So for those that didn't hear on the radio... Our new single may be coming to your ears next week 😏 be ready
Cannot wait!!
These guys are my guilty pleasure so I'm looking forward to some new music
I loved "Wake Up" and much of their last album. Am I right in saying they have a book out this week as well?
Was thinking about these guys earlier
Hope it's good - I expect the fanbase will make it go top 40.
I really hope they get another hit
I haven't listened to their albums but I really did enjoy all of their singles, especially from album 1!
Loved their last album although I was expecting them to be dropped as it was a bit of a flop era for them in terms of chart positions and sales.
I expect they make enough money from touring and merchandise to make up for the underwhelming chart success!
This era is likely make or break for them as their last album campaign and singles were a disaster.
Yeah, I feel like it could be make or break this time, although like Joseph said, they may be safe if they continue to bring in the money with touring and merch, as they clearly still have a loyal fanbase.
I seem to recall 'Wake Up' was an OA/OS release but this was at the point where this strategy was about to take off (what with Justin Bieber in particular triumphing with it) so hopefully, now that it's become the norm and record companies are learning how to treat and handle such releases, The Vamps will have a better chance at doing well instead of getting good first week sales before dropping like a stone. I'm not totally sure 'Wake Up' was the best song choice either, but that's going down a more subjective path.
Confirmed via live stream that it's called All Night and is a collaboration with Matoma Really exciting collaboration, cannot wait! Premieres during Capital drivetime tomorrow night and is out officially on Friday
(not sure exactly what the credit is, if Matoma is joint lead or a feature but I'll correct it when we know for sure)
MATOMA?!?
Surprised The Vamps are still deemed relevant enough to get him on board with their song, but if it means I'll actually enjoy it then yay
Here is a teaser.
I look forward to hearing it in full, Wake Up had some really good songs and props to them for getting another album
Well Matoma's behind one of my favourite records of 2016 ('False Alarm') so this can only be a good thing
oh im intrigued!!
Ohh this is sounding quite fresh - I do hope we see tropical vibes throughout and not just a tropical frop in among pop because that doesn't work with me. Very gentle synths isn't something we see much so it'll be interesting to hear this.
This is the best thing they've done since Somebody To You
This is SO SO GOOD!!! I've been waiting until it's officially released to hear it and on one listen I'm totally sold, much more instant than Wake Up was for me. Incredibly current and very radio friendly, will be a crime if it's not huge.
This is FANTASTIC Instant love, I'm so impressed <3
Absolutely loving this, it is quite a bandwagon jump for The Vamps but I can't say I blame them as their sound was starting to tire a bit, clearly with the public aswell. It still feels quite anthemic as most of their songs do though to retain a certain feel whilst sounding super commercial and chart ready. Another fantastic Matoma track, glad to hear he's not just becoming a Kygo who just repeats the same formula with each track.
I am loving this! A hit surely?
Don't really like this much at all, I know their last era didn't really go to plan but the ongoing sound of Wake Up/Rest Your Love from Can We Dance/Last Night etc. really worked for me, all their older tracks are guilty pleasure tunes whereas this doesn't even sound like Brad and has this weird drop awkwardly inserted. I mean it's OK but I'm disliking it more because I know the catchy choruses they're capable of.
I love this, It's been stuck in my head after two listens already.
I've loved both of their albums. Shame they're not getting the success they need. I hope we can squeeze another album out of them.
Is it just me or has Brad gotten rid of the prepubescent look
I like the Vamps but i think this song is extremely weak, i was going to say terrible but that is a bit harsh, easily their worst single to date.
1. Can We Dance
2. Wild Heart
3. Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
4. Last Night
5. Somebody to You
6. All Night
7. Wake Up
8. I Found a Girl
9. Rest Your Love
^ my rank. I love them all really, although the debut album taking up the top 5 and Wake Up taking up the bottom 3 oops All Night could climb in the future!
