Just been released on Netlix, based on the book of the same name. Just finished episode 4 and so so gripping! So full of twists and turns, apparently was on Lifetime originally but went over everyones heads, hope it gets the attention it deserves - would thoroughly reccomend based on what I've seen so far!
For anyone who watched Gossip Girl, it is like it is Dan though - from him being obsessed with books, to living in New York and fitting in with the higher elite society I keep on thinking it is him and a continuation of what happened after Gossip Girl.
Watched the trailer for this and it looks really good! Kinda like a Fifty Shades of Stalking
Emmy Rossum hooked me too tbh
Fifty Shades wishes it could be this good!
Binged this in 2 days and just finished. Final 2 episodes are brilliant! Second series cannot come soon enough.
Surprised this got slept on on BuzzJack!
This was incredible.
I'm already buzzing for season 2, I truly expected that ending though!
I'm 3 episodes in and really unsure tbh, I will probs stick with it to see what happens though because I found myself getting bored in episodes 2 and 3 but then something else happens and I think oh i might as well see what happens next
Finished watching this last night and it had me gripped all the way through loved it ! So glad it’s coming back for another series as well as it was left on a cliff hanger .
Finally got around to watching the first episode and I am in AWE
Reminds me a lot in terms of tone and style of Dexter, aka one of my all time favourite tv shows (and also the namesake of my dog Dexter, and thus my Buzzjack name Dexton). I will definitely be binging this asap
Eh I've quit. Dull and a bit too teen thriller instead of dark psychological thriller for me.
I cannot stand Peach but I'm getting a bit more into this, I'm on episode 6 now and it has slowed a bit but I feel like I said there always seems to be something as soon as I get bored
I finished last night, and good christ is it just me or does Beck's acting just go off the rails in the last few episodes? I mean she was hardly Meryl Streep to begin with but christ. I guess it was a Lifetime series, her acting was very Lifetime, one of those made for TV movies Channel 5 fills its afternoon schedule with.
I really enjoyed the series overall, as per my other posts it did drag a bit in places but the twists were always there at just the right time so that I never quit or got *too* bored, althoguh there was really no need for the episode with Beck's dad at the Dickens' fair thing, yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. I'm very intrigued to see where the next season will go, with Netflix behind it rather than Lifetime, it should ramp up and be even better I'd imagine!
I watched this between last night and today and managed to finish it. I was gripped throughout however it was pretty much a gossip girl 10 years on - he played a very similar character. Glad it’s coming back!
I just finished this and have to echo the above praise! I was genuinely rooting for Joe the entire series, up until the final two episodes. I thought the pacing was good for the most part, I found myself gripped during every episode, which is rare for a US drama.
I am disappointed though that Joe ended up killing Bec in the final episode, I just don't see how he managed to recover from a head injury so quickly, but I hope she will still play a part in the second season. I'd also like to know what happened after Paco witnessed her locked in the cellar?!
It will be good to see more of Candace's backstory too after they kept teasing it during episode 9
Netflix has just posted a picture of the table read for Season 2. Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting Of Hill House) is joining the cast.
Really enjoying this at the moment on episode 6!
Just finished this tonight - it's so stupid but god it's a fantastic show. I love the way they make writing the centre if the show.
And need to say nothing about Beck
Beck?! She was a stupid, selfish annoying little brat! I couldn't stand her!
Lovely looking though 😀
Series 2 coming on Boxing Day! One of my favourite Netflix series of recent along with 'Dead To Me', excited and Penn Badgley can GET IT.
Really looking forward to watching this over Christmas
Currently on episode 2 of season 2. Enjoying it so far!
Are all the episodes on now or one per week?
20 minutes into the first episode and all i can think about is ‘WHO TALKS LIKE THAT??’. The stereotypical ‘self obsessed Instagram lady taking pictures of everything, the strangers starting conversations with blunt observations on other people and asking for their Instagram username or if a peach looks like a butt and now he’s got a job because the interviewer was interested in the book he had?
