BuzzJack Music Forum _ Forum News and Help _ Features Request Forum Closed

Posted by: Iz~ Sep 20 2017, 03:15 PM

Many of you will know that the Features Request forum has been of limited use lately.

With the current lineup of AFs set to stay as is for a few months (barring any of them having activity dropping off a cliff, so do keep those post numbers up), and more importantly, most successful AF decisions generally paying very little attention to the arguments made within Feature Request threads, and limited non-AF threads that weren't (admittedly, some fairly funny, but they made up too much of the forum) jokes, it's been decided that it will be closed for the foreseeable future. This has happened before, and it was reopened again, so it may be reopened in the future, but for now, it's gone. All threads have been moved and closed into the resolved requests forum.

If you are a normal member and wish to suggest an idea for the site, we will still of course welcome that, please message a relevant moderator, who will then bring it up for discussion in one of the staff forums.

Ah, understandable but still a shame. One of my fave forums on the site!

Yes some moderators on Buzzjack don't want any input from normal members on artist forums and other features any more sadly sad.gif I know there were some joke threads here but some threads were actually good and useful ones imo like 'What artist forum should go next' to gauge opinion on our existing artist forums.

It's not just the joke threads, it's just the majority agrees that decisions would be best made by staff and it would save resources by just PMing staff for ideas

I'm assuming things like the future of Buzzjack can still be discussed in The Lounge?

Moderators often pay attention to what non-mods want, and that's partly why Features Request was closed - it was mostly full of joke threads, even the example you've given was tongue-in-cheek. In terms of the AFs, the poll system is pretty unrealistic to gather enough 'yes' votes, and I think the AF mods as a collective are pretty capable of making decisions together. Nevertheless, the AFs are frozen for a few months to let the new changes sink in. Don't think we're not listening to you guys, but the Features Request forum isn't needed for anything like that when very few took it seriously anyway.

Anyone is always free to give ideas about new AFs/features. If you do have a serious suggestion and aren't a moderator, then simply PM a mod or a GM and if we think that it could be good and currently possible to implement before the new site, we'll discuss it or raise it in the mod discussion forum.

This isn't shutting down anyone's input, it's just closing down a redundant forum that was mainly housing the same circular arguments and pointless piss taking. That's all. (I will close this thread if it goes where I think it's going).

This is a constant discussion behind the scenes I can reassure you! But yes, there'd be no issue with that.
