Raven (2002-2010) Oh my god, I have no idea where to start with this. Raven is my absolute favourite show from my childhood, it is pretty hard to top it! I remember being enthralled by every series and wanting to be on it so bad (of course that was a time before I knew what apply online for a show was). When I finally did learn how to apply I was too old by a few months. Briefly, the show followed Raven, who over the course of a month puts 18 warriors to the test in-order to find his ultimate warrior. The warriors must go against each other in tasks by gaining and losing lives and rings. In the end, they must go up against Nevar to be crowned the ultimate warrior. The series was filmed in locations across Scotland and lasted 10 series'. Let's talk about the most nerve wracking moment in Raven history though, watching Ishal become the first warrior (and one of only 4 in the whole 10 series') to complete the Way of The Warrior. I remember seeing this promo and being so excited to get in from school the next day to see if the challenge had "met it's match" (Ravens own words m8) Can we also talk about how incredible the costume / special effects department were? I mean the warrior's costumes are fantastic! Raven also had 3 spin-off's: The Island, The Dragon's Eye and The Secret Temple. The Dragon's Eye was my favourite spin off and the whole series can be found on youtube Of course, over the years, Raven has had numerous merchandise released, the best being the DVD game (which you can get on Amazon for around £1.50 ) I also remember that there was an official survey on the site which made up your warrior name, I was Cairca and had Tree as my emblem. (Slay) Earlier this year, an interview was filmed with James MacKenzie (Raven) where he spoke about the show, it is really insightful and worth a watch |

Ishal was my idol after she became the first to complete Way of the Warrior (until the second person and then she became less special).

Ishal the Dame of Raven.
Raven was a classic. I believe the actress who played Mysti played Keith Lemon's girlfriend in that awful film? |

The first time I saw Raven I had just switched the TV on and saw someone getting zapped and disappearing. Gave me nightmares.

Raven was so good, I hardly missed an episode, watching some of the clips now I recognise some of the kids.
I was well into my LOTR phase (which I never fully left ) and I absolutely adored the map they used and the fantasy setting, I wanted to be on the show so badly haha. I remember being so excited when someone finally did beat The Way Of The Warrior. |
