeks (or last couple of months depending on how you look at it laugh.gif )

Posted by: Wall 10th March 2019, 09:18 PM

I don’t think this will be a huge smash. It could go top 10 in the UK but I don’t know if Epic will support her in the USA considering they’re not a huge fan of the single!

Why are they releasing it if that's how they feel?

I at least hope it's better than 'Ruin My Life', I couldn't get on board with that at all.

Posted by: Wall 12th March 2019, 02:00 PM

Zara feels passionate about the single but she said epic don’t like the single and this is why there’s been such a long wait. Label said no but Zara said yeh. Label didn’t like Lush Life or never forget you yet they supported So Good.....

They will support the song as soon as the song shows potential, If its meant to be a hit, it will be. They didn't wanto to release LL and NFY, so look at that, a label that released "So Good" as single can't be trusted tbh.
So i'll trust Zara's taste this time.

Looking forward to this! Ruin My Life was such a grower.

Posted by: 365 17th March 2019, 05:25 PM

I need this to be better than RML.

Posted by: HausofTove 17th March 2019, 05:29 PM

I grew to really like RML so colour me intrigued for this ~

DWAM is upbeat

Posted by: Cqmerqn 17th March 2019, 10:50 PM

At least it sounds better than Ruin My Career.

She needs to get releasing this some time soon.

See I disagree but at the same time agree. 'Ruin My Life' wasn't exactly the sort of comeback that the public wanted and it did underperform around Europe, however it still managed a peak of #9 in the United Kingdom which is decent enough and it's a good way to re-introduce herself and it did have a decent healthy chart run. She has a good fanbase in the UK but 'Don't Worry Bout Me' needs to be that smash, I remain unconvinced.

Agreed. The video has been shot so I can see it being released on the 29th or the 5th.

sorry ruin my life can't here close to me from the top 10 and overall uk sales x

I wonder if it will outperform flux ?

Posted by: SameBoy 20th March 2019, 02:16 PM

It will outperform, outpeak, outsing Flux easily tho. tongue.gif

can't wait.

Posted by: Wall 23rd March 2019, 03:50 PM

Apparently studio version makes it sound like the mother of ruin your life but more towards I would like

Posted by: Wall 23rd March 2019, 08:52 PM

Legit no hype for this gahhhh, she needs to up her Social media promo

Posted by: Cqmerqn 23rd March 2019, 11:42 PM

She needs to drop Wow instead

Posted by: Wall 25th March 2019, 10:58 AM

Expecting this to flop.

There's major issues between Epic and Zara right now according to twitter and Zara has liked a lot of shady comments towards Epic while shading epic in some tweets. This is the same record label that didn't like 'Lush Life' and 'Never Forget You' but wanted 'So Good' as a single. Epic don't like 'Don't Worry Bout Me' either. I don't see this being pushed in the slightest in the US but I can see 'Don't Worry Bout Me' being pushed in the UK. In all honesty it wouldn't surprise me if the single release was pushed back or cancelled.

Posted by: Wall 26th March 2019, 08:07 PM

Unless it’s 59p this won’t trouble the top 30 on iTunes and I can see low Spotify placements due to label issues. She’s on Germany's Next Topmodel this Thursday

Posted by: SameBoy 26th March 2019, 09:48 PM

if she doesn't post the single cover tomorrow morning... not even a teaser of the video yet, what is she doing..

Posted by: SameBoy 26th March 2019, 09:52 PM

At least i saw some music journalists saying the song is amazing. One even said its her best since Lush Life. kink.gif

Posted by: Wall 26th March 2019, 10:02 PM

I just don’t really like it much judging by the live performances gah

Posted by: Cqmerqn 27th March 2019, 11:46 AM

Posted by: Wall 27th March 2019, 12:05 PM

This is coming 4am, Radio 1 have began hyping it on twitter! Get that 4am play Zara *.* Why is she continuing to release on Thursdays?

