Avicii - For A Better Day (feat. Alex Ebert) Avicii is my favourite artist in music at the moment and that is of course no secret, even my current username is inspired by him. So of course it makes sense to have him as my first ~Track of the Day~. With the third single to be taken from 'Stories' following 'The Nights' and 'Waiting For Love', 'For A Better Day' again shows the brilliance of Avicii, with great use of a piano riff in the drop - and the whole thing feels a lot less "EDM" than a lot of his other songs but that isn't a bad thing, what I love about him is how he merges dance with other genres and makes it sound amazing. I won't lie though 'Waiting For Love' is a much better song, but it would take another 'Wake Me Up' or 'Levels' to outdo the amazingness of that. Anyway 'Stories' is out in just about a month from now and I am so so excited, I wouldn't be surprised if this man was seen in this thread a lot around the time of the album's release. |

I've considered this idea a few times actually! Only thing is I might not think of a specific song every day (not to mention 7 more posts a week adding to my already high weekly post count )

Sigma & Diztortion - Redemption (feat. Jacob Banks) Sigma have constantly impressed with their commercial drum n' bass over the past 2 years, moreso than the likes of DJ Fresh and Rudimental who aren't as good now. 'Redemption' is no exception, it's just a standard song of its genre but the formula works. Although it's not of the quality of 'Changing' or 'Nobody To Love' it's still a nice listen, and the soulful vocals of Jacob Banks are a great addition too. He already proved his voice works on DnB, featuring on 'Alive' for Chase & Status, so it's no surprise that this turns out to be a great song. I still don't get how Diztortion comes into this though, it doesn't feel influenced by his sound at all. I don't expect this to do any better than 'Higher' in the charts, but hopefully it can at least do that well because 'Higher' is still their weakest single since their breakthrough. |

Technasia & Green Velvet - Suga It is now the longest running #1 on Beatport ever, and even though not many people buy music from there it is still a great achievement. The song is very simplistic and doesn't really have a lot going in it as is the case with tech house but I love that guitar riff. That really helps it be amazingly catchy and saves the song from being a borefest. Then every so often the vocal comes in, and it's quite a 'raw' vocal (not sure what word to describe it as really, this was the best I could do) - very different to a lot of house where they aim for clean and/or soulful voices, but I love it. If more tech house could be this good then it might be a genre I could get more into. |

Olivera - Flow (Oliver Chang Remix) Every so often I'll pick a track that most of you wouldn't have heard of, and this I stumbled on last night when looking at the plug.dj history for a dance music room, guess that's become a new source for discoveries. It's really good too, quite slow for a dance song but it's far from the Kygo style of slow dance. If I had to compare it to someone I'd say Porter Robinson. I just love the drop in this though, nothing too bassy but it's got cool sounds over it. Take a listen~ |

Kygo - Here For You (feat. Ella Henderson) Previously known as 'ID (Ultra Music Festival Anthem)' and having no vocals, it sounded beautiful then and so I'm glad it's been re-done with vocals just so it can get some chart success in some form, and it already seems to be doing better than poor 'Nothing Left', another amazing song from him. Kygo's style of tropical house is just so good though, and the vocals compliment it nicely. Good to see Ella on another dance song too, that'll make sure she stays relevant before her 2nd album campaign. The production is the key part of the song though, it just sounds so lush. |

KDA - Turn The Music Louder (Rumble) (feat. Tinie Tempah & Katy B) So this has just emerged a few days ago and it's great as I would expect from Tinie and Katy B on the same song. Although Tinie isn't the lead artist it does feel like a follow up to 'Not Letting Go', and his rap fits well on the dance beat as he has proven before. It is Katy B that really makes the song though, it's been a while since we heard from her and it's great to have her back. Definitely would love to see this be a big chart smash |

Avicii - Pure Grinding (feat. Kristoffer Fogelmark & Earl St. Clair) This guy again I know, but this track really deserves to be heard. It's really different for Avicii, as I imagine many of the album tracks will be as he loves to experiment a bit with his sound, but still falls under the dance genre. Initially I preferred 'For A Better Day' to this because of its familiarity (i.e. it sounds like a lot of his other songs) but this one is a proper grower and I absolutely love it now. |

Mike Mago - Deeper Love 'Outlines' may be his only ever commercial hit but meanwhile he's still producing great songs. Like this one, which is a house tune as you would expect - and it's definitely on the radio friendly side of house but I would imagine this won't be going anywhere. With a very catchy hook and nice production it's worth a listen. |
