Elena Risteska 'Ninanajna' So you guys chose 2006's Ninanajna to qualify for the Semifinals. Did we all know that Elena JUST won that NF with ikonec Esma (and some guy (other boy toy of hers i guess~ what a hoe)) finishing 2nd. Well, now we do. Kaliopi also tried that year but came 6th. ANYWAY, Ninanajna came 12th in the contest tied with Croatia's own QoL Severina. Quite a mismatch there. The song is good but will it stand a chance against other more ikonec entrants and songs that are less 11th place material and more Loreen. |

Lena 'Satellite' Duh. Lena was a runaway winner in 2010 with fabulous Satellite that captured everyone's attention months before the contest and on the very night of the Final. She managed a win despite the lack of theatrics, fireworks and dolla. Lena's quirky likeable personality and she managed to show everyone during her 3 minutes combined with a catchy simple song secured the win. Even maNga with their rockiness and girl robot and loudness and shit couldn't overshine Lena's charm. Buzzjack bought it all as well and since then she's been one of our favourite winners. Therefore it was pretty obvious Lena is a dead cert for the Semis. And maybe even the Final. Slay. |

Lena 'Taken by a Stranger' Well, let's match Helena's record of 2 out of 2. Only this time both songs were solo efforts. Lena's fabulous 2011 follow-up which finished 10th in the contest, advances to the Semifinals from Germany. FUCK YOU ALL for not voting for the PERFECT 'Reise nach Jerusalem'. This song ALONE got the same amount of 12s as BOTH qualifiers TOGETHER. Lena's songs received 187 points in total. But didn't Satellite landslide it?! Utterly disappointed in you all who zeroed it. Demote gooddelta THIS INSTANT. |

Jelena Tomašević & Bora Dugić 'Oro' "i don't know her" - Jelena. Another slightly controversial decision. Molitva finishes 2nd and joins the list of Eurovision winners who could not make it to the Semifinals alongside Charlotte Nilsson and Marie Flop'N. Ruslana is the only other winner left in this heat so we'll see if this list needs an update v soon. Look at me and Qass have almost an identical ranking. His taste is getting much better, it seems. And look at all the guys finishing bottom. Oops. Milan too low though. |

Ruslana 'Wild Dances' Yup, Ruslana has officially made it. Well, seeing she finished 4th in the last Super Eurovision, it was almost a given. Will the last spot belong to Shady Lady who WON the Super Eurovision I, Svetlana Loboda who got to 18th in the final in 2012 and 12th in the actual Eurovision or the more recent Buzzjack favourite Zlata Ognevich? (it's zlata. soz ani/loboda :'( ) |

Yay Karolina! I love 'Oro' but really disappointed 'Molitva' didn't make it, one of the best live performances I've seen. And there were plenty of better choices over Svetlana, but nearly all the Ukrainian entries were great.
Cyprus AND Azerbaijan in one heat, it's going to be so difficult! |

I only just clicked on this thread randomly and was so devastated upon reading the voting deadline. Vaguely surprised/quite ecstatic that 'Taken By A Stranger' made it
Ukraine is horrible though. Like, there's no way only two entries should go through from there. Poor 'Shady Lady' |

I don't much care for Wild Dances, not pleased that it's beaten out Shady Lady aka one of the best Eurovision songs of all time.

To be fair most of the older entries will hold little or no special attatchement to many of the younger voters. Even I find it hard to judge a song I barely know from 1996 fairly against something I obsessed over and meant a huge amount to my life from 2002, 2009 or whatever.
That said, there are two or three songs from each of the 1996-1999 contests that have become all time favourites for me which I didn't know prior to following Eurovision religiously - Den Vilda, The Voice, Karleken Ar, All Out Of Luck and Diamond Of Night. It's sort of subconscious ageism. I'm sure we wouldn't all be ranking the hits of the 60s particularly highly if this competition focused on ALL of the entries, regardless of how good they technically are. Touch My Fire is arguably nowhere near as good a song as I Belong by Kathy Kirby, but I expect Javine would win out in that duel due to familiarity and just basically appealing to the music tastes of more people. |