Well this has grown on me massively, still not as good as their poppiest catchiest tunes but it still has a strong hook and is in my head a lot atm.
Singles rank time!
1 Last Night
2 Can We Dance
3 Rest Your Love
4 All Night
5 Wake Up
6 Wild Heart
7 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
8 Somebody to You
9 I Found a Girl
RYL is so underrated
Rest Your Love is basically "good album track" to me rather than single material Volcano was such a missed opportunity
I was talking to a couple of Vamps fans after their book signing earlier (didn't get to speak to the band really but Connor remembered me from before, he was very sweet ), they were both disappointed in this single, which is a shame, although thankfully it seems most of the fanbase is on board and hasn't been alienated by the shift in sound!
Two physicals + download bundle is out 4th November
I do actually think 'Wake Up' has emerged as my favourite of theirs, it deserved SO much better. 'Volcano' was a definite missed opportunity, they needed that immediately and effectively wasted away the era (although there's no guarantee it'd have helped much, really).
1. Wake Up
2. Somebody To You
3. Can We Dance
4. Wild Heart
5. Last Night
6. Rest Your Love
7. All Night
8. I Found A Girl
9. Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
Top 4 = fantastic!
01 Somebody To You
02 All Night
03 Wild Heart
04 Wake Up
05 Last Night
06 Rest Your Love
07 Can We Dance
08 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
09 I Found A Girl
The top 3 are all fantastic, maybe top 4. The bottom 3 are all crap. So they can be quite hit & miss but this is definitely a hit.
1 Somebody To You
2 All Night
3 Last Night
4 Wake Up
5 Wild Heart
6 Can We Dance
7 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
8 I Found A Girl
9 Rest Your Love
I think I only heard Rest Your Love once, I didn't give it much of a chance for some reason. I really like my Top 5 songs, can take or leave 6/7/8. All Night is great, I hope it goes on to do very well for them!
01 Wake Up
02 All Night
03 Somebody To You
04 Last Night
05 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
06 Can We Dance
07 Wild Heart
08 I Found A Girl
09 Rest Your Love (never heard it)
The top 7 are easily at least 8/10.
So I'm still undecided. I think their vocals annoy the shit out of me on this but I really, really like the production.
1 Can We Dance
2 Somebody to You
3 Wake Up
4 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
5 Wild Heart
6 Rest Your Love
7 Last Night
8 All Night
9 I Found a Girl
CWD & STY are still miles ahead of the rest and are 2 of my favourite ever boyband tracks, Wake Up/Cecilia/Wild Heart are all ok and I hate the other 4.
1 Somebody to You
2 Can We Dance
3 All Night
4 I Found a Girl
5 Wake Up
6 Rest Your Love
7 Last Night
8 Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)
9 Wild Heart
I'm not sure if they'll ever top Somebody To You.
1. Can We Dance
2. Somebody to You
3. Wild Heart
4. Wake Up
5. All Night
6. Last Night
7. I Found a Girl
8. Oh Cecilia
9. Rest Your Love
Kind of hard to place 'All Night' among songs that are pure pop but I think its placing is right. Could quite easily work its way up to #3, but I really love that Top 2.
I've grown to really like this now! Shame it'll be stuck with a peak just outside the top 40.
It has every chance of repeaking in the future! Airplay is looking better than last era and it has physicals out on 4th November so it's far from over for this.
This is definitely going to be a hit, it's just a matter of time!
Today's dance staples like Matoma tend to get more organic chart runs where they grow into being hits, so I think the same can be true with this.
Ranking:
1.) "Wild Heart"
2.) "Somebody To You"
3.) "Can We Dance"
4.) "All Night"
5.) "Wake Up"
6.) "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)"
7.) "I Found A Girl"
8.) "Last Night"
9.) "Rest Your Love"
I just find the last three basic. "Wild Heart" is an ANTHEM.
