Time Flies....1994 - 2009 was the second Greatest Hits compilation from Oasis. 'Stop The Clocks' came out in 2006 as the first Greatest Hits album, but only featured 18 tracks which were chosen by Noel Gallagher and came about at the end of their record contract with Sony. Time Flies...1994-2009 got released on the 14th June 2010 containing all 27 singles the band had released between 1994 and 2009 including 'Whatever and 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' which had never appeared on any previous Oasis studio album. 'Sunday Morning Call' is not listed on the official tracklisting, but appears as a hidden track on the end of Disc 2 making it track 14, so I've decided to allow it in the rate.
8. Oasis - Stand By Me - 42.11%
Released as the second single from the bands third studio album 'Be Here Now', 'Stand By Me' peaked at Number 2 in the UK singles charts in September 1997, being kept from the top spot by the record-breaking Elton John single "Candle in the Wind 1997", which was re-recorded and released in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, who had died three weeks before the release of "Stand by Me". Noel Gallagher claims to have written the song whilst suffering from food poisoning when he first moved to London. In a characteristic example of Noel Gallagher lifting elements from songs of which he is fond, the rousing sequence of chord changes between the repeated chorus lyrics 'Stand by me/Nobody knows the way it's gonna be' bears a remarkable similarity to a similar chord sequence in Mott The Hoople's "All the Young Dudes".
Due to Noel Gallagher's dislike of the 'Be Here Now' album, 'Stand By Me' hasn't been featured in the bands live performances since the 'Be Here Now' tour as it's reported on Wikipedia that Noel would decide the bands setlists for Oasis tours.

I like 'Stand By Me', such a great 90's Britpop track and I do like the backing vocals from Noel on this track.
Continuing with 'Some Might Say'
Still voting for 'Whatever'!
Stop Crying Your Heart Out is definitely the weakest one left for me now.
Wow that's a fantastic top 7, we did good guys.
Gone for Whatever, though I could well switch to Wonderwall soon.
always liked Stand by Me but agree it's top 10 but not top 5 material
The Importance Of Being Idle is the weakest link by miles and miles, really bad lazy lyrics
Voted for Some Might Say this time.
Hope The Importance If Being Idle gets into the top 5, it's my favourite one left I think and would be nice to see later Oasis material represented.
The Importance Of Being Idle
Wonderwall.
Still Wonderwall here, really hope it doesn't get to the top 5. The rest of them are leagues above it now.
Stand By Me is an extremely underrated song. Candle In The Wind keeping both that & Sunchyme off #1, heartbreaking! I hadn't even noted that chord similarity to All The Young Dudes but that probably explains why I love it so much, as the Mott The Hoople song is also amazing & reminds me of playing Guitar Hero.
It is leagues ahead of the lead from Be Here Now.
It's Live Forever vs Don't Look Back for No1 isn't it!
4-way tie coming up...
Just to say if you're out in a pub, or stadium event, and you want to get the crowd singing along in unison there are 2 Oasis choices:
Wonderwall
Don't Look Back In Anger
None of the others will get anywhere near the same response and recognition from people who aren't necessarily Oasis fans...
"The public is always right: Discuss"
I actually think thats a bad sign, the masses don't have good taste, you just have to see who's been dominating the singles charts in recent times (Ed Sheeran, Drake, Ariana Grande, Bieber)... and its not just music, its the same with movies, books everything... it's only generic and middle of the road what appeals to the masses, so if everyone's favourite is Wonderwall that can only be a bad thing
that said I still think it's a great song and should be in the top 5
from the 7 left, there are 5 songs which are a million times better than the other 2:
Live forever, Whatever, Wonderwall, Some might say and Don't Look back in Anger
the other 2, Stop Crying your heart out and The Importance of Being Idle are much worst
Hmmmm, had to think about this one but I'll go with 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'.
The Importance Of Being Idle and Whatever are both brilliant,
Some Might Say
Anymore votes? Need to break the tie
Someone vote for 'Some Might Say' 😜
OMG someone vote Stop Crying Your Heart Out!!!
Yes! Stop Crying Your Heart Out to go!
