Just a little stat on how popular Tool are, they're music has only been streaming since Friday, and already several of the tracks have nearly a million streams on spotify

If Tool's music had been available on digital services from the get go, they would likely have a few of their singles certified and some higher certifcations for their albums. I'm thinking they'll suprise and get the #1.

Tool could break the biggest drop from #1 record if they actually do get it.
I can’t see it hanging around for long their last album only managed 4 weeks top 100 and that was before streaming took over. Surely Lana Del Rey will sell more than these. I think she could just about do it tbh. 1. Lana 2. Ed 3. Bon Iver 4. Taylor / Tool 5. Taylor / Tool Lewis Capaldi could also be somewhere in the top 5 too but I’m thinking for that week only he’ll drop to #6 and then overtake everyone bar Ed the following week. |

Tool are having a big impact on iTunes with many tracks top 10... in the US... think that's where they're mostly famous, not the UK
same for Spotify, you're looking at Global not UK |

Ed has already dropped to 41k and this is still several weeks away so I presume all 3 will outsell him, and Taylor might too, but can't really tell in which order. If I had to bet, I'd choose Tool.

I feel like Buzzjack is massively overestimating their popularity I mean, for a band that haven't even spent 10 weeks in the albums top 100... just where is the proof of this big fanbase exactly? |

Lana has already filmed the video for f*** It I Love You and The Greatest, a dual video, so that should be out soon... I was thinking Friday... but actually it looks like on Friday she's gonna drop a new song... but for a soundtrack and not featured on the album... which is very Lana
as I posted above I also think people are over-estimating how popular Tool are... They are super popular in the US, yes, there they are huge... and proof is they had almost the entire top 10 on iTunes singles, which is kinda bizarre for a rock band... but none made it to the UK iTunes... just did a search and couldn't even find one Tool song in the top 1500... and same for albums, 5 albumin the top 20 in the US iTunes, but just 2 albums in the top 40 at like #24 and #29 in the UK, which is like nothing sales-wise considering how low sales are on iTunes albums... so sure Tool are huge in the US but don't think so in the UK |

If you ask Kylie fans, those are like HUGE sales
I think the hype of new music will get them easily over 20k, they will sell lots of physical albums. |

TOOL won't sell anywhere near as much as Lana and Bon Iver will in total in the UK but I wouldn't be surprised if they have amassed enough of a fanbase after the years and years of anticipation for a new album for them to be able to compete in the first week. It'll be an easy #1 in the US at least. It's kind of reminiscent of Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter V' which became his highest charting album in the UK because of how much anticipation there was for it for years before it finally came out (except TOOL are much more likely to actually shift pure sales of course). Hard to call this one.

Will TOOL really be able to compete with Taylor’s week two to be #1 in the USA
I’d have thought she’d easily remain at #1 there. Idk I feel like I might be underestimating them just for having no clue who they even were before seeing this poll. |

^ that's a good point, I keep forgetting Taylor exists. Maybe an easy #2 with a possibility of #1 if Taylor underperforms then

in the US it's harder than ever to remain at #1 in week 2, all albums have like a 95% drop in week 2
it's cos no one buys albums there, all 1st week sales are inflated by ticket bundles. Sure Taylor will do the same. And hardcore fans that buy physicals will do in week 1 not on week 2. think Tool have all the chances in the world of being #1 in the US (while zero chances in the UK imho) |

11 out of the 13 on the album are on, that's almost the entire album.. not sure what the point of that is.
