It's time to bring this to a close. I have received 19 sets of votes, and they all point towards one winner. Let's set about this in a proper, mature way, quite enough bouncing off the walls thank you very much. We came here to play guitars. ...don't hurt me for saying that. We shall aim for a start of 11:00 PM China time. Be there. (that's 4pm for Britain) |

I honestly think either of my top 2 has a great shot at winning this time lol
edit: Just remembered, my top pointer did win the last Nuggs and my top pointer in the last UP also won. This post has been edited by Mattias: 5th May 2019, 01:52 PM |

Glad these results are early (in UK time x) as I would probably have been unable to follow live if they were much later!
Hoping I'll at least get a better result than last time x |

1. Riser
Flash Republic - Twister QUOTE Okay, so it was me who sent Flash Republic 'Twister', i.e. the song that had already been sent to BJSC. I apologize for any trouble that caused, it was a last-minute entry when I had nothing else to send and was too rushed to check if it actually broke any rules. So it was definitely my own mistake and not the mods. Sorry! Anyway, here are my votes. 12 Orla Gartland - Why Am I Like This 10 Crossfaith - Wipeout 8 Polaris - The Remedy 7 Sylar - SHOOK! 6 Petal - Better Than You 5 Cleopatrick - Hometown 4 Vanish - Role Play 3 Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights 2 Holding Absence - Perish 1 Green Lung - May Queen SCOREBOARD 12 Orla Gartland - Why Am I Like This 10 Crossfaith - Wipeout 8 Polaris - The Remedy 7 Sylar - SHOOK! 6 Petal - Better Than You 5 Cleopatrick - Hometown 4 Vanish - Role Play 3 Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights 2 Holding Absence - Perish 1 Green Lung - May Queen We open with one of the more 'controversial' entries, an entry that was an obscure minor DNQ in BJSC years ago. That doesn't matter as no one here has heard it before, so Flash Republic from Riser gets a new lease of life. It's certainly one of the few of its sound in this contest, much of the contest being a lot heavier, so how will it fare? Riser allows our scoreboard to start with Orla Gartland taking an early lead, followed by Crossfaith. |

I am making the scoreboard on the fly so let's hope that doesn't slow me down later, eh?

As Bré pointed out, I was in that BJSC haha, and therefore have heard it! (I also know whether or not I gave it points in that, might reveal later) I was using 'no one' figuratively, you pedant x Yay, I got Jacob to post again by saying he was rubbish. Everyone do that. |

I'm sure no one would have noticed Flash Republic being a recycle if I wasn't contractually obliged to point it out xx

2. Dalek
That Handsome Devil - Elephant Bones QUOTE +12 Flash Republic - Twister +10 Pete & The Pirates - Blood Gets Thin +8 SPINN - Bliss +7 Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky - For the Sun +6 Petal - Better Than You +5 Brutus - War (Live At Rain City) +4 Demians - Swing of the airwaves +3 Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights +2 Green Lung - May Queen +1 Sports Team - M5 SCOREBOARD 12 Orla Gartland - Why Am I Like This 12 Flash Republic - Twister (Riser) 12 Petal - Better Than You 10 Crossfaith - Wipeout 10 Pete & The Pirates - Blood Gets Thin 8 Polaris - The Remedy 8 SPINN - Bliss 7 Sylar - SHOOK! 7 Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky - For the Sun 6 Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights 5 Cleopatrick - Hometown 5 Brutus - War (Live At Rain City) 4 Vanish - Role Play 4 Demians - Swing Of The Airwaves 3 Green Lung - May Queen 2 Holding Absence - Perish 1 Sports Team - M5 Dalek and Riser's votes up against each other are quite cool, contrasted. Completely different songs for the most part, but matching on their 6 and 3 pointers. Anyway, Dalek sent a rather nice track by That Handsome Devil, which is a bit of a wearisome band name, but a cool sounding song. It's one of the few still on zero. Meanwhile, three songs tie for first. Including Jordan's Twister. |

I didn't make many predictions of who sent what this time but one of the few I felt pretty sure of was That Handsome Devil being Michael. Oop xx

