I wouldn’t say she’s a flop, just that she has underperformed this past era. Three tracks have gone top 40 which isn’t too bad. I think she still has the potential to have another hit if the song is right.
She’s not alone though, I feel like several female pop artists are struggling this year for some reason e.g. Zara, Katy Perry, Little Mix, Miley. |

I think there’s just too much (there’s not, but for the GP there is...) female pop that has slayed this year.
Ariana Grande - huge, the overall star of 2019 Lizzo - huge smash ww Billie Eilish - huge smash Camila Cabello - huge #1 smash Taylor Swift - decent sized hits Mabel - big year |

Close to me went top 20?
Sixteen had good longevity Hate me underperformed Wouldn’t say she’s a flop, she just needs to stick to a sound and focus on releasing music that she wants to release. I don’t think she has much life left In her though |

Maybe those artists are just more streaming friendly, whatever that means.
Part of me does wonder if maybe she has just reached the end of her career similar to Katy. They both had loads of success but can't seem to replicate in 2019. |

More sales than any Miley single, more than 2/3 of Taylor's singles, more than all 3 Lizzo singles (so far), more than Both Ellie singles this year, both little mix singles and will finish the year on roughly the same as Pink's Walk Me Home. We don't mention Small Tank!!! |

but tbh I don't think Hate Me got a lot of support on Spotify, was like song #25 or something at most on HH, if it had been top 10 there, things might have been different

It just hasn't helped that everything she's released this year has been lacking and faceless. She's competing in a saturated market with music that anyone could release and not injecting anything to make it Ellie Goulding. She can do better. |