Double posted
88 on the mids in its 3rd week but back in the iTunes Top 40, hoping they get a boost/promo soon
Radio 1 are starting to pick up on this. There may be life in it yet.
There had better be! This deserves to be huge :'(
Physical bundle is out tomorrow so hopefully they 59p it and it gets moved up to the Radio 1 A list too. It's infuriatingly not on the necessary Spotify playlists
34 on iTunes - Not reducing it to 59p to support the physical release is a big fail. The have released a new remix of this tonight but that is also full price so unlikely to encourage many extra sales.
This deserves to be huge but they have a hard slog to make it Top 40 now seeing as it's currently nearing the bottom of the Top 100 on the official charts.
Even with the bundle I can't see this climbing back up 50+ places to make the Top 40 officially unless Radio start really getting behind it and they have some great TV promo planned
Unfortunately it's not 59p but the video boost is good so far. They sell well on physicals so I think it can make the top 40 this coming week, even just scraping in. Time will tell I guess.
#80 today (So an improvement on the first set of mids where it was #88). It has charted 42-75-80 so far, let's see if the bundles give it the 14k needed to go Top 40 next week... However can see this climbing back up to around #55 next week
If they had just reduced it to 59p this week then they would've had a guaranteed top 40!
Honestly it's way too early to call at this stage anyway. We'll see how the video exposure + continued airplay affects it on iTunes during the week much better than on a Friday night.
I love them and I'm loving this, but I honestly don't see a real recovery from here. I think 2013/2014 was an entirely different landscape that they found advantageous but in the current climate... I'm gonna be honest, much as they're lucky to still get this mainstream support nobody outside those who are truly invested is really supporting are they? (Kills me to say it, but it's true). Therefore, I'm going to say #42 will be its remaining peak but I suppose it may acclaim a better cumulative total than 'Wake Up' did?
Btw, is this from an intended 3rd album or is it testing the water? I'd love a 3rd album, I've really enjoyed what they're offering.
Third album! Currently expected early next year. They've got arena tour dates around May so should be out before then
#13 in the mids today
See how much it falls before Friday.
It will of course fall but I Found a Girl went from being like #20 on Monday to #30 on Friday so if this does the same kinda drop, it will still be in the chart's full play zone on Friday, which for me is an amazing result.
The book was out a few weeks ago!
So was that post
! That's what happens when you read Buzzjack before you've fully woken up
Currently #20 - Was hoping it would stay Top 20 which seems unlikely now however pleased that it's made the Top 40 as I didn't think it had a chance!
Great rebound up to #26 and continuing its erratic chart run (42-75-80-24-41-26), wish they had kept it at 59p for another week though but streaming seems to be taking off so could keep it Top 40 for a while?
I should think so!! Amazing result, really goes to show how important Hot Hits UK is if you want a streaming hit! 59p for one more week would've nudged it back into the play zone although it could still manage that next week
This is the probably the best thing they've ever done.
Just certified silver Deapite a shaky start this has been a solid seller - greatly helped by streaming! Would have loved it to snag a week Top 20 but seeing as it's now in freefall on iTunes it looks like it won't happen but still majorly impressed by its chart run 42-75-80-24-41-26-27-29-28-28-33-28-31.
Despite its low peak, its probably one of their biggest hits.
It was basically added to Hot Hits UK way too late, if it had been added to it a couple of weeks earlier it would have had a much better peak.
Yeah, I'd say it's their third biggest hit after Can We Dance and Somebody To You?
I'd say it's probably bigger than Somebody To You, or not far off! It's certainly having more longevity than all bar Can We Dance, and is likely their biggest streaming hit to date.
It makes me wonder how the next single will do!
quite nice trap-lite pop
are they a group/boyband/ some mix? not familiar with them at all
Reduced to 59p on iTunes again (It's currently #100), if it picks up some sales it could get a new peak seeing as it's still Top 20 on Spotify
Someone decided there was a TikTok market for an official Sped Up version of a six-year old song to release today...