Posted by: Theonix 27th March 2019, 01:01 PM

I love the artwork lol? Miles better than Ruin My 5head

Posted by: SameBoy 27th March 2019, 01:37 PM

i really like the cover and people on other forums/media seems to like too.

Can't wait for this bop, 14 hours and 20 minutes to go.

Posted by: SameBoy 27th March 2019, 01:45 PM

She canceled her Hits Radio concert for X Factor finale performance but they will still support her

I'm sure Capital will fully support her too.
biggrin.gif

Posted by: Wall 27th March 2019, 01:52 PM

The amount of random hype this has received suddenly. Poor 'Wow'. It would be good if she put up a pre-order for the album shortly too and put 'Wow' as an 'Instant Grat'.

Has a performance been confirmed for The Voice finale? Not her cancelling another Hits concert to perform elsewhere. Capital have already began hyping 'Don't Worry Bout Me'.

Apparently it sounds like Drake ‘Passion Fruit’

Don’t Worry Bout Me was produced by fellow Swedish producers The Struts, who have worked on all three of Tove Lo’s albums including hits Habits (Stay High), Talking Body, and Cool Girl!

Sounding good on first listen!

Posted by: Wall 28th March 2019, 07:24 AM

The production is incredible.

There’s a bit too much autone though and I just don’t think the song goes anywhere. It doesn’t sound like a hit either, I truly hope she releases ‘wow’ tomorrow too as a back up.

I have no idea why she's not going pure pop, almost every single that has smashed for her is pop.

I can legit see this struggling, she's still at #90 on iTunes which is incredibly disappointing considering sales are much lower on a Thursday, she's not even got a fanbase to automatically go top 20 on iTunes which is something she did everytime during the 'So Good' era. It wouldn't surprise me if this struggled to go top 40. I've not felt this off with a Zara single since 'So Good'.

Posted by: Liаm 28th March 2019, 12:27 PM

Ok it's not "her best since Lush Life" as that guy on Twitter was teasing but it's lushhh, I love the production. Like Ruin My Life, it's quite subtle so I'm sure it will grow more and more took, but I like it more than I liked RML on first listen, although I grew to love that a fair bit.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 28th March 2019, 01:08 PM

This is SO SO SO much better than 'Ruin My Life'.

Thank GOD.

Posted by: Jonjo 28th March 2019, 06:32 PM

RML > This

But this is REALLY good too!! I say this as someone who isn't a fan of chill-house or whatever this sort of dance is called.

It’s better than Ruin My Life but it’s more like something Louisa would release rather than Zara.

It’s a step down from her earlier singles for sure.

#3 on NMF along with the cover biggrin.gif

Hopefully they will put this straight away on HHUK on the next update.

Posted by: Wall 29th March 2019, 08:07 AM

It's been added to HHUK, very low down but better than nothing. It's not been added to TTH yet though.

Posted by: HausofTove 29th March 2019, 08:50 AM

I've been loving this more and more with each listen. The production is absolutely SUBLIME (expected). Could be my favourite single from her - Funeral remains her best song overall though of course x

I'm still not a massive fan of this song and I hope the video makes me adore it, but I feel like I'm listening to the song to stan Zara and if it was any other artist I wouldn't be playing it anywhere near as much.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 29th March 2019, 09:36 AM

It's a really interesting sound for her, compared to a lot of her more 'basic' sounding singles. I hope this outperforms 'Ruin My Life' (as it so deserves to)

Posted by: Wall 29th March 2019, 10:33 AM

She's performing at the Freehits event in Birmingham on 5th May!

Posted by: Wall 29th March 2019, 12:56 PM

Debuted at #21 on Swedish Spotify.

Didn't chart anywhere else.

Day 1 Streams: 244,272 streams.

Capital still haven't played 'Don't Worry Bout Me' either. They had 'Ruin My Life' on heavy rotation by this point. I'm sure it will be added though.

