The album has been out for a few weeks now and is on streaming services now for ease of listening, so it is time to rate it and find Buzzjack's fave song from this era!

Not as many highs as 1989, but just as cohesive and catchy. The thing that really lets this album down is the lyrics. TIWECHNT is a banger (actually reminds me of 'C'mon Let Me Ride Your Bicycle' by Skylar Grey lol), but THAT middle 8/sentence...

It’s not an album I’ll go back to. The singles are strong though and listen to them all quite a bit.

Not surprised at 'Delicate' doing so well! Such a great song. So subtle and different for Taylor and it's quite Selena/Britney - Just Luv Me which are forum faves iirc!
Edit: LWYMMD being the absolute best on the album is what you should be most concerned about

Everything else is either standard Taylor (which is still pretty good) or made to be overtly malicious (TIWWCHNT). And then there’s So It Goes with is pretty much filler. re: “Look” - it’s good when you look at it from the the perspective of the album and what Taylor was trying to convey with that. As a standalone song it’s nothing spectacular without all the novelty tied on it. |
