Chart award breaker just in:

Rather Be has now surpassed Agnes "Release Me" in becoming the longest runner ever in my chart whether it be in the original smash hits chart run from April 07-December 2010 or in the re-commission which started in October last year. Release Me spent 34 weeks in my top 40, 6 of which were at #1 and Rather Be is now on 35 weeks whilst still riding high at #21 on my chart this week. Congrats to Clean Bandit biggrin.gif

Never been able to get into 'Ugly Heart', nor was I fan of the Pitbull song 'Wild Wild Love' that they featured on. But it is very much sad and shocking news about Simone, RIP.

Fantastic chart run for 'Rather Be'! I'm also thrilled to hear you were a big fan of 'Release Me' too, I loved it back in 2009 (definitely one of my favourite years for music!). Just a shame she didn't have any further big success, particularly not with 'I Need You Now'.

Ugly Heart took about a month to properly click with me so I can see why you and Jade etc are saying your not huge on it. I did admittedly hesitate on giving it a 2nd listen after my first lol anyway it's definitely sad to hear and really mortifying the exact details behind it. Tragic just about sums it up. I do love Ugly Heart now hence why it's #1 on my chart laugh.gif

It is fantastic isn't it laugh.gif I know about Agnes but maybe she's deemed to forever remain a one hit wonder for us. RM was a GEM heart.gif

EDIT, Rockstar by Nickelback is my longest runner with 38 weeks despite only reaching #2 I think, so still has a couple of weeks till it surely beats that but Rather Be is the longest running #1 of mine in the duration of my Smash Hits chart from 2007-2014.

Oh great to hear about G.R.L., yeah obviously sad about Simone sad.gif

Oh I studied Music Performance at a local college/uni that I went to and they held about 3 theatre gigs a year (a bit poor compared to other music uni's etc but yeah I sung it about 3 and a half years back. It was going along the Valentines theme where everyone had to sing love songs hehe tongue.gif and I did this to really positive feedback too happy.gif )

Oh I just saw in the RIP thread. Sad to hear that, don't know him at all but didn't know he co-wrote it. It is indeed a brilliant song!
