Why has the track just taken off now? It can't be that thousands of people jumped on a track amid the corona virus sitch?

I'm not a fan. I like Julia Michaels generally, she's had some below average releases but I like her voice. Idk what he's trying to do but it just sounds like hes talking with a very slight rhythm to it which isn't so bad but ending the line with "right?" is just incredibly off putting
I 100% understand the meaning of the song I just do not like how it's been done oops
