Ariana is nominated for several Grammy Awards this year + is confirmed to be performing! With just a week left to go, I thought it'd be fun if we predicted which awards we think she'll win/lose and what she might be performing. Here's a reminder of her competition in each category...

Album of the year
Bon Iver - I,I
Lana Del Rey - Norman F***ing Rockwell!
Billie Eilish - When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next
H.E.R. - I Used To Know Her
Lil Nas X - 7
Lizzo - Cuz I Love You
Vampire Weekend - Father Of The Bride

Record of the year
Bon Iver - Hey, Ma
Billie Eilish - Bad Guy
Ariana Grande - 7 Rings
H.E.R. - Hard Place
Khalid - Talk
Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road
Lizzo - Truth Hurts
Post Malone & Swae Lee - Sunflower

Best pop solo performance
Beyonce - Spirit
Billie Eilish - Bad Guy
Ariana Grande - 7 Rings
Lizzo - Truth Hurts
Taylor Swift - You Need To Calm Down

Best pop duo/group performance
Ariana Grande & Social House - Boyfriend
Jonas Brothers - Sucker
Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus - Old Town Road
Post Malone & Swae Lee - Sunflower
Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello - Senorita

Best pop vocal album
Beyonce - The Lion King: The Gift
Billie Eilish - When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next
Ed Sheeran - No. 6 Collaborations Project

I'm going to predict:

Album of the year: LOSE
Record of the year: LOSE
Best pop solo performance: LOSE
Best pop duo/group performance: LOSE
Best pop vocal album: WIN

The competition is fierce this year but I'd be shocked if she walked away completely empty handed, pop vocal seems like her best shot I think.

Then my final prediction for the performance is a mash-up of 'thank u, next' and '7 rings', although I'm hoping for something more inspired!

Yeah, it's a real tough one and it's easy to see her not winning any but Pop Vocal was the one I paused on and thought... this could be it. So fingers crossed!

My prediction is actually the same as yours Jade!

I can’t see her winning more than one award and think she’s more likely to win for the album than for 7 rings or boyfriend.

Having said that I wouldn’t be totally shocked if she didn’t win anything at all because competition is so strong and I think Billie is gonna be in for a big night.

Tbh I can see her winning best Pop Vocal Album and that's about it as there's so much stacked competition in the other categories but still that would be a great category to win.

Latest rumour for the performance is 'imagine' with an orchestra ohmy.gif I'd be here for that! It's ever since Ariana posted this on social media:

There's actually some confusion. It's this years awards. When they refer to "2019" they mean the songs that were released in that period (so the nominations this year).

I believe it's either 'thank u, next' or '7 rings' that they're talking about. I'm gonna assume the latter, however a lot of people on Twitter seem to think tu,n!

EDIT:

Let's see who this cheating sob is...

The noms for SOTY this year:

- Billie Eilish - Bad Guy
- Brandi Carlile - Bring My Flowers Now
- H.E.R. - Hard Place
- Lady Gaga - Always Remember Us This Way
- Lana Del Rey - Norman F--king Rockwell
- Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved
- Lizzo - Truth Hurts
- Taylor Swift - Lover

-----

Reading further comments and a lot more people seem to think it's last years awards (so ntltc would be robbed)

If it's last year, I'm low-key thinking it was Shawn LMAO!

- Brandi Carlile - The Joke
- Childish Gambino - This Is America
- Drake - God's Plan
- Ella Mai - Boo'd Up
- Kendrick Lamar feat. SZA - All The Stars
- Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - Shallow
- Shawn Mendes - In My Blood
- Zedd feat. Maren Morris - The Middle

----

Imma guess it was Brandi tbh.

it's 100% TU,N and not 7 Rings as that was what was submitted in SOTY. I think it's Shawn if its 2018 (he didn't even make the pop field), or it could be H.E.R. both years and that explains why she keeps getting so many Grammy noms ahh

I’m still surprised 7 rings not Grammy nods in a major category when thank u, next and no tears didn’t.

Variety seem to think she'll win Album of the year...

Random for me to say? Nope. They have correctly guessed the winner for the last 3 GRAMMYs...

I really hope this becomes a reality. She deserves it! But I can't see past a Billie win. Lana & Ari next in line with Lizzo as a potential outsider.

I'm almost certain it'll be a Billie win too but that has given me a little more hope for Ariana’s chances ohmy.gif

I’d say Billies got it as well.

But if it’s not Ariana I’d be happy with Lana or Billie getting it. I just don’t want it to be Lizzo.

cry.gif what an era it has been! A 'thank u, next' medley would be so perfect to round it off.