Zara has said that she doesn’t like the video so it’s not coming out.

Ha yeah yeah, more like the label want to push Wow instead.

Posted by: Wall 31st March 2019, 11:36 AM

She’s actually so frustrating to stan.

What an absolute mess, any video is better than no video. It’s showing decent enough signs of being a reasonable hit due to Spotify but I can imagine her label being fed up as they’re allowing her to decide almost everything. Alessia Cara teas

Posted by: Wall 31st March 2019, 11:40 AM

It’s legit almost five months since ‘Ruin My Life’, you would think this would have been planned better.

Posted by: Wall 31st March 2019, 01:28 PM

It's currently #56 on UK iTunes and #144 on Spotify. Can legit see this missing the top 40 this week especially with no music video.

Posted by: danG 31st March 2019, 03:45 PM

Yeah after that fall I'm not expecting it to make top 40 sadly. It's a lot better than Ruin My Life for me but a big hit it is not.

Posted by: Cqmerqn 31st March 2019, 05:04 PM

She needs to release Wow before she loses anymore momentum

Posted by: Wall 31st March 2019, 09:26 PM

Posted by: Theonix 1st April 2019, 07:31 AM

This bops so hard! It's very similar musically to Ruin My Life but it's so much more instant and the chorus doesn't feel like she's word vomiting, I'm very impressed!

Posted by: Wall 1st April 2019, 09:09 AM

Day 1 Streams: 244,272
Day 2 Streams: 1,147,000
Day 3 Streams: 704,355
Day 4 Streams: 708,679

I'm starting to get into 'Don't Worry Bout Me' a lot more and I do think I would prefer it more had it been an album track. I don't think I was high on the track mainly because she's capable of better. I just think Zara's got tons of potential and as much of a bop as this is, it's not a worldwide smash and she has the star quality and presence to become a superstar but it just seems like she's losing popularity in Europe too. I guess it's good that she's not a label puppet and she wants to release what songs she likes and only put out videos she's happy? I just want a smooth campaign and not a messy era.

Posted by: Wall 1st April 2019, 05:45 PM

Yeah, I can see this only impacting for around a month with no music video before they quickly move onto 'Wow'. It's incredibly weird to see Capital snubbing 'Don't Worry Bout Me' though, I think this could be the first Zara single they've not instantly playlisted. Yeah and plus, a Summertime Ball account on twitter that leaks infos about the lineup is teasing Zara as part of the festival this year.

Maybe they didn't playlist because the release of Wow is imminent?

Posted by: Wall 2nd April 2019, 06:41 PM

See I don't believe that. She wouldn't be doing radio station visits and promoting 'Don't Worry Bout Me' if 'Wow' was imminent. I don't think we will be seeing 'Wow' anytime soon either but this campaign has just been a gigantic mess, I thought she would have realised that from 'So Good',

Posted by: SameBoy 2nd April 2019, 06:47 PM

hmm, idk, i think she made a quick visit cause it's a new song and she needed to please them. All this mess is getting on my nerves. I think we'll get Wow in early May max, they can't waste the hype of the comercial.

Although hearing Wow makes me want to go

Posted by: Wall 5th April 2019, 08:10 AM

I guess it's still going to be pushed in the UK then!

Posted by: Jonjo 5th April 2019, 03:55 PM

Why would it not be pushed still? ohmy.gif

I really think this is just the typical Buzzjack craze of jumping the gun just coz it ain't a hit right off the bat. Airplay needs to build before most songs are hits now.

I can see this being a hit still, personally! It has all the makings of being a UK smash. So I will be surprised if this isn't at least a RML sort of hit (I feel like it could be bigger though).

Posted by: Wall 5th April 2019, 04:00 PM

Well ‘Wow’ is meant to be released in 2 weeks and it’s already top 40 on USA Shazam. Capital have also not playlisted this instantly like they normally do.