3. SevenSeize
Zeal & Ardor - Don't You Dare QUOTE +12 Pete & The Pirates - Blood Gets Thin +10 Dirty Projectors - Break-Thru +8 Green Lung - May Queen +7 Sports Team - M5 +6 That Handsome Devil - Elephant Bones +5 SPINN - Bliss +4 Cleopatrick - Hometown +3 Brutus - War (Live At Rain City) +2 Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky - For The Sun +1 Holding Absence - Perish SCOREBOARD 22 Pete & The Pirates - Blood Gets Thin 13 SPINN - Bliss 12 Orla Gartland - Why Am I Like This 12 Flash Republic - Twister (Riser) 12 Petal - Better Than You 11 Green Lung - May Queen 10 Crossfaith - Wipeout 10 Dirty Projectors - Break-Thru 9 Cleopatrick - Hometown 9 Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky - For the Sun 8 Polaris - The Remedy 8 Sports Team - M5 8 Brutus - War (Live At Rain City) 7 Sylar - SHOOK! 6 That Handsome Devil - Elephant Bones (DalekTurret32) 6 Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights 4 Vanish - Role Play 4 Demians - Swing Of The Airwaves 3 Holding Absence - Perish SevenSeize sent Zeal & Ardor, something I hear that Bré was after, or, well, knew, because Bré's first confirmed entry was also by Zeal & Ardor, but a different song. Nice band. Up for hearing more by them. Bré do it. Seven gets Dalek and another song off zero, meaning that he's actually one of the two songs left on zero, the other being... hold on... I can't remember, uh, SHADED. That wasn't the poster behind that one being shaded. Unintentional, completely unintentional. Moving on. |

4. Mattias
Polaris - The Remedy QUOTE Hi! Lead screamer of Polaris here. Lemme put down my guitar and stop screaming for just a min as I compose these votes for you. As a band, we decided that we enjoyed these songs the most, and will be covering them all, complete with screaming and growling, in the next few months. Thanks for another guitarious edition of this chicken-inspired contest. 12 – Holding Absence – Perish 10 – Brutus - War (Live At Rain City) 8 – Demians - Swing Of The Airwaves 7 – Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky - For The Sun 6 – Pete & The Pirates - Blood Gets Thin 5 – Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights 4 – Dirty Projectors - Break-Thru 3 – SPINN - Bliss 2 – Sylar - SHOOK! 1 – Zeal & Ardor - Don't You Dare 28 Pete & The Pirates - Blood Gets Thin 18 Brutus - War (Live At Rain City) 16 Marissa Nadler & Stephen Brodsky - For the Sun 16 SPINN - Bliss 15 Holding Absence - Perish 14 Dirty Projectors - Break-Thru 12 Orla Gartland - Why Am I Like This 12 Flash Republic - Twister (Riser) 12 Petal - Better Than You 12 Demians - Swing Of The Airwaves 11 Green Lung - May Queen 11 Ecca Vandal - Broke Days, Party Nights 10 Crossfaith - Wipeout 9 Cleopatrick - Hometown 9 Sylar - SHOOK! 8 Polaris - The Remedy (Mattias) 8 Sports Team - M5 6 That Handsome Devil - Elephant Bones (DalekTurret32) 4 Vanish - Role Play 1 Zeal & Ardor - Don't You Dare (SevenSeize) Pete & The Pirates continue to pull away, but some of the pack below is getting more than one vote and starting to chase the heels of Blood Gets Thin. Mattias sent a rather heavy screamy song from Polaris. I do always welcome screams and metal so it was nice to see so many (comparatively) in the contest I hosted. The Remedy is fairly low at this point but plenty of time to change that. |

...although I did pretty much know Zeal & Ardor would be Seven as I did know he was a fan of them already. I don't think I'm going to send their other song to anything now but here it is if anyone else wants to listen (I played it on plug as well):
Fantastic band, hope they do well xx Polaris was also rather fab out of the heavier songs! Quite surprised at that being Mattias but great choice *. |
