Been putting off listenin actually cos I was rly worried I wasn't going to like it for VARIOUS reasons (inc not being won over by Child's Play at all 😶) but it's a thousand times better than I expected.
Green Mile is perfect. |

Who knew the sweet little vulnerable girl from 'S' could come back so anthemically and LOUD like she does in 'Green Mile'
I have to admit I didn't know much about her until I saw the blog hype for this. This is completely wonderful though. 'Warm Winds', 'Babylon' and 'Shattered Ring' are my favourites thus far I think. Lemme check out S. Please do! 'S' is her masterpiece. Check out 'See.SZA.Run' while you're at it too, you won't look back. The progression/variation already and she's not even close to done: "SeeSZA.Run was first S didn't sound like See SZA, Z don't sound like either...A is a whole nother convo" |

my brain keeps trying to compare this to S but it rly just can't be done. All of S's charm lay in its innocence/vulnerability whereas Z is such a mature and brilliantly executed record. She really has pulled it out the bag big timee.

She really has pulled it out the bag big timee. Indeed. Ripping the heads off all her Barbie dolls with every line. And the visuals are just as incredible as the music: <3 |

Just ordered an autographed copy of this from the US. Will be only the fourth album i've ever paid full price for (after Gaga's 3).
Also 'Shattered Ring' is my song of the moment. That second verse is so damn good and the way she just never quite manages to keep going after the second "spent the night dancing..." is beautiful :'( |

So I've just looked up the lyrics to 'Aftermath' (aka best song ever) after being confused for a while...
I always thought it was 'doubt I'll ever be anyone's baby, not unless a unicorn gets so lonely'. Haha forever thinking she's creepin on the unicorns! |

Returning to this and crying uncontrollably like it's 2014 all over again. One of my favourite artists/PEOPLE period.
Child's Play is the one that makes most sense on returning. |