Garbage but of course I’m going to keep watching.
Watched the first two episodes tonight and it's stupidly brillant as series one and I love it!
Just finished and it was highkey terrible yet amazing nonetheless So convoluted but it always keeps you gripped.
The main character is a great actor imo!
I really liked the first series of this, and I don't normally like this kind of teen mystery stuff. I'm very interested to see the new series as the end of the last one left quite a few questions open.
It continues on well from it, wish I had rewatched it before watching this though.
It was gripping and tense throughout but Love may be the worst character ever, an evil little bitch and not even a strong villain, just a weak feeble horrible rich privileged c**t. Delilah was THAT bitch and deserved so much more, her and Ellie did, they did nothing wrong to anyone! Forty even grew in my affections too and he deserved to live really. Candice too I thought was gonna be a bad bitch and get everything solved and get the revenge she deserved but nope! The ending left me feeling uncomfortable with Love and Joe getting away with it, showing that ultimately money can help you get away with anything. I hope next series is more about revenge somehow, because there wasn't enough of that and too many good people died - the only one who deserved to die was Henderson really.
God this was appalling
I thought it was really good!
It’s been confirmed for season 3 today I’m glad I really enjoyed the 2nd series
I enjoyed S2. Far fetched and OTT but still really good.
I so predicted that Love would turn out to be just as bad as Joe though. I had a feeling she was low key crazy from the start and I watched it knowing they’d so it different to S1.
But the biggest plot twist surely had to be Forty was straight!
Finished this last night, I loved it! Whenever I thought it was just playing the same beats as the first series, it surprised me by going in a different direction. Joe remains fascinating to watch for someone who should obviously be an awful person and they really did much better with him delving into his past and it became even more tempting to root for him this season before the rug was pulled out. Really enjoyed watching the Quinns and all the supporting characters too, they all felt quite well developed and some good comments on contemporary fame culture.
One thing I'm unsure about is how it will work for a third season, they haven't got source material to work with and the ending of S2 seemed to suggest more of the same which wasn't the same last season, hope I'm wrong!
I remember reading that the author has written a third book, and is working with the team on season 3 - I'll have to check that though
Am I the only one who thought the 2nd series was beyond terrible?!
Season 1 was really great, we were so looking forward to season 2 based on the first season, and then it turned out like... THAT. None of the newly introduced main characters were likeable, nor did there seem to be any chemistry between any of them and Joe. Forty in particular was beyond ridiculous and just so, so annoying.
Couple that with a poor story line and it was pretty much the complete opposite of season 1. Dare I bother with season 3 when it comes out?
I enjoyed season 2 but I have to agree slightly, season 1 was much better in every way. I found it much more cohesive as a story too whereas this was left very open ended (probably to ensure they get given another season )
I have a feel this won’t go beyond season 3 or possibly 4. It definitely has the feel of a “show that definitely did not need more than one season but inevitably gets continued for ratings”. 13 Reasons Why etc
Season 3 is out now!
Gotta say the first episode pretty much confounded all my expectations of what it could be (and indeed what I was worried about after Season 2) and that's a very good thing, I really like that it keeps evolving past what you'd expect.
I'm 2 episodes in and enjoying it. I found Season 2 a bit hit and miss at times, but the reviews for Season 3 are strong and they say it is an improvement. So fingers crossed it's a ride!
Struggling to get into it this season, only watched 1 ep, hope my interest picks up
On episode 3 and it’s great again!
Ended up being my fave season!! This is also now a Sherry Conrad Stan account.
Really enjoyed the series!
Enjoyed this more than Season 2, but not as good as the the very first Season. I had heard lots of stuff about the "twist" ending, must say I was very disappointed by that. Pure media clickbait as anyone who watched episode 1 could have seen the "twist" coming an absolute mile off.