Don’t Worry Bout Me debuted at #7 in Sweden, same peak as ‘So Good’.

Posted by: HausofTove 5th April 2019, 05:24 PM

Yeah she really needs to work on that Shazam promo for this if she wants it to be any sort of hit x

Bitch it’s the highest she’s been in USA since never forget you on Shazam

Posted by: Wall 5th April 2019, 05:52 PM

Posted by: Bré 9th April 2019, 10:55 PM

This is way better than 'Ruin My Life', I like the production a lot! I'm not really surprised at it not being an immediate hit but I hope it can climb for her (although it's already dropping in the mids oops).

Posted by: SameBoy 11th April 2019, 11:02 PM

59p this week.

Posted by: Wall 11th April 2019, 11:31 PM

I would have preferred 9p.

I can see this scraping the top 40 tbh as no doubt ‘Wow’ will overshadow it on Spotify and iTunes!

Posted by: Wall 12th April 2019, 05:23 PM

Chart run is currently 51-53. Im guessing it should get a new peak next week though.

It’s spotify placements are a great shame, far too low and I cant see this being successful at all especially with ‘Wow’ being released in two weeks.

Posted by: Wall 14th April 2019, 10:27 AM

This isn't being sent to US radio, So I'm guessing 'Wow' will be the song being pushed in America.

That video is legit awful

Removed from TTH

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 26th April 2019, 09:00 AM

I don't think it's terrible or anything, there's just not a lot to it. I'm glad we at least have something anyway.

Posted by: Wall 26th April 2019, 05:04 PM

It’s entered the UK airplay at #48. I can see this being a UK single with a peak of around #32. Spotify really needs to pick up though.

It also managed a new peak of #47 in the official charts making the chart run so far 51-53-53-47

Posted by: Cqmerqn 26th April 2019, 05:17 PM

Eeeekkkk at TTH

Posted by: Wall 27th April 2019, 03:13 PM

It’s #4 on UK Apple Top Hits! Currently #31 now on Apple Music. Top 40 is coming next week! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 28th April 2019, 10:57 PM

I genuinely 100% do not understand how 'Ruin My Life' was a hit and this can't be. sad.gif I guess that's something that will just baffle me for eternity.

Posted by: Wall 29th April 2019, 04:50 PM

#34 in midweeks! biggrin.gif

Posted by: BigMixer 9th May 2019, 02:02 PM

Any chance this is getting a new peak this week?

Posted by: Wall 9th May 2019, 02:08 PM

It's #22 on iTunes now sad.gif

It's too low on Spotify now and has dropped on Apple Music.

Posted by: Wall 9th May 2019, 02:24 PM

It's peaked at #49 on Radio and not charted top 50 on TV.

Truly not supported so anything above #34 now is a bonus.

Flop

Posted by: tommie 9th May 2019, 06:46 PM

This alberm will end up like Louisa's pirate.gif

Posted by: Wall 9th May 2019, 07:03 PM

Nah. I’m worried about it as I don’t think all that time is the smash tbh

Y’all can also vote for don’t worry about me here

She’s currently #38

I somehow expect her label could be making this a long lasting hit so expecting it to climb Spotify on the next HHUK

Posted by: Wall 10th May 2019, 10:55 AM

Still on A-List.

I'm truly hoping Spotify give this a push in the next update and she promotes because this could legit go top 20 which will set her up decently enough for 'All This Time'.

Posted by: Cqmerqn 10th May 2019, 01:55 PM

Ruin My Life set her up decently which is.... flopping a little or at least underperforming.

Posted by: Wall 10th May 2019, 02:04 PM

How did 'Ruin My Life' flop?

You keep saying this but it managed to go top 10 which is a decent enough result considering it's not exactly a song that would go number one by any artist?

Posted by: Wall 11th May 2019, 01:56 AM

Save Don’t Worry Bout Me tbh

This is what I meant. For some reason I forgot to add ‘for this’. Ruin My Life is not a flop, but DWBM is.

