Posted by: Wizzard 2nd December 2020, 08:04 AM

Full list of nominees:

Stuart Broad
Hollie Doyle
Tyson Fury
Lewis Hamilton
Jordan Henderson
Ronnie O'Sullivan

Who do you think will win the annual award?

What do you make of the list?

Posted by: Dobbo 2nd December 2020, 08:57 AM

Has to be Lewis surely. Although wouldn't begrudge Tyson winning. Surprised Ronnie made the list...

Posted by: Houdini 2nd December 2020, 12:03 PM

Yeah Lewis Hamilton will win this for sure.

Posted by: Flatcap 2nd December 2020, 01:01 PM

Not keen on this award. Once you have won it, you should be ineligible for future awards...

Posted by: Dobbo 2nd December 2020, 01:30 PM

Disagree. It's sports personality of the year. If you have 2+ amazing years why should you be disregarded the latter times?

Awards like "lifetime achievement in sport" or "contribution to sport" should be once only.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 2nd December 2020, 10:03 PM

Yeh you should def be allowed to win it more than once.

Begrudgingly Hamilton will win, should be Hendo though!

Hollie Doyle second favourite to win BBC Sports Personality of the Year. I see the horse racing are doing a similar campaign like they had with Tony McCoy back in 2010.

Who’s she?

She's a jockey who won two races at British Champions Day including a Group 1, she rode the most winners in a season for a female.jockey.and won at Royal Ascot.

It's a bit of a weird year really, we should have had Wimbledon, the Euros and the Summer Olympics, without which there seem to be very few obvious candidates- obviously Lewis Hamilton will walk this.

Posted by: Houdini 20th December 2020, 08:19 PM

Alex Scott looks amazing as always! tongue.gif

Posted by: Christmasteve201 20th December 2020, 08:30 PM

Yeh she’s stunning!

Captain Tom get an award there?

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 20th December 2020, 09:11 PM

Top 3 I think will be:

Hamilton
Doyle
O'Sullivan

Why on earth would she not be qualified lol?

Posted by: Doctor Blind 20th December 2020, 10:11 PM

Loads of GAMMONS complaining no doubt. Well done to Lewis!

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 20th December 2020, 10:33 PM

I had gammon for tea, loads of gammons moaning. Alex Scott did a great job.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 20th December 2020, 10:37 PM

Hahaha!!

I feel bad for that Hamilton post above now, he’s not that bad just not a motorsports fan and heard he doesn’t live in the UK, probably harsh what I said!

Posted by: Feliz Wombat 20th December 2020, 11:52 PM

Hamilton unquestionably deserves it, I mean yeah it's not been the most fruitful year for sport but that only makes his achievements stand out more. I've never really understood the amount of flack he seems to get.

Posted by: Dobby Helms 21st December 2020, 09:37 AM

Jealousy that's why. A kid from a humble background upsetting the apple cart in a rich & elitist sport and going on to break all the records.

Add to that his push for diversity & inclusion, obviously of greater prevalence this year especially and he really transcends the sport. Fully deserved champ clap.gif

Lewis Hamilton was certainly the right choice for the main award. I enjoyed the two hours the programme lasted. Bearing in mind the Olympics and other events didn't happen, they still managed to create a good show. Alex Scott did a great job on her SPOTY presenting debut.