Well, excuse you, but Zara's got more important things to do as getting involved with messy internet feuds with random make up bloggers:

The Lifestyle of $ucce$$.

Posted by: Wall 11th May 2019, 08:12 PM

316,000 likes though.

Better than her entire dont Worry Bout me promotion!

Posted by: Wall 13th May 2019, 01:30 PM

so close to a new spotify peak

pull through label this week with spotify payola and some promo

Posted by: Wall 14th May 2019, 03:02 PM

New peak of #64 on Spotify! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Juliano 15th May 2019, 07:15 PM

Hearing this on the radio a lot these past few days! Would love to see this creep into the top 20.

Posted by: Cqmerqn 25th May 2019, 11:40 AM

This deserved better. What a FLOP! sad.gif

It's hard to have a pop career when you spend your time fighting with YouTube trolls x

Posted by: Cqmerqn 25th May 2019, 02:50 PM

I’m not trolling lmao, Ruin My Life was a top 10 hit whereas this is struggling to stay top 40. A flop smash!

Ellie can’t relate xx

Posted by: Wall 25th May 2019, 03:43 PM

you only post in zara's thread to mention she's a flop

don't worry about zara, you should worry about ellie. This is basically an independent release lmao, her label aren't supporting it because they didn't want it as a single.

Posted by: Wall 26th May 2019, 03:18 PM

She deserves better

Posted by: Cqmerqn 26th May 2019, 03:20 PM

LMAOOO why are they all so still omg

Posted by: Wall 26th May 2019, 04:46 PM

??

They’re not still at all. She was also opening before James bay this show so it’s quite busy but they’ve re arranged and James will go on before Zara

Posted by: Wall 27th May 2019, 12:42 AM

New peak of #55 on Spotify!

She’s legit probably going to hang around 30-40 for another couple of weeks before her new single!

Posted by: BigMixer 27th May 2019, 02:04 PM

C'mon, please reach the top 30 sad.gif

Posted by: Wall 29th May 2019, 08:24 PM

Lol randomly removed from HHUK sad.gif just as it was picking momentum lmao

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 30th May 2019, 09:34 AM

Oh GRRRRRR.

This deserved better! It's an injustice. sad.gif

Posted by: Cqmerqn 30th May 2019, 09:20 PM

Down to 127 on Spotify

This made NOW 103

Posted by: Wall 27th July 2019, 04:57 AM

“Don’t Worry About Me” it’s the 13th best selling song by a female artist in 2019 in the UK with over 130,000 copies shifted so far

How depressing / tragic is that at the moment, females are truly struggling

Posted by: Jack 27th July 2019, 12:52 PM

It's not quite as bad as it used to be, this time in 2017 the only Top 5 female hit we had was 'Chained To The Rhythm' by Katy!

Posted by: Algernon Monqueef 3rd August 2019, 12:56 PM

Haven't even heard this, but keep hearing Ruin Ma Life. Hated that at first, but now I actually like it and listen to it now and then! The censored version, though, as the swearing one is jarring and doesn't go with a little pop bop. Trying to be edgy in pop songs NEVER works - ask Anne Marie.

Posted by: Wall 3rd August 2019, 02:23 PM

Listen to Dont Worry Bout me and all the time

Okay I've listened to it. It's no Lush Life or Ruin Ma Life now is it? manson.gif

Posted by: Jαsє 5th August 2019, 04:07 PM

Still a bop x

Posted by: Wall 14th March 2020, 11:03 PM

This deserved better

Sounds so fresh wtf

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 16th March 2020, 12:34 PM

The fact 'Ruin My Life' was a hit but this wasn't will forever annoy me, hugely.

It's so good. sad.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 16th March 2020, 02:22 PM

All her singles lately have been stellar. I'm so annoyed all but RML (which is hugely under appreciated in itself) weren't hits sad.gif
